Unlock time extended by other 360 hours - Xiaomi Mi 8 Questions & Answers

Hi guys, 15 days ago I've tried to unlock the bootloader, but gave me 360 hours to wait. Okay then, today I see that I need another 414 hours.
What's that insane logic? I've been waiting too long and I need other half month?
I didn't tried any alternative method, just waited for the unlock time. And now..?
Someone could help me or give me an explanation?

The new black is now 720 hours...

I got 720 hours yesterday on the first try.
Death where is thy Sting.

If anyone wants to unlock mi8 faster, pm me

First I have 360 hours, now 720 !!!

There is a way.....

Can you please tell us the way ,i bought my phonr 2 weeks ago,i want to have root permissions, thanks in advance!

i don't think there is a way to bypass it anymore ,tried some options, only with account from 2015 or before that, but even if you have account from that tim ,it's not 100% sure, that you won't wait 720 hours .If i have to wait another 720 hours for unlocking the bootloader,i will sell my device and never buy another xiaomi device

Alternative bootloader unlock?

Anyone know an alternative bootloader unlock? I'd rather not wait 3 days to do this...
There's no alternative, gotta wait the 3 days or more. I unlocked the bootloader earlier this month on a Tuesday night, waited till I had free time and rooted on a Saturday morning...
I think if you know someone who has unlocked an other xiaomi phone he can do it for you.
Did that on a friends xiaomi mi mix with my account.
You may not have to wait that long. I only waited a few minutes.

Your phone is hard bricked. But u can fix it using dc phoenix if computer can still detect comm from the phone. U need to pay 15 euro i think to use the software. I did recover my phone while ago using that method.

LoL. So if I got it right..You bricked your phone and wont spend 15 USD to get it repaired. And instead you bought an S9+ for 700 USD and still you blame Huawei?

im gonna spend the 15 to fix it probably but I bought the s9+ before i found out how and i didnt really blame huawei, im just saying since they stopped providing bootloader unlock codes, the support people will have for it will be alot less.

I agree ... Huawei system updates and verifications is so much pain in the ass so it is better (for Huawei) to stop providing unlocking codes. The failure rate is too big
I love Huawei for the camera performance, but next time i will buy a Google pixel 3 xl (camera performance almost the same and big XDA comunity).

Tried the same thing and it worked for me too! Now my bootloader is unlocked. My Mi 8 is a global version. Thanks!

I think there is a limit to unlock 1 phone per month. If you have unlocked a phone already this month then you will get 30 days waiting on the next phone. Try again on the 1 September and see if the wait time goes back to 7 days.
That sucks. I hate Xiaomi lol.

This is correct ! It's better to make an another ID and get done after 7 days if one needs to unlock mutiple devices.

Trying to understand Xiaomi unlock wait times is about the same as trying to understand quantum string theory.
However this one theory does seem to have some credibility. Someone had the same issue either 1 or 2 months ago. They had unlocked a Xiaomi phone earlier in the month and when it came to the K20 Pro they had 30 days wait. But a couple of days later, on the 1st of the month the wait period changed, I think to 7 days. Unfortunately I can't find the original post to link to, it will be somewhere in these K20 Pro sub forum's.

If you do this option, you will need a different email and phone number. The email is easy, but the phone number needs to be verified and have the SIM in your phone to start the unlock process. So if you only have one SIM, you will need to borrow one for a short time.
People have tried removing their email and phone number from their existing MIUI account, then adding them to a new account, but it seems there are checks for this as the new account still had long wait times.

Bad Xiaomi....
I will test again whene beginning new month.
and i made a second account just to be sure... need to unlock 2 devices lol.
I have test now with a new account and get 7 days now.
I got mine yesterday, and have 168 hours wait time (7 days)
If this appeared after you unlock bootloader for the second time, there's a workaround for this. Try using older version of mi unlock. I used the method for my K20 pro (china) after soft-bricking it. I locked the phone's bootloader accidentally after flashing the wrong ROM with mi flash.
I used this version specifically, I advice you to use this version too just to be safe :
miflash_unlock-en-2.2.624.14.zip
I got 30 days. Tried 2 accounts.
Tried again to unlock with 2 accounts today. It's now 168h! :good:

Don't interchange account now and don't leave your device unused. Otherwise it'll remain 168hr.

Question TurboCharger, super slow

Hi all,
I'm hoping you geniuses can help.
So I bought this Motorola Ultra 30 phone for it's advertised 12 minute for a full charge.
I didn't expect 12 minutes, I expected half an hour.
This thing takes 4 hours to charge with the 125watt supercharger.
It was sent to a company called SBE by Mototorla for repair, but it's no better.
Motorola don't really offer any help other than to say to do a battery calibration but we all know that doesn't actually exist. It didn't work anyway.
Anybody have any solutions before I trash this phone? I can't return it as they warranty is junk anyway as has been proven, and it's passed it's 30 day money back.
Regards
Wayne.
