Hi,
I've a new Huawei Mate 20 Lite since one week now, and I'm disappointed about this phone. I think about sending it back to the vendor and get back my money.
I would like to know if you have same issues:
- The call volume is not very strong even if it's at the maximum.
I move the phone a lot to hear my intercolutor better. I've the same volume with different contacts, themself with différent recent phones.
So I did some tests and compared with another smartphone (Huawei Mate 10 Pro, the HP is bigger !!).
If you call somebody and hear the sound away of your ear, you hear nothing. The same test with a Huawei Mate 10 Pro, you can follow the call without having it against the ear. The both were at the maximum.
I tried to install a booster volume application, nothing better.
- The memory slot: my 128 Sandisk memory card is monted, and becomes always unmonted alone.
So I check it was well installed in the slot, I restarted the phone. Same issue.
The phone see the card, and doesn't see it later. My card is recent, and works very well in old phone, in computer and so on.
- Bluetooth connexion: it never works in one time. I start the BT on the phone, and so I stard the BT on my headphones (already listed and paired previously), the phone is connecting to the device, and connecting, and connecting...I wait... still connecting. So I have to stop BT and try again to obtain the pairing.
- Audio headsets: the sound is zero, not enough volume here...
That's a pity for basic functions.....
I'm in a hurry to know if you have the same problems.
Thank you for advices

Hello, i´ve got it too and i haven´t that issues. I think that your phone maybe is bad from factory. Try to change it.
I'm using this phone, and I don't have any problems on my phone. I think your phone might have a problem with the factory. How about you go to the service?
I also own one of a mate 20 lite and i don't have any problem with it so far.
No issue for me too
I knew about the Sd card problem in Italy, some phone are affected by sd card random error. The data on card are unreadable and a restart is necessary for fix the issue, but it seems a software problem. and happens when the SD card is used as main memory.
I have sd card errors couple times. First time i wasn't insert it correctly. After that happened again and formatted it.I didnt make sd card a default storage. Same sd using on only one phone. Is a year and half old sd card.

Not sure where I start.
1. The volume is too low when using headphones (Huawei's official response here: https://uk.community.huawei.com/mat...increase-volume-when-headphones-are-used-1020)
2. Dead pixels on the camera sensor.
3. Official case is an atrocity.
4. The phone comes bundled with non-removable bloatware.
5. The bundled PC software wasn't translated into English in some areas.
I could go on. Overall, it seems Huawei does not have a proper quality control process. I've seen plenty of reports of SD corruption (it's a hardware issue, not software), screen issues, lack of GPU Turbo as promised, etc. This is only my personal phone so doesn't get much use as my company pays for an iPhone and the calls/data, but it's put me off ever using Huawei again.

I don't have this problem. It seems that this has something to do with earphones. You can try another pair of earphones.

I only use wired headphones and have tried three different pairs, one of which I've used for the last six years. The headphones are not the problem.

Just turn up the volume of your mobile phone.
The jack output is known not to be very loud, you have to be aware of that before buying the mate 20 lite, so that's really more a design problem.
Por mi parte no he tenido ningún problema con el equipo

Has this issue been fixed yet?
I'm using the P30 Lite, and my SD card is being "unmounted unexpectedly", and I'm afraid it might become corrupted this way too.

Battery settings are part of the app phone manager.
You mean this option?

Try to reach it through phone manager. Look at the permissions, maybe you have stopped something?
I will try to connect through bluetooth in my car today and will report later.
Edit: Works ok with my Pioneer xxxxx in my car, no problems during calls.
no issue here.
In Bluetooth settings, when paired to the car cclick on the "!" on the right hand side next to your paired device. Is "Phone Audio" selected? Select if not...you may have to unpair and re pair the phone to the car first.
Battery settings, as mentioned above should be in advanced settings, if it's not there then chances are you've changed something, but a factory reset should get everything back to normal. It's a pain I know but ultimately it should work!
battery settings will be missing if the phone manager app is disabled..
^Yes, but it can be disabled only if you have root, otherwise it's impossible, because it's a system app.
Ok...its seems there are some issue on my phone related to " i dont know"... 1. No phone manager app ( at least it is not in app section under settings) 2. Bluetooth is paired but there is no the phone audio option...
now ill try a factory reset...

Try pairing both ways....delete current pairing (On both the phone & car) and then initiate the paring from the car to the phone, see result, and then delete pairing again and try initiating from phone to car if still no joy. (this worked for a weird glitch on mine where the phone would constantly ask for permission to share my contacts with the car!)
Other than that, sorry haven't a clue...maybe have a word with the car manufacturer?

