What is model number and what region ?
Firmware versions are different by region and device model.
If you have any backup of stock ROM, then you can easily check correct firmware version that was installed on your device.
Another way is to pull/dump "utags" partition. It contains useful information of stock firmware that was previously installed..

Flash a compatible SPRINT baseband:
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
then erase modemst partitions
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst1
then reboot
fastboot reboot
Do you have service now? If now, you will most likely need to flash the ENTIRE stock Sprint SBF. Remember to NOT*** attempt to downgrade. Only flash the same, or higher version than what is installed on the device...
Also note that once you erase modemst partitions, you must repeat my entire sim-unlock procedure....

Thank you for your answer!
when I flash the NON-HLOS.bin and fsg.mbn , it said :'(bootloader) Variable not supported!' but then says"OKAY...finish..."
..It's this a problem?
and the first time I flash the 4.4.4 kikat , accidentally flash the baseband, then I reflash the baseband version between 4.4.2 and 4.4.4 system.
Will I brick the phone? I can still see IMEI NO. I just try the the 4.4 baseband still not work.

"Variable not supported" is totally normal.
Why are you flashing a 4.4 baseband? Flash at least the 4.4.2 baseband and try again...
You aren't at risk of bricking unless you attempt to downgrade motoboot.img or gpt.bin (Don't do that...).

the reason why I try the 4.4 baseband , is others are not working.
I only flash the baseband part, did not try the motoboot.img and gpt.bin.
so whats the solution now?
I have zero experience with the motoboot.img or gpt.bin.
can I flash it with the fastboot?

You have obviously misunderstood me....
I said that you should NOT*** flash motoboot or gpt (as downgrading these will result in brick).
Why not just try using RSD Lite or full manual method to do a complete return to stock? Find the thread in "General" titled "Return to 100% stock".

Remember: Do NOT attempt to downgrade (can result in brick). Only flash the SAME or HIGHER version of what is currently on the phone. If you are on 4.4.2, only flash 4.4.2.
Good Luck!
Complete return to stock means the xt1056 stock rom? or I can use the xt1060 rom?
beacause I can't use the xt1056 stock rom in here.

Hello there.
My G5s+ is suggesting a security update. But since I did unlock the bootloader and rooted it with magisk I did not install it.
My question is: What is the best way to update the phone?
Just flash the new stock rom? And where do I get those?
Thanks in advance.
Nobody here that can tell me how to upgrade?
Should I just flash the new version if I get it somewhere?

Unlocked bootloader will not affect the OTA installation..!
The reason the OTA-Update fails is that one of the boot, system, logo or recovery partitions are changed.
Magisk modifies the boot image.
On rooted device..OTA may brick the device..so avoid OTA installation..!
Reply your current build Number from about phone..
Do a clean flash.

Flash 26-11 full firmware
Where can I find full firmware versions of the stock rom to flash?
My build version is: NPSS26.116-26-4
As I understand it, there are two new security patches since that version? If I'm flashing one of the newer versions, is it just a case of dirty flashing it normally through twrp? No need to factory reset?

If that is the firmware build you need, you could try the firmware here: https://firmware.center/firmware/Motorola/Moto G5s Plus/Stock/ but ensure you download the correct firmware. (credit to: https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g5s-plus/how-to/xt1804-able-to-lock-bootloader-npss26-t3722572) Also, verify it is the firmware you require and was the latest firmware build on your device - please don't downgrade with stock firmware (else you may hard brick with OTA updates corrupting your bootloader)...
Stock OTA updates, as mentioned above, require fully stock firmware - they will not flash with root, modifications or TWRP (and attempting to flash via TWRP may soft bootloop your device). Thus, you must re-flash the stock firmware - you may be able to save your data by omitting the 'fastboot erase userdata' command and you do not have to re-lock your bootloader. However, I'm not familiar with the G5S Plus and I hope another user can provide you with flashing commands.
I would still recommend you make a backup of your device in TWRP and keep that safe, in case you have to wipe your data for stability.
Is there a firmware that can be flashed without going back to stock? I have LineageOS and want to update the vendor firmware without going back to stock and losing everything.

That doesn't update the vendor firmware. That only updates the OS.

Ah... So what is your current vendor firmware?
The vendor image is included with the rom. The bootloader and radio can be updated in recovery through adb. I haven't seen any zips that flash them. In my experience, updating the radio and bootloader sometimes ends up in bricks that require the blankflash files to recover.
Can I downgrade or am I stuck on Pie?
I had manually updated the firmware and bootloader is unlocked.

I saw one of your posts advising not to flash bootloader or gpt, will flashing these cause errors?

I managed to downgrade!
I basically followed the instructions here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g6/how-to/guide-faster-updated-guide-to-root-t3914228
Except I didn't flash gpt.bin and bootloader.img.
Hey @Ragarianok can you help me please? I want to downgrade and relock the bootloader of my moto g6 also. I would appreciate if you gave me your discord or something. Thanks!
The easiest thing to do would be to unlock the bootloader, flash recovery, and just install an Oreo rom (I recommend AOSP Extended) and Google apps
you could just flash an 8.x oero rom so there isn't anything to "downgrade" in the traditional sense. Also these Moto phones need sGSI and not just GSI , i think so.
tnx

I do not want to install a custom rom/ AOSP, I just want to downgrade and then relock the bootloader in the downgraded version.
I want to revert back to Oreo from Pie, but every Oreo stock ROM I install has no working wifi and it won't detect my SIM card. If I go back to a Pie stock ROM, everything works again. I've tried backing up and restoring EFS and Persist partitions with TWRP, but that didn't work. I've tried reflashing the modems through the command line, but that didn't work either. Can anyone help me out? Thanks.

I've done it before and it worked, I don't know why I'm having this problem now.
Once installing a stock I lost my imei, you have to delete these commands: fastboot erase modemst1 fastboot erase modemst2..

You can`t downgrade to Oreo from Pie with working SIM... since you install one of first Pie updates... I don`t remember what update exactly.. may be August 19
One only thing to have worked SIM for you - flash latest full Pie ROM via fastboot

That's a dumb thing for Motorola to implement. The reason I wanted to go back to Oreo is because when I send videos through text on Pie, they don't have any sound for the person I sent it to. I don't have this problem on Oreo. I guess I'm stuck with the problem now...
