Mate 20 Pro price in my country: about 940$ so Mate 20X will be cheaper
Pre-order Mate 20 Pro to get Huawei Watch 2 + Huawei Wireless Fast Charging Pad for free
So Mate 20X even cheaper than cheaper

My Biggest question is like the Honor Note 8 that I have and works great with AT&T, will this work the same, I really dont care about 4G or LTE as I do get /3G/HDSPA+ on it and I'm good with that, If it works like my HN8 it will be my next phone!
price is 5000yuan for 6+128 model on jd.
not bad news, I afraid about 7000y. also pro and base mate20 are mch less than in eu
have to spend 2000 RMB for a newer processor and better camera, I don't want to.
Not sure if I want to give up my 256gb micro sd for a puny 128gb nano memory card that costs more.

Any one here using Wind Italy coz I see on my carrier ( WIND Italy ) has #7 (2600)
LTE band and also mi note pro has #20 (2600) LTE is it possible to use 4G?
Because I don't want to change my carrier..and if its not, its impossible for me to use this handset.
Thanks in advance.
Only one version
2600 and 1800 working in 4g. No 800.
I think I saw people living in Italy using Mi Note Pro.

No 4g+ for you as for me but 4g on one band is still quite fast.

My carrier has #7 (2600) LTE frequency is it enough to use 4G with that frequency?
Depends on the area you live.. In Germany (T-Mobile), 2600 MHz is used in areas with many people (airports, city centers, ...), 1800 MHz in the rest of the city and 800 MHz in the countryside.
But you say that you are using Wind.. Look here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_LTE_networks_in_Europe
When the list is correct (but I think it is, for Germany is everything correct, too), Wind has ONLY band 200 (800MHz). So you cant't use 4G, in no area!!!
The other providers (3, TIMM and Vodafone) use other bands and not 800 MHz, so with the 3 providers you can use LTE everywhere, where you can also use it with an european phone...

I'm about to buy a OnePlus 3T.
I live in Sweden and travel in Europe from time to time.
Will the A3010 work well for me (even with 4G)?
I have already looked at willmyphonework.net/ but it only says:
"Device is compatible with some of the network carriers frequencies. It may work."
What practical advantages would I notice with a A3003(European version) vs the A3010(China version)?

The main difference between OnePlus 3T A3003 and A3010 is the A3003 supports LTE band 1/3/5/7/8/20/38/40, which is the international model while A3010 supports LTE band 1/3/5/7/8/38/39/40/41, which is the China model.
basically you wont have support for this bands on 4G

The only LTE band that is missing on A3010 is Band20. Most of Sweden network carriers are using Band7 so you are good to go. When you go aboard is a different story. But you are also more flexible because you can chose the roaming network. All you have to do is to chose a supported network carrier.

I'm confused by this. By those numbers it seems that the China model covers all the numbers as the Europe mode,l plus a few more. If so, then what bands are missing?
Or doesn't it work that way? Please help me understand
Edit: Oh... I missed to see band 20. But what does it mean practically that the China model misses band 20? How will I notice it?

On a network that is using Band20 you'll have only HSDPA connectivity. Basically the phone will work just fine except the fact you won't have LTE connectivity. You'd have only 2G/3G/H+

Thank you. It's getting somewhat clearer. Okay, but how likely am I to run in to Band20? Is that band (the only one missing from China model) more likely to be used than any of all of the other bands that are listed?

I'll give you the UK example. In UK there's 3 LTE bands in use: 3,7 and 20. Other put 2600Mhz, 1800Mhz and 800Mhz (that's Band20 btw...). Only O2 is using only Band 20. All other providers are using at least one extra LTE band. EE is using all three LTE bands, Vodafone is using band 3 and band 20 and Three is using band 7 and band 20.
Now here is the thing... Those network checkers are telling that your device might work. But is not always the case. Here is the Vodafone UK example. As I said they are using Band 3 and Band 20. Now let's take a phone with Band3 but not Band 20 (for example my former Xiaomi Mi5). Will work on LTE but only in urban areas. Why? Because in rural areas the band used are band 7 and 20. Why? Lower frequencies are better at travelling long distances so are more suitable for rural areas where there are fewer masts. Also Band 20 provide better indoor coverage. But if you live in an urban area Band 3 and 7 are more likely to be used. The higher the frequency means higher capacity and therefore the ability to deal with more users which is a must in an urban area.
All in all the best way is to call your provider and ask what frequency they are using in YOUR area. If they are using 1800Mhz or 2600Mhz you are good to go. If not...I'm sorry.

Just for my curiosity why are interested on a China version and not on a Europe one?
Here is the list of LTE bands used by Sweden network carriers. Take a look at it and you'll see if China version is good to go on your provider.
If you're primarily going to use it in Sweden, I would go with the A3003 (that's what I did, but then I seldom leave Jämtland ?).

