Thanks for your response. this is very strange probelm, two month before did not appear this problem, but in these current days.
Maybe it is the problem of the system version of Xiaomi note pro, if I can solve this, I will let you know.
Interesting. I just got my Note Pro so didn't get to use the car Bluetooth receiver a lot yet but so far it's been working fine, playing several times for more than an hour without disruption. Maybe it's one of those extensive power-saving settings that are responsible? Or the "Clean Master" that is set to kick in after 30 mins since the screen was turned off by default? I was using Google Maps for navigation while also playing music in the car, so the screen was on all the time, perhaps that would explain why it didn't happen to me?
What's your ROM version, mine works flawless.
Earlier today I was using the car Bluetooth receiver with the phone in my pocket on battery power - no problems whatsoever (5.12.31 Developer ROM). I'd try with another phone first, maybe it's some sort of interference or a problem with the receiver after all?
Is that an aftermarket Bluetooth receiver plugged into the lighter socket? They're not famous for their reliability, and with time it the socket parts themselves can become loose causing intermittent power failures. Or does it always stop working after the same amount of time passes? Maybe you have some battery-saving app or settings that switches it off then.
Ive just bought a brand new Mate 10 which came with EMUI 8.0.0 (Android Oreo 8.0). Everything is great except that when I plug the phone into my car Android Auto starts on the phone (Black AA Screen) and the HU starts to switch to AA but all I get is a black screen. Whats even more interesting is that AA seems to be alive behind it all as if I touch the screen, things happen, eg if I press the hardware phone button and then touch the screen, it will call someone. If I hold the hardware phone button down I can issue voice commands.
Any idea's how I can get my HU screen to work?
I am using a Xiaomi A1 running Android8.0 and also have an Opel Astra K - with no AA-problems!
Try to check your cable, or replace your cable to the original one ...

Yep, using the supplied cable. Tried 2 others as well. Same behaviour.

Poxy lame response from. Huawei:
"Thank you very much for contacting Huawei and we are truly sorry for the inconvenience caused.
With regards to your inquiry, we would like to inform you that Huawei is currently working with Google to fix this problem. Please look out for new updates for your phone system and Android Auto, and install the updates when possible. It is recommended that you wait for new updates in which the problem is fixed."
So 12 months after the issue was reported with Android 6 devices, it's still happening with Android 8. So #[email protected]&ing lame.

It's really incredible that this issue has not been fixed yet. I have issues too with my Huawei Mate 10 Pro and Android Auto. It's supposed to be a "flagship" device and it doesn't work with Android Auto. Wtf?
I was thinking about to get a Huawei mate 10 pro.
Googled android Auto and USB-C.
No thanks Looks I like I will look for an old USB phone.

DOnt be put off by USB-C. Its purely a Huawei issue. Point in case, my new Nokia 8 works great.
I dont think is the phone problem in your case it might be the AA car board compatibility! I have Mate 10 pro and honda civic 2018 and AA works with no issue.! I am a happy Huawei AA user: v well connectivity BT phone, media and charging in the same time of usingAA.

Could be. But it's clearly capable of running with Android 7(Oppo) and 8 and 8.1 phones (Nokia) so whose the best candidate?
i dont have an answer but to say i was really sceptical when i purchase my car not long ago reading all was post by huawei AA compatibility..... it has nothing to do with Huawei OS system.... i am the one using both

So maybe it's just that EMUI has a fix to work with the hardware you have. So far, Ive seen way to many people say their Huawei DOESNT work. Way that don't than do.

Ahh yep...well aware of that. But as I said, everyone else seems to be able to deal with what is there. If all you want to be is a fanboi and tout that you one setup works, that's great. This thread is here to warn people of the ONGOING issue Huawei have with their 2nd rate bloatware OS.
I've got also a Opel Astra K and have several issues with the Mate 10 Pro, connected with the OEM cable..
Despite a factory reset (I originally cloned data from my Honor 7 with Phone Clone app), i have sometimes soft resets when I connect the phone to my car, with a message "No compatible application.. ".
Some other times, I've got a black screen, the only way to play music is to select USB as source on IntelliLink (Opel infotainment).
Phone doesen't work correctly : no notification on car display when receiving or making a call
Waze not working at all.
Never had this issues with my Honor 7. Outside this I'm satisfied with my phone, but I would like to have Android Auto running well....

I have also the Opel astra k. Despite waze not working and the phone not showing up while calling. I have no issue.
But I have a new phone and the big screen of intellilink (r900 I think?)
Never drove long though. Today I will drive for 2 or three hours. Let's that there is no crash!
The bugs are annoying. But I don't care.

