I'm unable to play 60fps videos on youtube with my new Note 5. I've cleared cache/data. I've removed youtube updates and reapplied them. I don't even see an option for 60fps on known supported videos. My old S4 plays them just fine though. Any idea?
Were you able to fix your issue? I still can't view 60fps on my note 5

I have a Verizon Note 5 and I can watch 60 fps videos up to 1080p...1440p at 60 fps is not an option for me. Do you not have the option for 60 fps at all?
I edited my edge+ to SM-G925F (normal S6 edge) and that worked perfectly
Good luck!
cant edit the build prop, im not rooted. any other way to fix this?
Any solution for non rooted devices ?

Thanks that worked well for us!
So I've watched a few 4K videos, and I've watched a few 4K 60 frames per second videos, and both of those seem to work pretty well on this unlocked Note 8. However when I actually try to watch the HDR videos I get some pretty significant lag and choppiness, even when watching 1080p HDR. Does anybody else see this happening on their device?

You're not the only one
I too am having an issue in YouTube on the Note 8 wherre anything played back above 720p60 HDR becomes super slow and unwatchable in terms of something thats supposed to be 60fps. If you stick to 720p60 HDR for now you won't have that problem. Hopefully Google pushes out an update for YouTube asap
LG V30 stutter at 1080p HDR and above
I am experiencing the same problem too, my New LG v30 has the same issue. My internet speed is over 200mbps and I experience lag like crazy. I called Google about it and they said it is an issue on several devices and should be fixed in the coming months.
I have the same problem. Huge lag and audio sync lag when viewing videos in HDR
US unlocked note 8 , and no troubles here watching HDR. No lag or stuttering. Can you link a specific video and I can try that and let you know what happens.

View in 2160p and you'll get lag on HDR video, including voice and video sync issues.

Ok, unless I am doing something different, I still can not get it to stutter or have audio sync issues. I have watched Marco polo on Netflix that is supposed to be 4khdr. I have watch almost all 4k Samsung demos on you tube. I have 100 mbps internet going to a 5ghz wireless router, and sir about 20 ft from it. I can't find the setting in Netflix app to set 2160p , but can find settings in YouTube. I will keep trying.

In youtube you should see 2160p hdr settings otherwise no real hdr i think

Well I tried it.. US unlocked and works GREAT! I notice some SAY HDR yet are not. I tried setting the screen different sizes and I dont get lag. That being said.. some can really tell...it could be me. I think WIFI and things running in back ground can effect it.. duh.. But I don't get lag. US unlocked SnapD

I've watched that video just now (plus other 4K HDR videos on YouTube) in 1440p settings and I get zero lag anywhere. I've got an exynox Indonesian Note 8, watching on a WiFi connection that is originally only 30mbps then routed through a tp-link powerline router (max 10mbps).

I watched this video , smooth as silk. Wonderful video, love all of the snakes , but frame rate was smooth, nothing choppy or laggy. I only had the option up to 1440p , and that is what I watched it in.

Some HDR videos lag but some dont. Ive also had youtube crash and the phone restart for a total of 6 times, 3 on the first unit and 3 on this bnew replacement.

No lag on this video but i dont see it being indicated as HDR just 1440P, I think we might need to add more details when testing. I suggest everyone who claims smooth/stuttery enable stats for nerds on youtube and make sure to report if the video format shows 2560x1440 ( as sometimes youtube will still display 1080p even if you have 1440p selected ) and then mention if its 1440p, 1440p HDR or 1440p60 HDR.
A good example is to try this video and make sure video format shows 2560x1440

There is a very minor stuttering especially if you are sensitive to it, I asked someone do a blind test on me on a random scene on the clip and 10/10 I was able to tell it correctly. The stuttering is not buffering related. But Im glad that you are not sensitive to the stuttering. I was able to also test this 4 snapdragon variants and 2 on exynos all of which had same results. I think this is a bug on the player as it only stutters when playing in full screen.
Exynos India version and yes, even i observed this stuttering last night. Its quite annoying though. Let me know if you guys find any solution.