P9 Lte issues with Car
Seems a common problem of a kind. I have no issues with the Bluetooth connection but I cant ask the car entertainment system to call a phone number it Just comes up and says there is no internet access. Huawei just says reinstall the app.... the app that is used for the voice activation of commands is "Google now" - cant uninstall that. Any Ideas ????
Thanks Meggsy
Anyone had any joy in regards to the car audio issue yet please.
Bought the p9 lite yesterday and have same issue, pairs ok and stereo knows a call is taking place as radio turns off and can see people have answered call as timer appears on stereo display but they cant hear me and I cant hear them.
Have tried all the tips I've found online but still no joy.
Have even tried straight from a factory reset with no accounts set up and still same.
Shame as like the phone and was hoping to get the real p9 on upgrade in couple of months but I really need to have the hands free working properly

Hello, I got my P20 Pro 2 days ago. So, here's my problem. I got a pair of HyperX Cloud II and I want to use them with the phone. When I plug them with the included dongle, the headset icon shows for a second then disappears from the notifications bar. I should mention the fact that I can use the included earphones and some other casual earphones. The interesting fact is that I can use my Cloud II headset without any problem(other than the fact that the volume is quite low) on my mate's Xiaomi Mi 6 with the same dongle. What do you think, is there anything I can do about it, or should I go wireless once and for all?
go wireless if you have the budget, for me i still prefer wired due to i'm too lazy to charge it, i've used the dongle with my MI in-ear pro, and so far it works as intended
I found the headset wasn't always detected and I had to add a setting in developer settings
I have 'Disable USB Audio Routing' set to off and 'Always prompt when connecting to USB' set to off.

Turns out you can use this headset with the phone, but only if you plug in the microphone, and that's a huge problem for me, as I used to casually wear them wherever I'd go. Since I bought the phone, I have switched to some in-ear headphones and I learned to live with this.
Will it be the same with all adapters?

Solution
Hello everybody
I have the same problem with my hyperX cloud 2. To make it works you only have to plug the microphone in headset and after that plug it in the phone.
If you plug out the mic, headset will not be recognized again.
Hope it will be helpful for you. Cya

I have tried with adapters from: Mi 6, Pixel 2, U11. It has to do with the OS, as a matter of fact, they worked just fine without the mic plugged in for the other phones.

But without the mic, with the other (not stock huawei) adapters plugged in to the p20 pro, it still didn't work?
Just making sure it's not the adapter.

Nope, the P20 Pro wouldn't detect the headset.
P20 Pro does not detect my headset or dongle
I have this problem and until now I cant find a solution. Phone is charging with any charger though and it just happened all of a sudden. I already tried doing a hard reset but no good. I am using the Europe version. Single Sim GPU Turbo updated.
Can confirm plugging the mic into the headset solves the issue.
Same headset here. If you don't want to use them whit the mic in, use Lesser Audioswitch app. You can choose the audio output source with the app.
Work for me.
Also, don't forget to manually switch back to speaker after you unplug your headset.
Has anybody discovered a fix for this yet where you don't have to plug in the mic? I just got a P20 pro and it is disappointing that I am unable to use my headset with it.
HUawei P20 Pro not able to detect headphones?
I've been using Apple headphones connected to the Huawei USB-C adapter on my Huawei P20 Pro....it was working fine for at least 5 months.
But last week when I plug in my headphones the icon shows up for a second, then disconnects in a few seconds. Now it's a consistent problem.
Has this happened to any of you? I don't know if it's the adapter or my phone...
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

it's an annoyance really. I have a Pioneer NEX-4100 and it has pretty nice bluetooth functionality as well as Android Auto, and i use both. I used to not have this problem so i think it's the phone. I have a phone (now) running android 7, and if i connect to Android auto all is fine, but the next time i try to connect to bluetooth, the phone requires repairing and asks me to enter the pin. Any ideas? LG-K20.
I started having the same problem with my phone, which was a Huawei P20 pro. Then I changed it to a P30 pro, but same thing happened.
This is btw with a Ford focus 2019, with standard radio.
After trying different things I found that if I let the car and phone connect via Bluetooth before the phone via cable for AA, then it stopped causing that problem
I have the same problem too, thanks for this tip.

