For some reason if I get a text with phone screen on say using maps while driving the pop up shows for about 2 seconds but the notification doesn't stay on my notifications pull down. I dont remember this doing it before the update.
Mine did that as well. Try going into Settings>Apps and find your text messaging app. Select that and then select "Force Stop" to stop the app. Then select Storage, and finally select "Clear Cache". See if that fixes it. If not you may need to reboot into Recovery (turn off the phone, and then hold power+volume up+bixby button until it reboots into Recovery). Then try wiping the cache and delvik cache.

Maybe you have only set it to show last three notifications ?

Hello, since I've rooted my phone (stock rom 2.2.2), I have an annoying glitch with the "n" icon popping up on every icon/app installed after I rooted my phone, when I disconnect it from USB (after it scans the SD card, and memory and apps in the notification bar)
No matter if I've already launched those apps, it still pops up on their icons (i'm talking about the little "N" in a blue circle)
What could be wrong ? How to correct that ?
Thanks ! :good:
EDIT: only the modded camera app (from there : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1090785a ) and superuser app have the issue, and only in the application menu... they do not show the "N" icon on the home menu. So weird ?!
Is there any way to get rid of that "N" icon popping up only on those 2 apps ?
I have to say I dun really know the cause of recurring N
but I once had same problem of recurring N in specific apps that I had froozen n defrosted by Titanium Backup!
try them after deleting app cache and data. It worked for me!
if that doesn't work, we'll go for more desperate measures!!
"N" pops up whenever you install new apps, once you start that app, it should disappear. Your issue seems to be weird, try clearing cache and re-boot your device.
.... I don't understand what's the N icon :/
N → New

'N' isn't actually icon but a small overlay over real icon. It is kind of notification which shows a installed app hasn't yet been started/run from app drawer!!
You are still on froyo right? Its normal.. try clearing cache, dalvik everything.. or, just ignore it.. hehe.. happened to me once..

Is there any way to just swipe up notifications like sms, whatsapp msg, email etc that show up for a while on the top. Its annoying to wait till the notification goes away by itself and I cant seem to figure out a way to simple swipe up to hide like in iPhone. Only way I could figure out was to disable it. Any other options or something that I am doing wrong ?
Try HeadsOff. No more floating messages
Umm... This is in stock Android. Introduced in 5.1, I think. Maybe earlier...
Or am I misunderstanding something?
it started working again and I can swipe it off. Worked after I reset my phone. Still wonder why they used to get stuck up there for awfully long time.

To dismiss notifications swipe them left or right. If you swipe up you are only clearing them from the screen.

Hi,
This is happening since the update to Android pie when I swipe to the left to reveal my multitasking menu nothing shows up even though I have apps '' running'' in the background.
Any ideas how to fix this?
I would use software buttons for a while and see if it works with key and if does then change it back

I've had this happen a few times and then get back to normal. Will keep an eye out but just seems like a little bug.
Have you tried clearing cache through recovery menu?
it can be triggered after you were using split screen function,
simply use any app which capable of doing "Restart System UI"
am using Quick Reboot app to do so (root needed)
Using the 4XL - I can't seem to add it to my alarm clock.
The option is there under my alarm, I tap on the '+' where it takes me to the routine settings. I click on Save and nothing seems to happen, you tap the back arrow and it's not added?
Tried clearing the cache and restarting the phone

You'd think it being a Google device, this would be the first one it would work on. I just got rid of a Oneplus 7T which, apart from the camera, is proving to be the better device!
4I am getting annoying notification for change settings at too of setting menu. Even if i tried to change setting as it mentions. Screenshot is attached with for clarification.
As i cannot attach screenshot xda app gives error of bad request.
if it's the "settings suggestions " you can get rid of it:
go to settings, apps, show all, dots menu top right show system, search for settings suggestions tap it, storage and cache, clear storage.
after 2-4 days it will show up again you redo the steps whenever you get too annoyed by it
just use sd maid or titanium and magisk to disable the application