I have the "basic" Intellilink (7 inch display). Maintenance of my Astra is programmed for next Thursday, I'll ask my dealer if there is any update of Opel software
Same exact problem with Opel Astra K and Huawei Mate 10 Pro, but problem got worse when I went to update the software to the Opel service.
Had R 4.0 IntelliLink version 1.12.5.2 for 1,5 year and after updating it about 2 weeks ago, it's version is IP34.5.1 (1.34.5.6). Also HW version is E2.
Before the update I had the random black screen on android auto, about 1 out of 4 times but it was working without issues 3 out of 4 times. After the update..... I ALWAYS get black screen So, the problem got worst for some reason.
So, I completely factory reset both the phone and R 4.0 IntelliLink... unfortunately same issue with black screen. I also tried both original cable and an SBS type C cable that used to work before the update... nothing again..
I also have a Lenovo Phab that works without any issue on Android Auto! Also iPhone with CarPlay works very nice and always as well!
Tried everything I found on the web regarding dev mode etc but nothing helped. The screen remains black, understands the touch and in order for the screen to show R 4.0 IntelliLink default icons, I remove the key, open the door, lock the car and after 2 minutes I unlock the car, put the key on the ignition and everything is back to normal.
Really don't know why exactly the problem got worse, although I read around the web that in order for Android Auto to work on R 4.0 IntelliLink EVERY TIME, you simply have to update the software on the OPEL service.

Hi, is there a chance to use two phones at the same time? Every day I use the iPhone, but I would like to be able to use Google Maps on the Discovery Pro screen in a VW Passat. Is it possible to connect an Android phone with Android Auto, which will display Google maps to me, at the same time be connected via bluetooth from the iPhone to be able to call from it? I am currently using MirrorLink, but this service works very poorly and slowly. Apple CarPlay is not an option, their maps are miserable. Thanks for help.
Ok, no one wrote back, but I found a solution.
I have Xperia Z5 Compact, on which I made root.
I have permanently turned off the Bluetooth sharing service. After installing Android Auto, I went through all the configuration steps. The service started working on the car screen without disconnecting the connected iPhone X via bluetooth.
The sound and picture are sent via a usb cable. When someone calls the music pauses, and when the conversation ends it plays again. It is a perfect combination if CarPlay is not enough, and we don't want to stop using the iPhone.
Thx for the interesting post and especially to come back with a solution. A real strange thing that people actually do follow ups.
I am also interested in this. Having multiple phones I would leave 1 in the car just for Android Auto and the other one just as a phone. If Android wireless was active the use for me would be a bit less needy.
What some people forget is that your phone barely charges if you use Android Auto and that would make it better for me to really charge my other phone while driving. During Android Auto and connected to the USB of the car the phone is in data mode and will probably only output like 400 to 500mA . This is barely enough to keep the charge.
The S7 that I have goes to about 1.9 Amp(so 1900mA) when charging on a non QC charger so after lets say an hours drive it gets more than enough juice to keep you going.

I installed the Root Essentials app from Google Play and found the "Bluetooth Sharing" service in the Memory / Application Manager tab and turned it off. From the normal application settings, this can not be done. Thanks to this, the sound and image from Android Auto is transmitted via USB, and my iPhone is connected via bluetooth for calls.

The steps I have described have helped in the operation of AA, so that the car does not disconnect my Bluetooth-connected iPhone. When I used MirrorLink, my iphone was not disconnected and I could use both phones without any modifications.
In my case, I turned off bluetooth first and then I installed and configured Android Auto with my car. As a result, the iPhone was not disconnected which made me happy. I would also like to add that the procedure was performed on the Discover Pro radio in the Passat B8 with the App-Connect service.

I did try almost every configurations ... I erased previous telephone settings in head unit to start with a clean install. BT has been disabled on tablet (the one dedicated to AA). As soon as the tablet is connected through USB, the phone is deconnected from head unit, and the reason given is that BT is already engaged by another unit (the tablet 0-o). I did a hard reset of the tablet. No joy either... I don't know what to do next. I should stress the fact that AA is installed from APK, as the tablet is not eligible for having AA.

In Volkswagen cars, Android Auto connects via USB, however the phone connection is connected via bluetooth. Maybe your car is configured differently with AA. I also downloaded AA from the apk file.
Can your car simultaneously handle two phones connected by bluetooth? It is possible in the Passat. Maybe there is a problem here.

That needs to be checked for sure, but I still cannot understand why, with BT completely removed from tablet, Head unit still maintains a kind-of BT link with it, thus disconnecting the phone ... It appears like once AA is running on tablet, all other BT connections are killed.

Hi Pixege,
I have the exact same setup (Sony Xperia Z5 ROOTED + iPhone + VW Discover Pro on new Tiguan) and followed your instructions here but no luck.
Here's what I've done.
1. Made sure there is no pre-existing bluetooth pairing between Xperia and Discover Pro) - I reset the Discover Pro just to be sure
2. Paired iPhone with Discover Pro (this is the phone I want to keep connected via bluetooth for calls, etc.)
2. Permanently disable bluetooth sharing on Xperia using Root + App
3. Installed Android Auto on Xperia and connected device to Discover Pro - AA now works fine
This still caused the iPhone to be disconnected from bluetooth... when connected via AA, no other connection is allowed.
Did you do anything different from the steps above as it didn't work for me.
Thanks for helping out.

