I received info about Android 9 Pie OTA upgrade today. I'm not sure what to do? Is it worth to install upgrade or not? I've heard a lot of bad experiences about Pie. Any suggestion about install this upgrade or not...
You can install it... But one note if you want about smaller bug... "After update please recovery your data../ reset data " ... I'm running with Pie but manual update.. and i'm not sure about many bug on this build [emoji4]

I got the update to Pie a few days ago and everything went smoothly and have new found any bugs yet.
I'm satisfied with the Pie, there are people that have returned back to Oreo. Your choise
Hi
I finally found someone who has an unlocked p20 pro and is willing to sell it to me (clt29).
But it's running stock 9.0. but I want to use Xposed very badly, that's why I chose this phone. Because it's the last flagship with an 8.x rom that has all the features i need.
But I read somewhere that once it's updated up l to 9.0 You can't roll it back to 8.0 because the security level or something stays on 9.0 or so and that messes with the rom so you can't root it anymore and can't use xposed. Is that true or can I safely buy this device and install an 8.0 rom and root it and use xposed?
Thanks for the help! Very much appreciated!

No you need to be on a matching base.
Oreo - Oreo pie - pie.
You can try but it'll most likely fail or cause some horrible anomalies you just don't want.

You're on Oreo asking if you can install a pie ROM!!
Answer is no.
If you're on Oreo then stick with Oreo
If you're on pie then stick with pie.
The base is the version you're on, stick to the base youre on rather than trying to mix it up.

There is 9.9.26 with MIUI 11. I'm using it and it's better than 9.9.6.

Hello forum.
I am on the latest BTU UK version
Of android 10, but I wish to
return to pie. Do I basically just flash
A pie stock ROM? I Want to
Use the light ROM or galaxy project ROM .... So is it straightforward?
Thank you
GARY
Check current bootloader version if it is higher than on old pie firmware than it is a no go otherwise just use Odin
You can flash Pie, version N960FXXS4CSK2

So...SK1 wouldn't work???
Bootloader version is 5th character when you count back from end of build number. It will be S4 or U4..the number is the bootloader you are on.

Did you manage to return back to Pie?
And do you mind me asking why you didnt get on with Android 10 UI2?
I'm on Pie UI1, and I'm concerned about updating and 'breaking' some of the current features that work on my Note9
Thanks

Android 10 takes a bit of getting used to (so does Android 11 DP1 on my Pixel 3XL) -
I downloaded Odin versions of pie SK1 and latest android 10 build, as well as the twrp for the different OS, have gone back and forwards between 10 and different roms on pie, and no problems, as long as you got backup, odin and a stock rom
I tried downgrading to pie Odin reads everything but doesn't flash. It says write failed after a long time. I am using Alienware laptop I'm not sure if there is something I'm supposed to do. Any ideas. Thanks

This is best your note 9 is on a newer bootloader. it is not possible to flash the old bootloader required for android pie
I was able to downgrade my Note 9 from android 10 to Pie pretty easily, but that was with the 1st release of android 10 for the Note 9. I think the newest version of android 10 has a different bootloader. So you would need to unlock the bootloader before you can downgrade to Pie.

that would be because youre on bootloader 4 and thus can downgrade to the latest pie version on bootloader 4

after two days of use, a syatem debloating, a settings optimizations, i think miui13 i better than 12.5. dark mode bug for apps is solved many functions of miui13 are missing, but i think will be implemented. updating to last systemui plugin, you can enable latest control center. so in my opinion is a good initial release.
IMPORTANT: IS NOT POSSIBLE UPDATE VIA MIFLASH. FASTBOOT VERSION IS NOT YET UPLOADED. ONLY WAY IS FROM GLOBAL VIA OTA OR TWRP. USER WITH PHONE BRICKED SURE HAVE FLASHED A WRONG VERSION. USE BRAIN BEFORE FLASH A FASTBOOT FIRMWARE IS IMPORTANT
there is anyway to flash CN version on cammelian/poco?

uh, some of the people in my country downloaded the update file in MIUI updater app found in playstore, they downloaded Poco M3 Pro miui 13 but they experienced soft brick, some updated using the updater in settings (settings - about phone - update) they still got softbrick. I wonder if its safe to update because no matter what "they" use they still get soft brick

miui 13 updater is not official. so i'm sure they have downloaded a wrong firmware. miui 13 global is not yet official, is only for pilot users like me

I also received both MIUI 13.0.1.0 and 13.0.2.0 OTA update notification for my Poco M3 Pro 5G even though I am not part of the Mi Pilot tester programme.
Have you updated to this release?
For this OTA update, did Xiaomi upgrade the Linux Kernel, Vendor and Modem firmware?
Currently, I chose to remain with Android 11 (MIUI 12.5.5.0) as most phone with Mediatek Dimensity 700 chipset haven't release the Android 12.
i have updated, but seems equal to first rel. i dont understand the sense of this update
edit: 13.0.2.0 is the stable ver. so all user could recive OTA from 12.5.5
tip: install manually latest systemui plugin for have new control center
edit2: before 48 hours, i have noticed 2 crashes of systemui when i recived a call with screen off. phone ring but google phone mask missed, no notification, unable to answer the phone call. maybe depends from system ui plugin update but i'm not sure
edit3: i have a new clean installation of miui 13. seems better than update from 12.5.5
I did a static analysis on the MIUI 13 13.0.2.0 Android 12 OTA update and I spotted that the Modem firmware is downgraded when comparing to MIUI 12 12.5.5.0 Android 11.
For Android 11 MIUI 12.5.5.0, the modem firmware version is MOLY.NR15.R3.MP.V4.3.P70
While for Android 12 MIUI 13.0.2.0, the modem firmware version is MOLY.NR15.R3.MP.V4.3.P68
I'm curious why MIUI 13.0.2.0 downgraded the modem firmware release back to the same version used for MIUI 12.5.4.0

it depends what you exprct from. miui have the best ram management i ever tried. if you want to trick, you can with root and franko kernel app. but i suppose you are expert, or keep default setting. my free ram is 2,3 from 1,2 average without gaming. in ny opinion is very very good. render graph is under green line. no lags. how you say terrible??? kernel stock is setted for the use of most user. i suppose u have a particular apps that need a custom ram management. for use more ram disable or reduce zram. for free up more ram disable bloatware.but change scheduler is the best solution for you. by default is cfg. schedutils is the best. but root needed for change

If I open a game or chrome or snapchat it shuts down my zepp app and disconnects my watch, it does this with my galaxy watch too using the galaxy wearable app
maybe galaxy watch is the problem. is made for Samsung phones. is not a ram problem in my opinion. you recive a out of memory message? i dont think so. search best settings of your watch with xiaomy devices

it think is not a ram management problem. seem an incompatibility issue. try aosp gsi via dsu. if the problem go away the problem is miui. and flashing gsi is the solution. otherwise is a vendor incompatibility. but not a ram issue
