There's some weird and repeated settings (as can be seen in the attached image) on my Galaxy Tab S2 demo unit, i researched the cause of this and apparently it's to do with not flashing all the right files.
I downloaded the latest software on Sammobile and flashed it to my tablet using odin, only the AP md5 file as BL CSC etc files weren't. Everything went smooth and my tablet was updated but the settings are still messed up.
Anyone know what's going on?

That's the thing, on every firmware i downloaded and extracted there was only 1 file, an md5 file.

So it seems I've done everything right and will be stuck with the weird settings. Do you know if it will cause any problems/software issues? I don't mind too much if the only negative is a few extra useless settings as I'm not exactly on the settings menu most of the time.

What exactly did you flash that caused the issue?
If you factory reset the issue will probably go away.

That's what It was like when i first received it, it was running demo software but was flashed with Android 7 firmware before i received it. I flashed a newer firmware i downloaded off of Sammobile and nothing changed (other than running on newer software obviously). Factory reset didn't change anything either.

It seems at some point somebody flashed the combination firmware which has been known to cause this.
However flashing the correct firmware after a factory reset should sort it, odd?
Have you tried Nand Erase before flashing the firmware?

Today I bought an ATT galaxy s6 edge for about $350, I was told it wouldn't boot past the powered by Android screen. I thought it would be an easy flash in odin. So I flaBootscreem ock 0I2 firmware and it passed successfully. But it still won't pass the Samsung logo. I've tried a few other methods people have posted. Like wipe data and cache but it still won't work. Now I feel bad that I spent the money on a paperweight. Anyone have any ideas?
Did you try to flash the latest firmware, with all 4 files via odin?

I tried OI2 which is what is on it. And I did flash all 4 files. I'll try the newest one. But I believe the efs file is corrupted
Ok, can you get to the recovery in the phone? Tell me if you see anywhere in the bottom "dm verify verification failed".

Yes it does say that at the bottom. I'm in the process of trying to sell it as I don't have the time right now to deal with it. But if its something simple I can download to fix I would. As I also don't have home Internet all download are through my carrier
Oh then its really easy, reflash latest software via odin with the 4 files. In options tab make sure you select the clean efs folder and there you go my friend

Yes, I took it into a store and they flashed it for me. The only problem is the efs folder is corrupt and I don't have an imei number and have to manually connect to my carrier, also there's a battery drain
Ok so, I kinda effed up. Originally my Play Store among other google services had been acting up and were unusable so I was troubleshooting for a fix. I tried everything except a factory reset, so of course I do that , but as I was reseting I also lost my root. It had been awhile since I rooted my phone so I followed the steps of the video I was watching. (How to Root Galaxy Note 5 on Android 6.0/6.0.1 Marshmallow!) He happens to reformat his phone in the video so I did as well, brainfarting on the fact that I would lose my backups. I start tinkering with stuff because after factory reset in the ROM I still have no access to any of the Google services. I deleted System and was gonna re-flash/use my backups (that I thought I had) to fix everything. Well, I tried downloading the stock firmware for my model but it's not flashable via Odin as it's in ZIP form, and when I attempt unzipping I get an error, tried firmware from multiple mirrors. So I tried running a custom ROM since there is a lot more support on that now. I tried the Nemesis_V3_N7-port first, it flashed succesfully, tried booting for a solid 30 minutes or so before I shut it down and tried a different rom. I think it was then or after I flashed the latest MOAR that I started bootlooping into TWRP.
Please help!! I can normally figure this stuff out once I break it, but I've been fixing this phone for the past 12 hours and have yet to find a solution.
So you wiped your phone and have no rom? so you can either bootloop, go into twrp or go into dl mode? Right?

you need to download the .tar file for your n920p. Then in odin click on ap and then click the .tar file. run and you should go back to stock. Then you can root again! Here yah go: https://devs-lab.com/how-to-unbrick-samsung-galaxy-note-5.html
In my experience you cant do anything in twrp to save you unless you made a nandroid back up or have an extra rom. Ive done this before and I had to odin the stock firmware

I tried downloading the firmware quite a few times, it doesn't let me extract it from it's zip. I just tried 7 Zip, 9Zip, and the windows built in unzipper. Would you try downloading and extracting to tell me if you have the same issue? It comes up with an error at about 17% saying it's missing a crucial file..

All you really need to do is re flash your twrp so it will re root the phone again! After you flash twrp you can easily use adb to push the files back to your phone. This is all I did to a phone I repaired.. You can even use fastboot flash Your920PFirmware.tar..