I think it happens since the phone is not yet connected.
If you connect an unpaired phone, AA will start pairing process, which then causes the current pairing to fail for some reason
There s a module in Magisk that solve this problem
It's for Samsung phone

1) Make sure you turn on the auto start option in app info/settings for all the apps that are used in Android Auto
Examples: Whatsapp, Messenger, Google Maps, Spotify, Poweramp, Waze etc.,
2) Try different cable(most !important). My cars android auto was working fine with Poco F2 pro but after i shifted to mi 11 ultra it worked the first day and then stopped. I though it was a ROM issue and before moving to global ROM i tried all the cables in my house. None of them worked except one - the cable that comes with Xiaomi 67w charger with orange accent. If you didnt buy the charger you can go on amazon and search for "Android Auto cable" or you can buy a USB 3.1 Gen 2 Cable anywhere. Make sure it supports 3A current (minimum) and i recommend getting the 6A cable which will also help with fast charging. Hardly costs you 20$ for a good braided cable.
Here is a cable most of the people on forums bought (no-affiliate link):
Amazon.com
3) if none of the above steps worked, Uninstall current android auto from apps and rollback to a previous version. you can easily find the apk file online.
4) Last but not least change the car
EDIT:
Found that removing your device from bluetooth connected devices list from cars infotainment and reconnecting will also re-initiate AA connection.
I am struggling to get Android Auto work with my VW Tiguan. Both wired and wireless just fail to connect. Will test other cables but is there any way to get the wireless working?

I dont know which ROM you are on. Android auto wont work on Chinese ROM. You have to unlock the bootloader and install xiaomi.eu rom. If you do have xiaomi.eu rom try this:
Go into settings> Connection and sharing > scroll down to end and find Android Auto> see if the option "Wireless Android Auto" is turned on.
On Chinese ROM there's no way to get this working. On global ROM it's flawless. Don't know about the EU one.
I got it to work by selecting "transfer File" on the selection prompt in the phone. Ever since it works flawless.
anyone know if this works with bmw yet?

Xiaomi.eu 12.5.4 version.
I'm on Xiaomi.eu 12.5.4 and AA works on my Audi but not on my 2021 Lexus. I've tried multiple USB cables, my OnePlus 6 works fine with every cable I used.
Most features work well on my Mi11U running EU 12.5. The only issue I'm having is that I can't reply to anything. I've allowed every permission I can think of, but still when I say something (like send text, or call mom), it will ask me to say the message, or confirm the phone number, and when I try to reply, it just doesn't hear me. It waits a few seconds and then asks me to say it again, and again, and again.
Super frustrating. Anybody else finding this?
I'm on stock head unit - wireless, but I've tried wired connection as well.

When you are using AA, it uses mic from car somewhere on steering wheel/infotainment itself. Maybe that mic is not working.

I don't think so, I can speak to it to begin with. I'll either press the steering wheel button/the microphone icon on my AA interface/or say OK Google (all of which work) and then be able to ask anything, for example -
Me: "text John Smith"
Google: "text John Smith. Sure, what's the message?"
Me: "blah blah blah" - at this point, my words are not recognized or typed out on the screen, and google doesn't hear anything from me.
Google: "What's the message?"
I feel like it's a permission issue with the Assistant and not the messaging app, since it also happens in other apps (phone/contacts).
I remember my Mi10 pro won't work with my car when i have dual apps activated.
Can confirm that the Aukery cable solved the issue.

I have this exact same issue with MI10 Lite, MIUI 12.5.1 on Citroen C3 Aircross.
Not stock cable, i'll try that soon.

Yep, tried turning off the wireless option, then connecting with original cable, same result. I'm wondering if there are some kind of google assistant permissions that I'm missing?
I also cannot wake the phone with "OK Google", the screen has to be on, so maybe that has something to do with it. Not sure, very annoying though. Unfortunately, might be a deal breaker for me.

I have an exynos S21 Ultra.
It works great with all Bluetooth devices
lately i have been facing an issue when it connect it to my Toyota Car unit,
I can make the first call, then it doesn't hangup on the unit.
the phone call on the phone itself hangups but on the unit it doesn't and shows that call as still active. any incoming call afterwards doesn't work. i can't reply or reject.
So i need to disconnect and reconnect the Bluetooth for it to work again.

It's not only samsung is google pixel too.
I have tried all the possible solutions and I could not find anything to solve the problem.
I don't know if there is anyway to get the old bluetooth settings , files , configurations and put them in the Android 12 .
It's so frustrating that I got a vehicle 50k and I can use my phone in it

If LTE, then i think it is a Toyota issue, not all phone manufacturers have defective devices
Someone contacted Toyota and they said that they will investigate to the issue but we all need to open a ticket in toyota to expedite the fix.
