I tried the camera apk on P20 Pro (android 8) but it's not working... not even installing on my device. If somebody is interested in trying to modify it I can send it.

I've tried to install this apk on my p20 pro (android 9 beta) - the same error. But this is expected result. Both camera applications, native and from Mate 20 Pro have the same namespace and !!! version.
After cloning the app it was installed successfully but again FC. Some libraries are missed on P20 Pro.

I was hoping to get a port from Mate 20 camera just for the front Facing camera HDR Mode
Couldn't we just import the librairies? They could easily be extracted from a mate 20 Pro...
this app not installing in my device why? my device not root
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1slMIsE6UmzAwmnHxpiBgrF0uowSDse4s/view (I took it from Mate 20 Pro XDA forum)
Maybe someone can make this work 100%. It's from Mate 20 Pro,I wanted to install it,it works, but some features disappeared from "More" menu...so I uninstalled it. I believe that the camera app is the same on P20 Pro and Mate 20 Pro,only the libs are different, and maybe there is something else that unlocks features or locks them, when it detects the phone model.

I installed it without problems. Everything works correctly but I do not see any difference.
My compilation is 9.0.0.236
I tried to install this on the OneNote 7 pro, and it's the first one that actually opens. But it crashes before I get to take a photo. Is there any way to fix this? I would love to test this on here as I come from the p20 and loved the camera app
Hi, does anyone have a link to this Huawei camera apk? The link above doesnt work. I have an S10 plus and really miss the camera from my old P20 pro, really keen to try this if possible, cheers
Wouldn't the hardware be different thus causing issues?
Or is there some software trickery that could make things work?
Here is the magisk module to install P30 camera on our p20 for thoose who have a rooted device. Works fine on pie 9.1.0.328 and enable the AR mode.
The credit goes to the owner.

The one on the play store is working for me

I think ArStickers is only for pixel at the moment unless someone can port it
I managed to get it running but the characters wouldn't display, apparently it's only working on Oreo.

Yes. 8.1 only. So maybe we will get it next Christmas...
With the latest ARcore for Nougat I was able to get ARstickers to somewhat work, I have to delete ARstickers Data Everytime I try to open AR Gcam but that's not that bad of a issue. Can't see the AR previews as well. I'm using unrooted completely stock Tmo Note 8 .
Last one is the actual picture
How to install and use ARcore stickers? I could not find them. Thanks.

Works for me on Galaxy Note 8 Oreo(8.0)
I first installed AR Core V2, then Google Camera and an Apk with AR Ornaments (Stikers)
When I opened Google Camera, the menu contains Last Jedi Stickers and three more sticker groups.
Bug: After Installing Google Camera, I couldn't access the share button ( <) on gallery. It force closes. Neither can i set pictures as wallpaper or Profile Pictures. So I have done a reset now everything works fine. I will try intsalling Google Camera once again later today.
Hope this helps

hi, I used to always have a call confirm app installed. I have done too many call i didn't wanna do without it. but I can't find any that work for my new Huawei P20 PRO.
I guess it's because of the android version? none worked on android 8 and now android 9. I've tried many from the store, and I've made searches, i just can't find any app that works.
does anyone know of a modded app that works ?
thanks
I ended up installing 2 apps. True Phone, and Easy Call Confirm. 2 apps together work for what i wanted.

mod the xml manifest file in the apk
<manifest android:installLocation="preferExternal" android:theme="@android:style/Theme.NoTitleBar" package="PACKAGENAME.apk" platformBuildVersionCode="26" platformBuildVersionName="8.0.0">
<supports-screens android:anyDensity="true" android:largeScreens="true" android:normalScreens="true" android:smallScreens="true" android:xlargeScreens="true"/>
Swapp version code where necessary code 26 or 27 and version to 8.0.0 or 8.#.# ect
I just received my Mate 20 Pro and ran into the same issue. The call confirm app does only react once but even then it does open the main screen of the app. So instead of allowing or blocking a call, it either does nothing at all, or it opens the app screen itself.
So, when removing bloatware, I also removed the Huawei stock clock app, as I'm using google clock app instead.
Now automatic time update from network isn't working anymore, so I guess I need the Huawei clock again. Can someone upload the apk for me please? I can't find it with google yet...
I think is this.

I found this on another thread I think, unfortunately can't install. Maybe facory reset is my last option now...
I found this: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/4032960/how-do-i-get-an-apk-file-from-an-android-device
Look at the note that begins with "None of these suggestions".
Using this description I downloaded HwDeskClock.apk, but I didn't try to install it.
Same thing happened on my P30 (non pro). I used adb to remove Huawei DeskClock and then, the time stopped being updated. What on earth were they thinking? I love the performance of this phone and it can make great pictures but their EMUI interface is crap. At least, I thought I'd be able to disable most of their crappy apps but disabling them break important part of the OS...
Will reset my phone bring back deleted Huawei apps?
Edit: Yeah, this did the job...

Has anyone tested this Google Camera port? What is the quality and stability like compared to the stock camera?
Thank you very much for this port it's working great but how to switch to between different kens......
Does night sight mode run??
https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/p/f/2020/08/q-config-for-redmi-9-trcam.xml
These settings are better, night mode works pretty good with it. Also, there are buttons to switch cameras
Use trCamera 7.1 with these settings, newer version crashes

AutoAnswer: I had to install Google Photos to fix that.
Hello all, upon following a video on Youtube submitted by a John Wang, his explanation wasn't 100 percent clear but good enough for me to follow it to get Google play on my Mate 40 RS which should work the same for the Mate 40 Pro/ Pro +/ Mate 40 as they are all based on the same EMUI OS. There are some caveats as in still issues with notifications seeming to be delayed unless the app is open etc, Android Auto does work but can be kind of buggy and of course no Google Pay. If you guys are interested in me making a tutorial for you with the files you'll need please let me know and I'd be more than happy to create one!
I should note too, that I have not had the google play protect error at all, and I am on day 2 of using Google Play on it. So far so good, I can use Youtube/Music/Gmail just fine
Of course. Please make one please It would help a lot. I'm planning to buy a chinese M40 RS also.
But please make clear that this only works for chinese FW version!
A tutorial for this would be great! I tried to follow John Wang's tutorial but when I get to the part where you restore the backup app, it says I already have a newer version of the app installed. I've uninstalled the only version of the app I can find and I'm still getting the error message. Any ideas?
It may help to mention I'm based in the UK.
Cheers!

I was able to use the backup app that came with my phone and it seemed to restore just fine. Odd that what I read from others it only works for Chinese version like I got. Although I would like someone with international to try it.
Hello anyone tries any of this on international version of mate 40?

The notifications of app in dual space work like in standard installation? I mean: gmail with push notifications working in dual space, if i have the phone in standby, when new mail will arrive, i will have a standard push notification from gmail? This is an important question.

Hi all,
This question is asking for global variant of Mate 40 Pro
Are there any method to install
1) Google Services Framework
2) Google Play Services
Then in Chrome browser address bar, key in play.google.com/store to download & install app ?
No need LZPlay
Any way to do it ?