Okay. Now I understand things a lot better too.
I use Telenor (and spend quite some time in Jämtland (rural) like another poster here:good.
Well I plan to buy my phone on ebay and the annoying thing is that the A3003 is about $100 more expensive than the A3010. I still think it is hard to decide if it will be worth an extra $100 for the Europe version...
You should not only consider LTE Bands, but also consider LTE CA.
Hong Kong/ Europe Model (A3003)
FDD-LTE/ 4G: Bands 1/3/5/7/8/20
TDD-LTE/ 4G: Bands 38/40
LTE CA / 4G+:
B3+B7, B3+B8, B3+B20, B7+B20, B3+B3, B3C, B7+B7, B7C, B40C
China Model (A3010)
FDD-LTE/ 4G : Bands 1/3/5/7/8
TDD-LTE/ 4G: Bands 38/39/40/41
LTE CA/ 4G+:
B1+B3, B39+B41, B39C, B40C, B41+B41, B41C,B38C
American Model (A3000)
FDD-LTE: Bands 1/2/4/5/7/8/12/17/30
LTE CA/ 4G+:
B2+B12, B2+B17, B4+B7, B4+B17, B12+B30,B2+B2, B2C, B4+B4, B4+B12, B4+B5, B2+B5
Ok. I ended up buying the EU-version as I found one that was just $40 more expensive.
Many thanks for making this more understandable guys! *thumbs up*

I don't have the Mi Max 2, but the Zenfone 3 Ultra which has similar bands. I lack all the LTE Bands except for Band 5. I can confirm that in all major cities I have been to I get LTE through band 5. Heck, even in my city which is only about 300,000 strong I get 4G/LTE in half of it. Seems like AT&T is really ramping up their band 5 LTE service.

Thanks for sharing the info. I looked up your phone and if you have the global version it appears you have more LTE bands available than the Mi Max 2. Namely bands 2,4 and 17. While ATT does provide LTE for band 5 I won't get my hopes too much for LTE. As long as I can get strong HSPA+ that's enough for my needs

Yes and no.... My understanding (someone correct me if I'm wrong) is it'll probably get LTE on bands 3 or 5 but the other AT&T bands aren't supported so you may not get great LTE coverage.
These are At&T 4g lte bands 2, 4, 5, 12, 17 1900, 1700 abcde, 700

I think they just added the 5Z to the US website in the last day or two (link: https://www.asus.com/us/Phone/ZenFone-5Z-ZS620KL/). I'm pretty sure it wasn't there earlier in the week. Hopefully that means the US launch is very soon. Not sure what that $1,999 price is though....probably just a placeholder for whatever the final price will be.

The 4th is when it's coming out in India. While I could get announced/released on the 4th in the US, I have a feeling it won't. My guess is an announcement sometimes within the next two weeks with a release mid-july
ASUS rep. confirmed that 5Z will be released in the US, but the 5 won't (only the global version, which is already available). The 5Z will be released in mid or late August. (This date is also confirmed on phonearena: https://www.phonearena.com/news/Asus-ZenFone-5Z-ROG-Phone-release-date-US_id106236)
Personally I think it sucks that they announce a phone in February, but you can only buy it in (late) August. Though the phone is already available in Europe and many parts of Asia it should be noted that the 5Z's camera app is unfinished. It doesn't even have pro mode and panorama mode, while the cheaper Zenfone 5 has all of these features.
That timing sucks. I was hoping it would be available sooner. In my quest to find the perfect phone for my needs, I picked up an Essential phone and surprisingly I really like it (I thought it would be too small and I've read tons of negatives about it online). I'll probably still pick up a 5Z when it's available because I really like the 5 except for the speed (it's not horrible but it is slow compared to the current 835/845 phones).
Mid to late August is ridiculous. Chances are I'll end up getting a U12+ before then as I need to upgrade soon. I was really looking forward to this device.
They should be running the same app as they are both using the exact same camera (as far as I know anyway). Weird. Maybe it's just a Play Store update away.
Wish they would hurry up

I'm glad it'll be available soon. The silver model isn't available for pre-order yet...hopefully that'll change very soon.
Good. The day after my birthday so I'll make sure I grab it sometime around then

I don't like that they're limiting the US version to 64GB internal. I know it has expandable storage, but I've had bad experiences with SD cards in the past, and some apps just want to use the internal storage.
I did find a 256GB version at banggood here, but I've never bough from them, and while it doesn't specifically say which version it is (A/B/C), I'm thinking C because it lists bands for CDMA, which only the C version has (according to ASUS' site)

It's possible a 256GB (w/ US warranty...) variant doesn't exist. I would take the listing with a grain of salt until it pops up on another US store like Bestbuy or Newegg.
It's also likely that the Amazon page is incomplete or a WIP.
Edit: It says this in the Q&A section
"Only the 64GB version is being offered in the North American region."
Hi all, i'm planning to get the Tencent version for 540$ (8/128gb to be specific) but i'm worried about the compatibility of the phone with LTE bands in Germany. If anyone have an answer, please share with me.
Thanks.
Check which bands your carrier uses and then check against the bands supported by the phone. You can get the LTE Discovery app and check which band you're currently using also.
How I can add LTE Band 20 to firmware?

If we are speaking about the 128GB/8GB version it's compatible as long as you dont need band 20 - e.g. if you are living in the city. The 512GB/12GB version also has LTE band 20. But both phones can be used in Germany.

You cannot add this feature to the firmware, this is hardware related.
