CRR-L09 and CRR-UL00 - any difference?

Hi, just got mine Mate S, Chinese market model(UL00).

Is there any difference in models and can I flash firmware for European version on to mine phone becouse I don't want to deal with all these 50 chinese apps

PS I'm switching from LG G3 and Meizu MX4 Pro, so just first impression after 4 hours of tests:
1) fingerprint works amaizing, much better than Meizu.
2) the phone body is very solid and looks nice
3) sounds quialilty is good but Meizu is better, which was expected.

Dual SIM
In the Gsmarena specs page it says that dual SIM is optional. Does anybody know which one of the two models is dual SIM?

I think it means it's optional in the sense that you can either run dual sim or one sim and a micro sd card. One of the slots act as either. I know that's how it is with the UL00 version.

Maybe you're right, although I interpret from Huawei's web page that the L09 version might have a single SIM (the GSM network specs for the UL00 shows 2 cards and the L09 only one?).

Only the CRR-UL00/64GB version is dual sim (maby the 128GB version will be to when it comes). Optional referes to that you can either have sim + sdcard og sim + sim configuration, as one slot doubles as sdcard and sim slot.

I too have just taken delivery of a Chinese sourced CRR-UL00 and would like to know if and how it can be flashed to a European or International version in order to remove the Chinese oriented 'stuff'? I have removed a lot of the Chinese Apps manually, but would be a bonus to build as a non Chinese version.
Othewise early impressions are favourable of a very well built and good looking device... loving the rear mounted fingerprint reader.​

Any news? I have seen somting about twrp and a kernel released but i really don't know how to root this phone!

I am about to order the CRR-UL00 DUAL SIM. However I have some questions as this isn't an European version.
Will I get support from HUAWEI when it is broke? I am not sure about this. Asked it Huawei, but they didn't respond.
Secondly what OS languages are available? Would for instance English and Dutch be available on it or other keyboard layouts like AZERTY? Can somebody confirm this?
What about the Chinese apps? Can you delete them? Or if not, put them all into a folder to deny them?
Are there other things on this Asian model in which I can run into trouble after purchase?

If you by this means if you will get EU warranty from Huawei, then no you should not expect that. You would have to ship it back for repair or pay to get it done localy at your own expence.

About any language is avalible on the stock firmware, Dutch and English is included. Keyboard layouts too, or you can simply download a keyboard from Google Play.

You can delete most of them, and deactivate the few apps that cannot be uninstalled.

Google Service is important for China mobiles, as they are not pre-installed in China. On Huawei Mate S CRR-UL00 the will not be installed, but you can download them from the Huawei App Store "HiApp". They work without problems for me on my CRR-UL00.

Thanks a lot for your answers! Strange as I can purchase the P8 Premium Gold Edition through Vmart (Huawei) in Belgium. This is a dual sim version with the same version as the Mate S. This is sold with warranty but normally they don't advertise this model in Europe.
Anyway.. I think the Mate S dual Sim is the better choice over the P8 Dual Sim IMO. Any constrains?

Yes it is a bit strange tha Huawei seems to only sell their low spec models in EU - actually a surprise to me that you can get the 64GB P8 here. For the Honor 7 and Mate S I have only seen the 16GB and 32GB models from official stores.
I did not go for the P8. The P8 has no fingerprint reader, also the screen and general build quality is to me superior in the Mate S. The AMOLED screen is really beautiful.

Ah, so we're talking grey market. In that case first will be eBay but which outfits are hard to guess. One of those will likely be reasonably reliable, seems like the international phones didn't get the jump US phones did though, my FD didn't ship until Friday.

I saw that one but it's missing a couple bands. Looking for the UK Dual SIM as it seems to have all the bands the US does....

It's not FD, it's single SIM, Korean model, it's clearly stated in the description.

Yep, it's FD, both SIMS in and working fine. No, it's not region locked. Yes, it's a carrier phone. No, you are not stuck with useless bloat, it's stock Sammy but downloads a few apps during setup which you can delete. You didn't ask but you'll be glad to know they threw in a US Samsung charger.
I'm not sure if this constitutes taunting or not but I haven't been on Sammy since the Note 7 and I'd forgotten how many features they have salted all over the place. I've been screwing around for hours and still haven't got my setup in yet.
Oh, one other, other thing. I didn't see any way to enable LTE on both SIMS, it seems you can do either one but not both together. Isn't an issue for me but that bugs some people although I don't recall ever having a phone that could.

Please post USA network experience, rom versions, hints and tips, OTA (or other) method used to get updates, where purchased, etc.

In about two weeks I'll probably be ordering one for use on AT&T, also. Love to hear some experiences.

I have an Essential phone that is going back. It isn't terrible, but does occasionally lag. Mostly I don't like the size. and the signal level inconsistency. Also a Pixel XL 2 that is going back. The pIxel is such a nice phone - except for the screen. And I have come to realize I DO NOT LIKE the new extended vertical size format and that I enjoyed my Nexus 6 better than any phone I have had. The Mate 10 seems like just what I want. Although software updates may be nonexistent.

Just got my mate 10 from seller in ebay from Houston. Was in Chinese language.
Now I have to look into the rebranding stuff.
Didn't realize that would be the case. Maybe it's on me for buying from eBay. Will see if I can get used to it.