I FIXED IT. It was my computer, I don't know what it was and I don't care lol. But I tried the correct firmware through Odin on my other Windows PC and it worked flawlessly. If anybody runs into any issues unzipping or flashing through Odin, last resort just clean install on the pc or find another one.
I Downloaded The Fw From Sammobile, Yes Its Was Very Slow, Thats Why I Re-upped It Untouched To Androidfilehost, Much Faster To Dl For Others.
Only For Snapdragon Variants, Its The Universal Firmware, Its Free Of Carrier Bloat But Has Some Samsung Useless Apps.
Not For Exynos Variants Like The Sm-g935f, Etc.
MORE ABOUT UNIVERSAL FW READ THIS
The Zip Has The Att Extension But All Universal Snapdragon Fw Are The Same Afaik, It Does Not Install Anything Specific For Att,
Im On Telus/koodo Using The Sm-g935a Without Issues, Shows Lte Signal When On Data Mode.
Idk If Auto Updates Work, Although Update Options Are Available From The System Menu
Instructions:
Dl Zip, Extract Zip, Put Phone In Dl/odin Mode. Run Odin As Admin, And Load Each Cp, Ap, Bl And Csc(Dont Use The Home Csc As I Read Its Fracks Things Up), Just Use "Csc_oym" File In Odin
Fyi. I Used Princes Odin But Failed, Used Untouched Odin And It Flashed Successfully. Was On Nougat 7.0 Sim Unlocked SM-G935A At&t Branded Stock Fw. I Included Both For Your Pleasure.
Afaik It Will Wipe Your Phone, Do A Backup As Needed

Hi Vincom, yes i have already read the article. the main reason im flashing the rom is because of the hidden DATA icon in the toggle screen. and also i want my phone to have the OREO update as well. this is my first samsung phone. i have experience in flashing ROMs in my xiaomi redmi 1s phone. so im a bit skeptical if i can do this on my own. this odin process is very new to me. so what is the worst thing that can happen it i brick my phone? can i do a hard reset and will it default to the stock AT&T ROM if ever?

yes and no, csc controls what bloatware and which settings are setup by default dependant on carrier and country, hence why this is a universal fw and not dependant on original csc files.
if u truly have the att s7edge g935a, which is what i had, then yes.

Hey guys. Having some issues after I flashed a firmware. Phone is falsely detecting root, and some apps don't work anymore. Apps affected include
Samsung Pass
S Health
Secure Folder
Phone has never been rooted. I've done a factory data reset twice, still getting the same errors. Went into download mode to check if Knox has been tripped. Please see attached picture.
When I try to switch on Mobile Hotspot, I get the following message: "All apps associated with this action have been turned off, blocked, or are not installed". Only app I disabled is Facebook.
Don't know if these issues are related
I used the patched Odin to flash the new firmware. Phone is originally an unlocked AT&T model (N960U). I flashed an N960U1 firmware (https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/g...SM-N960U1/XAA/download/N960U1UES1CSF1/278280/). Haven't noticed any other issue. Phone is fully functional, and there are no network issues (my biggest fear)

Flash all the files, but also tick for "Nand erase" and repartition (U also need to use the pit-file, that you can extract from the CSC-file with 7-zip). Also when selecting CSC-file in Odin, don't use "Home_CSC."
Flash it, the phone will reboot (and a blue screen may appear, let the phone finish and again reboot.)
Maybe you should use this ROM instead? https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-note9/firmware/SM-N960U/CHA/download/N960USQS1CSF3/277681/

Yeah, OFC. Forgot to mention that xD
Before I start, I apologize and I know this shouldn't be in the Q&A Thread but I am a new user and unable to post it in the other thread
So I recently purchased a Galaxy S10 from Best Buy and I noticed I didn't have Advanced Call features such as Wifi-Calling and Video Calling. When I had asked about this, it turns out that I had purchased the unlocked S10 and had them set it up with my provider as Verizon.
I have been reading some posts by iBowToAndroid and I am wondering if I would be able to flash my phone into being locked with Verizon and get the Advanced Calling features without losing anything on my phone currently.
I already have the G973U firmware files from iBowToAndroid's post as well as the Verizon USERDATA file. I also tried setting up Samsung USB Drivers but the install failed. I'm not sure if this is necessary as I am still very new to this whole thing.
If this is possible, what version of Odin should I be downloading?
Is there anything else that I would need?
I'm using v3.13.3 and it's working perfectly fine.

I had this happen as well...then got a firmware image (from sammobile) with a later date than the firmware that was on my phone already. Flashing that newer firmware image was successful the first time through. Although in my case I was flashing back from T-Mobile firmware to unlocked firmware, same idea. I think that it might have been related to needing a newer boot version or something, but until I got the later version of unlocked firmware, the flash would fail reliably at abl.elf, before it got rolling.
And the version of Odin that worked for me was the patched Odin3_v3.13.1_3B. Didn't try the unpatched version.
