Usually I connect my phone to a charger at night. Is there any way to disable charging notification sound without setting turning off all alarms?
If not, I just have to wait for TWRP update, root my phone and disable the sound in firmware.
The sound is
/system/media/audio/notifications/Tethys.ogg
...but renaming that file won't silence it.
Any ideas?

From my experience with previous devices I think that it might be built into the firmware itself.... Such that it's not just a matter of renaming/deleting an audio file (even if you have root) as it's built into the system itself.
This was some time ago and on my Nexus 6P, however, so it may not still be accurate/relevant

Anyone know how to disable the charge complete sound from this phone?
I plugged the phone in to charge and went to bed. 3 hours later the phone started beeping non-stop until I physically came down and acknowledged the notification.
What an annoying thing to happen especially since I was SLEEPING! lol
(If this has been asked before, I apologize, I tried searching for this both here and the internet and all I could find was a hack for the WindowsMobile Omnia phone).
Thanks.

put your phone on silent when you go to bed!
surely you do not sleep with your phone ringer on do you?
the alarm clock works fine when the phone is on silent.

It would be nice to be able to disable the charging complete notification, and leave all other ringers and notifications turned on. I have to leave my ringers on 24/7 for emergency work calls.

hmm
you could try reduce the notification volume down to zero at bed time, Im not sure the battery charge is regarded as notification, either that or "system" volume.
if you want that automated, get tasker, a VERY good app to automates tuff, like change your volume levels for different things at different times of day or based on location etc etc, amazing app.
Mark.

I have a solution, that works perfectly, and it also means your phone wont bug you EVERY single notification (otherwise you get woken up by spam in your gmail).
1) Upgrade your firmware.. The latest firmware still has the "charged thing", but its done a different way.
2) Set your global Notification tone to silent in settings, but leave volume loud.
2) Set a tone in Messaging (so you get SMS), and any other applications you want to be notified with..
Boom, no annoying bleeping sound, and spam wont wake you.. If you have vibrate turned on though, your phone will still vibrate in your pocket when you get an email

Which firmware do you have because I've tried that but it's still not working?...
Edit --> Better yet where do you change the "global Notification tone"?
I can change the SMS tone, but I don't see the global Notification tone where I can change that to silent but still get SMS sounds?...
I use an automatic profile switcher its free from market and it sets my phone to silent at 21:00 and back to normal at 07:30 simples
Do wish 2.1 had this. I hate the fact that every notification uses the same tone from downloads complete to new emails and new text messages. It's kinda like moving backwards that you can't even set custom sms tones.

The Setup
Moto X (2013)
Android 4.4.4 (unrooted)
Network: Republic Wireless
The Story
It all started a couple of days ago, I lost my phone while at work, I logged onto the Motorola website, remote locked the phone, remotely left a message on the phone with my contact info, and then I made the phone ring remotely to bring it to attention of passers nearby. Shortly after I recovered my phone, I went to the settings and unlocked the phone as that is my prefered setting.
The Problem
Since I got the phone back I've noticed a problem with bluetooth and headphone audio and unusual behavior when unlocking the phone. 1st, when I unlock the phone it makes a noise, and it is the same sound that is used to indicate volume level when you raise or lower volume with the volume buttons, it no longer makes the "click" sound upon unlock. 2nd, whenever I listen to music, via bluetooth or headphones, and if i unlock the phone the audio switches over to the phones internal speakers, but the phone still thinks it is playing audio out of the bluetooth speaker or headphone. In order to get back on the bluetooth speaker I have to dissconect from the speaker and reconnect and for headphones I just to unplug and plug back in.
What I have tried
I have tried turning on and off my phone, Unpairing and reparing my device. I tried to go into my settings, find the bluetooth app and wipe the memory and disable and enable the app, but I could not successfully do that. Searched google and XDA for an answers but I can not find any results that I think resemble my problem. Please help oh great wise and powerful 1337 lords.
Edit* Something else I forgot to mention, another problem is now my phone will not stay in silent or vibrate, I can put it in those modes but as soon as I unlock it, the volume comes back on.
Try Settings > Sounds > Screen Lock Sound.
See if that is checked, or unchecked, toggle a few times and see if that helps?

It seems like something with the Moto Remote services might be interfering. Did you try going in and disabling the stuff on the website? Or disable to Moto app as an administrator in the settings so it stops overriding things? Seems like things are stuck in whatever the Moto app is trying to do if it thinks it's still lost?