Got my mocha brown L29 yesterday I'm using it on T-Mobile and have not had any issues so far. I'm coming from the Huawei mate 9 pro and the mate 9 before that. I would have stayed with the mate 9 pro for a bit longer but I found a US seller on ebay who was taking offers. I had a $40 off coupon from ebay from recently selling a phone so $535 later I had purchased the Mate 10.
My only complaint is that he did remove the screen protector but ordered a tempered glass as soon as I purchased the phone it just hasn't arrived yet. Everything else was untouched seller claimed he didn't like the phone after playing with it briefly in his bedroom.

No I don't see an option for it on my model.

I've got VoLTE working on T-Mobile at least (thanks T-Mobile testers!). It should be possible to port over the AT&T blobs for VoLTE and wifi calling as well. I will post more news soon.

I got mate 10 pro Bla-L29 (432) no volte and wifi calling on T-mobile(us), but lte works fine.
does anyone knows which firmware is the best for Tmobile(us)

If you want to test, please contact FunkyHuawei support. You'll need an unlocked bootloader.

Also, anyone with a Verizon sim and a Mate 10 or 10 pro with unlocked bootloader, please let me know. I don't think VoLTE will work, but I want to try it to prove a theory.

I later find out that Samsung will sell dual sim version through normal shops and single sim with all operators ( vodafone, telstra etc )
now that's my question.
will I be able to use dual sim if I buy a sim tray which allows 2 sim and flashing a firmware from dual sim version or the dual sim version has a different hardware too?

Previous single sim samsung phones only had one sim card reader.

Yes,I ordered the purple 8/512 about 24hrs ago,from T-MoUS,expecting delivery by this Friday.
There's a lot to like,my favorite improvements include the 8GB RAM & the blockier/less-rounded edges. :good:

Im going to go for the copper version, can get the 128gb now but will wait for the 512gb for another week or so.
Really debating going with an n9600 instead of a exynos version for once just to try the snap out. At least the BL isnt locked on it so i can have root and twrp

N9600 will work on vz too. I had the hk snap s8+. Worked well.

Has the same bands as hk s8+ does. No reason it shouldn't work. I was even able to get volte working on it, once I got it rooted.

Agreed its just that people are looking to hear from someone that has had a HK snap device working on verizon.
Your the first person ive come across who has personal experience in this regard.

You should open a thread on it for sure. I know with the S9 and S9+ they just had to flash the Puerto Rico firmware to get signal. I'm definitely trying it when the firmware is released. Maybe the shipping firmware will work out of the box this time though.

It works fine on VZW, except no volte...Once root is established, we should be able to enable it. Unfortunately, there is zero dev support for this device.

I bought a P30 pro, 256GB with a Huawei Watch GT (a "gift") , at 3.dk in Denmark for DKK 5.160 i.e. ~ $ 775 + ~$7 a month more than I used to pay for the network. It is to be delivered next week.
I know nothing about the version no., but hope it is European 432. Dual-sim should be included.
I have been quite happy with my P20 pro, but unhappy with slow very slow updates. But after a year of updates the camera i absolutely faboulous now, which it was not to begin with.
According to our DXO friends in France the P30 pro is the absolutely best on photografing, so I am looking forward to see if they are right there

So Amazon UK has it for pre-order with delivery by April 6... was able to place an order here in the USA... Funny enough, Amazon France has it as well but won't... I'll see if they scrap my pre-order but in my recent experience with the Xiaomi Mi 9, if the order is in, it charges ok and then its golden... fingers cross. Should get it before April 9th!!!!

It should go through. I ordered the Huawei super car charger from there and it said couldn't be delivered to the US. I got it a few days later. Already placed my order for the P30 pro from Amazon UK.

Mine in black arrived today and it is nice. Was able to get a 256GB / 8GB setup from an overseas contact for a little of a shipping premium. It's awesome. Worth getting however you can:good:

Mine in black arrived today and it is nice. Was able to get a 256GB / 8GB setup from an overseas contact for a little of a shipping premium. It's awesome. Worth getting however you can:good:

Just about all new phones but my daily recently was Mate 20 Pro. I can say without a doubt this is better and better then S10 and Xiaomi Mi 9 and Google Pixel 3 XL and Nokia 9

Any chance you have TMobile? Highly doubt it but can you see if there is a Wi-Fi calling option?

TMobile of course but yes no wifi calling since its not a phone available in the US even though I heard TMobile overseas has it as an offering. I haven't dig into that aspect to see if I can. I do know that you can always do the the Google voice workaround but really isn't a factor for me currently :angel:

I purchased mine from TechnoLec U.K. and got the unlocked Global / U.K. version for use in the USA. I did not get the best deal, but I didn't want to mess with some of the other people on eBay that seemed a little sketchy. These guys are authorized and they had 100% ratings. Hopefully it works out.

Yep got mine yesterday from overseas from a guy o know. Received yesterday, black 256GB / 8GB dual SIM international version. It's great

Can you confirm the phone has VOLTE on TMO US?
Place a call with wifi off and see if it still says 4g LTE.
Or download Network Cell Info Lite from playstore and go to the Device + Sim and see if VoLTE capable says "Yes".

VoLTE confirmed. Wifi Calling of course is not supported with Huawei and TMO USA

I believe one is International (VOG-L29) and the other is U.K. (VOG-L09). The bands are the same. Th VOG-L29 is "hybrid dual SIM"

I also got the unlocked UK VOG-L09 and it should be the same as the other.
