Hey all,
Just curious what the difference is between vanilla android and the one by cmod. I know they are both similar to the stock android OS but did not understand anything more than that. Can someone please elaborate?
Thank you.
not development related, please move to Q&A or General.
CyanogenMod is based on AOSP. AOSP = Android Open Source Project (android as google designed it). CyanogenMod makes improvements and changes and tweaks to AOSP.
it's all down to preference, but most people agree CM is an improved version of AOSP.
Hi guys
Can someone professional explain what is the exact differance among these code providers?

AOSP - Android Open Source Project - unmodified clean Android without additional features, vanilla Android
CM - CyanogenMod - an aftermarket firmware for a number of cell phones based on the open-source Android operating system. It offers features not found in the official Android based firmwares of vendors of these cell phones.
AOKP - Android Open Kang Project - something like CM, but different
Try to use Google, it will answer all your questions.
Does anyone know what the difference is between AOSP and AOKP?

Aosp = android open source project

Basically AOSP means pure android, compiled from AOSP Google source.
AOKP ROMs are based off AOSP, but include many mods and tweaks. Some come from all over the place, hence the name 'kang'. They are compiled originally from AOSP sources but highly modified.
AOSP is pure Google android
AOKP is a custom ROM project, like CM based on AOSP

That's pretty awesome. But do you need to be running a rom to use it or can I install it to my stock unbolted phone?
Ok I'm deciding between AOSPA or AOSPAE,
So AOSPA is paranoid Android
And AOSPAE is paranoid Android extended
In your guy's personal experience, which one should I go for?
Really? read their ****ing first post and decide on your own.
No one knows if you need the extra features of the extended rom

Click to collapse
I will with Extended because it not only has extra features, but also release faster..AOSPA is on 7.2.1 but Extended is on 7.2.2