It has to say 1080 HDR or 1440 HDR for the stutter if it does not say HDR then you are not watching at the same quality as us with the issue.
Watched it after I turned on nerd stats , 1440p60hdr setting, and sorry to report, it was quite smooth. The colors were vibrant and scenes with the sunlight were quite realistic.

I'm glad i'm not alone. Youtube crashed and restarted my phone too. Have had the phone for 1 month and happened twice. I think it's an app problem at this point
Edit: I also tried several HDR 1440p 60fps (Peru 8k HDR 60fps FUHD) video and it lags. Have the Exynos version of the Note 8
Hello
Anyone having the same problem?
In note 8 can play eveything.
Maybe the app is not optimized.
How do you test that? What happens when you try?
Have you tried doing it in the desktop version of youtube in the Samsung browser or chrome?
I just tried it here, working fine in the YouTube app!
Yes, It Can. Check the attached Thumbnails.

Yeah i know
before i had the note 8, no problem at all
i can play all videos in 60FPS.
now the note 9 can't, only the videos that i can play is 60FPS HDR that youtube recommended for Signature device.
but the other videos that anyone uploded in 60FPS can't see it. only Normal Resolution 720p or 1080p or 1440p.

and the phone is in our retail stores, and because im a vip person, they gave me the phone earlier before the official release.
Please provide a link to a video file and instructions how to be sure it plays at certain fps.
Thanks.

I searched for this particular video and it isn't 60fps.
Try that one: https://youtu.be/1La4QzGeaaQ
At least for me it gives 60fps options. The one with dead space walkthrough - didn't

Hi,
Anybody had HDR working on their phone? I have a hdr moniker in both Amazon prime and Netflix, but neither actually play back in HDR. Also there is no difference between HDR on/off in pubg mobile. I'm starting to wonder if this phone is capable.
Yup. I see it working in Netflix. Also the phone came pre loaded with an hdr 10 sample video which does work.

Should be it is listed many places as having HDR 10+. I haven't tried but will now.
Edit yea Netflix says it is not compatible....
Quoted from reviews "One thing worth noting is that Netflix does not support HDR playback on the FE as of writing this - YouTube and Amazon Prime Video, on the other hand, do, so the phone definitely supports HDR, but it will be up to Netflix to enable the streaming support in HDR. The DRM Info app reports the phone is indeed capable of HDR10, HDR10+, and HLG playback, and it has Widevine Level 1." They need to support it. The hardware is there.

Neither Netflix nor Prime shows in HDR for me on the S20 FE. Youtube detects the display is HDR capable, but does not seem to activate HDR (e.g., by maxing the brightness). My guess is Samsung caught these content providers by surprise with the release of the S20 FE, so they haven't had time to certify the display and make sure it works correctly with their services.
try the original youtube App not a modded Version.
It does HDR for me with high Brightness.
But sometimes the brightness stutters a bit.

I can confirm HDR works. Just blinded myself watching some Costa Rican video.
It is no for me. Youtube app or vanced, no hdr effect.
Edit. Youtube app shows me hdr content but brightness changes too frequent.

Hi!
This issue is fixed?
I want to purchase the device and before that I want to know if the HDR support exists on Netflix.
Can someone please share a screenshot at "App settings - Reproduction specification" in the Netflix app?
Best Regards

Thanks a lot @maik005 !
Samsung/Netflix forgotten about the HDR support for this device.
I will buy the device. Have nice specs for the price ratio.
Let's hope for some fix in a early future
But at least have Full HD... Better than nothing
Other than Netflix can HDR10 file be played with regular video players like MX Player and the Android stock video player?
HDR UHD 4K Demos | 4K Media
UHD 4K demos with HDR (high dynamic range), this expands the range of both contrast and color significantly.
4kmedia.org
I can play them without a problem.
But the display stays at low brightness and it does not look like HDR even with B
max brightness.
Tested with VLC and Samsung Video Player.
Now the S20 FE is on the Netflix HDR supported devices list
Maybe after a system update we can finally watch HDR content