use 2nd phone for Android Auto
I was able to root my LG V35 and turn off all BT using Link2SD. Now my old V35 is plugged into my car's USB in the center console and my new S20+ connects to the car on BT for calls. It took a lot of effort, but thanks to all the tips posted here, I was able to make it happen. Rooting the V35 was the hard part. Getting the boat loader to unlock took a lot and I bricked the phone twice trying. But rooting after that was somewhat easy, though frankly, I'm not sure how I did it exactly. I was able to unlock the boot loader using the instructions here, step 1 and 2. Though somehow, I bricked the phone (for a 2nd time) trying to get through step 3. I was able to get it to go into fastboot mode and I flashed the boot with an img that was labeled twrp and magist 7.5. I wish I could remember where I got that image from, but after that, magist was installed on the phone and a few clicks later, suddenly it was rooted. Then disabling BT with Link2SD only took a minute.
GREAT post - THANK YOU!!
I have a Note 20 Ultra and a 2020 Tiguan SE, and my 2 issues are (were):
1. I hated connecting and disconnecting the phone to cable for every damn time you enter the car.
2. Since I am spending a lot of time in the car, not necessary driving - I wanted more. Especially Video.
Knowing that AA uses BT and automatically pairing every devices it connected, I though to go to iOS, and get a cheap Iphone to run Carplay, while my Note will stay on BT.
The idea of disabling BT from system after root never crossed my mind. So once seeing that post, I ordered from Amazon a Pixel XL, rooted it and removed all the un-necessary crap out of it, disabled all APKs and services using BT - and it works like a charm.
I have my Note in and out from the car with me, working on BT, and the rooted Pixel juts sits in the car connected with the wire.
Thank you!

Hi,
Not anything in particle, where are you stuck?
I just used any of "app disabler" app from Google Play and freeze every service you find for BT.
Other then that, once in car, make sure your phone is up and running the BT connection, before you plug the secondary device into the wired AA connection.
Good Luck.

Rooted with Magisk
I used "link2sd" and "servicedisabler" apps to do it, but their are plenty others out there who will do the same.
The 2 BT services I disabled in the Pixel XL which is connected now to AA by wire are:
com.androind.bluetooth
com.androind.bluetoothmidiservice
And once again, be sure to be paired and connected with your phone ti BT, before connecting the other device to the wired AA.

Which N9 version? exynos/snapdragon?
Which software version?
I'm using exynos with N960FXXS2ARK3 and no problems
If you are rooted, install magisk module called libsecure_storage ,it will fix BT pairing issue.

I don't have this per se, but I have a problem where it will regularly connect a phone/music device (car aux adapter) in only phone mode, and I'll have to disconnect/reconnect twice to get media audio...and even then sometimes it will use the "phone" codec that sounds like CRAP for media. Will have to reboot phone to fix that.
Hi,
I hope to get here some suggestions....
I change from a SONY XPERIA XZ Premium to Huawei P30 Pro. With my SONY device I have never a problem with my Fossil Smartwatch and BT-Headset.
Now, with the Huawei my smartwatch is not able to connect the phone. Only once I got a connection, after I make a factory reset of the smartwatch. After going in flight-mode an reenable the connection, the phone see my smartwatch, but does not connect to it.
Does anyone have an idea what's going wrong?
Is there a serious support-page from Huawei to get a real support?
Thank you
In all honesty I've had three Huawei/Honor phones and they all have had issues with connecting to my Fitbit. It's very intermittent sometimes takes a while to connect. Some days it doesn't at all.

I'm checking and testing some powersave-options - it is very unclear. I think there must be the reason for it. Must make exeptions for wearOS and maybe the problem could be solved.
Never had this "problems".

You have connected only one device. Smartwatch AND headset/caraudio at the same time is/was the problem.
As I said, I've make some changes in the power-setting regarding the WearOS-app.
Using 3 Garmin Smartwaches/Tracker, a car hands free, bluetooth speakers and headphones without any problem so far.
Also did not had any problems using multiple at the same time of these together

Huge problem

Unpair and reconnect
Reset network settings
Clear Bluetooth cache memory and data
Everything!!! Still no solution, I even factory reset the phone and still same problem, I tried 5 different Bluetooth headset also. Please help with any suggestions

did you looked in the pairing options, whether the device is using phone AND media protocoll? Doesn´t seem like that
Yes I have, YouTube works via the Bluetooth, phone calls work, pretty much everything else does except calls via apps like Whatsapp and Facebook messenger, Skype etc
Did you try changing to 5g wlan instead of the 2,4g I never had that problem in 13 years apple. There also it worked perfect at 2,4ghz.
Dont ask me why that does not work for huawei p30pro. Btw. Samsung s9 also does not do a good job at 2,4.so maybe a android10 thing. Bluetooth also works at 2,4ghz...but how can that work for apple??
Had this Bluetooth issue since day 1.
Using Bluetooth to anything works fine for 20ish mins then stops.
Disabled all battery restrictions like we have to do with the apps to keep them open (in both places) I did a general one, still the same issue.
It's stupidly frustrating and so damn annoying.
I've been gutted about this phone since I got it, sadly stuck in a contract for another 12 months