The moto remote services theory has been in the back of my mind, I'll have to explore the website to see if there is an option to disable or reset the service. As far as disabling the moto app as an admin, is there something special I have to do in order the disable apps as in admin? I was under the impression that anything I did on my phone was done as an admin.

In Settings > Security > Device Administrators there should be a list of apps that are activated as admins. Try turning the Moto one off. Might be called Local Wipe Policy maybe?
Problem solved
So I was able to fix the problem!!!
What I did was log onto the motorola website used to track my phone. I made the phone ring ring from the website tracker. After I unlock the phone, I noticed that my phone stopped making the volume adjustment noise upon unlock. My phone is now properly playing bluetooth and headphone audio with out issue now. Thanks for suggesting that I go to the motorola website!
I play audiobooks through my Tab S2 and hook it up to my vehicle speakers via Bluetooth. Every time I start it up I must go through the checking off the earphone (which I am not even using) loudness warning and then increasing the volume to make it usable in my vehicle. This is awkward while driving. And now there is another new warning that apparently came with the latest update: it won't go to full brightness without me checking off the brightness warning first. Is there a way to get rid of these new annoyances?
On stock 6.0.1 it will ask you once and you can turn it off if need be.

I have Android version 7.0. It didn't ask me. How do I make it ask me so I can turn it off?
I honestly do not know. Maybe you'd need to disable some service..
So I just got a GS8. Fantastic phone. The only issue I am noticing is that when the phone enters "Do not Disturb" mode, it does not exit as scheduled. Typically it is set to turn on at 10 PM each night and turn off at 6 AM the next day. (save for the alarm that goes off at 5 AM). The alarm goes off fine. The phone, however, stays in "Do not Disturb" mode well past 6 AM and until I turn it off. Anyone else notice similar behavior? Could this result from the phone being connected to the A/C charger? I ask because when I set "Do not Disturb" to turn on and off at work it does so just fine. At work the phone is not connected to a charger.
I'm blanking on what it was, but I was running an app that was causing this issue. I've looked through my Google play library and just can't recall what it was. Might have had something to do with volume control. Start by removing anything you aren't using. If the problem persists, try removing anything that sounds like it could interact with audio or notifications until you find it. Worst case, factory reset, confirm issue is gone, then add things back until issue recurrs. I'll try again to jog my memory.

This gets weirder and weirder. So, I am coming from a Mate 9. on that phone I could set multiple Do Not disturb profiles. So I had one set for overnight (10 PM to 6 AM and one set for work hours (7 AM to 3:30 PM). Although the GS8 only allows one profile, it seems to have "remembered" the second profile. I say this because the phone went into "do not disturb" at 7 AM. I am not even sure how that's possible. I did restore apps via the google, but I cannot think of anything else besides what you are recommending. I may have to do a factory data reset as you recommend and set everything up.

You could turn off the built in Do Not Disturb and use an app like Do Not Disturb Plus to control the DND schedule.

You know, as long as I have had an android phone and I didn't think to do that. I should have. One issue I need to deal with is whether turning off the built-in Do Not Disturb disables that suspected hidden profile. If so, then I am good to go, if not, then I need to do the factory reset before using an app from the playstore (probably gives me more options than what Samsung allows).
Thanks.

Resetting the device did the trick. rather than restoring apps from the Huawei Mate 9, I started fresh and downloaded apps from the app store. A pain, but it worked. Thanks again.
Has anyone experienced their phone reverting back to ring instead of vibrate? I always have my phone on vibrate but lately it automatically goes to ring. Can someone tell me what's up with this
That happened to me with my note 7, but not with the 8

Maybe a factory rest or just turn your phone off and on.
This is happening to my phone as well and it seemed to happen randomly. I thought i might've not changed it to vibrate but it has since rang while at work multiple times when i KNOW i'm putting it on silent or vibrate.

Yes it happens randomly but I miss calls because it goes to the lowest ring volume so I can't even hear it.

Check that you havent set it up on a schedules or messed up Do Not Disturb. Theres a built in app that I think called Samsung Connect that allows you to connect to other samsung devices but, also lets you set what happens during certain times of day or when you get home. Like your ring turns down at 7pm or when you get home. Id check that out aswell.
