Hello.
Is there a way to do a full backup (absolutely all, including the secure folder) of the phone ?
Something very similar to what is possible on iOS.
I need to have my phone replaced by Samsung, but I want to be able to restore my phone
Back up via SmartSwitch and back up secure folder via Samsung backup, then restore new device from SmartSwitch and restore your secure folder via Samsung backup.

Oh Smart Switch backups totally everything ? Nice.
I will check Samsung backup as well then. Thanks.

Titanium backup ? But not on pc, unless you xfer the upate zip/or Titanium backup zip to your pc for safe keeping. Still have to flash through recovery on the phone.
You could just do a nandroid and titanium backup and save the files to your PC.
yes my phone is rooted. I'm well aware of how to nandroid/titanium.
I was hoping for a solution that would allow me to simply connect my phone via USB and it would autmatically back it up. More of a nandroid than titanium.
I try a lot of new things and end up breaking stuff a lot. It would be nice to be able to do a simple restore and not have to set everything back up.
Note: I'm now using a Vibrant so that might matter.
I've had a Captivate since launch, and had a nandroid backup, but it just got replaced. Is there anything else I should copy to protect against flashing mishaps? I saw some comments in the dev forums about copying nv_bin or EFS to protect the IMEI, but it wasn't clear if that was necessary. Is that done using ADB?

I have never backed up my nv bin. I do not use kies though. If you use kies I would back it up, as to how, there are threads.
Back up your android id
Download, android id changer from market
Open app, click save id
When you flash you want to dl the app again, load id, click change.
All 2.2 roms give you a generic id which could cause market issues.
I can not tell from your post if you understand that you can not restore your nand backup onto the custom rom. DO NOT DO THIS
if you want your apps backed up use titanium backup. Only backup user apps no system info
Hope this helps

Thanks. Yeah, I have Titanium Backup Pro, and have been using it for custom roms. I just made the nandroid backup so I'd have it in case I needed to go back to what I had out of the box; the one time I restored it (to get my old android ID), I flashed back to JF6 using the odin one-click first. I was more worried about the more obscure stuff like nv bin.
I've 20b Singapore version which loaded with quite a few personal data in it. What's the recommended method to back it up so I can return to the exact state as it now?

Exact state?
To back up: root, nandroid backup, unroot.
To restore: root, restore nandroid backup, unroot.
Sorry, but I don't know of a way to do an exact backup/restore unless you have root. I doubt anyone has. I'd be glad to be proven wrong on this one.
Thought so. Just trying my luck.

No, but you can still backup all apps on your phone. (using special app, like Astro, App Backup and restore)
Also you can use the LG suite to backup things like contacts, sms and so on, I am sure there is a way to back it all up, but it's way more complicated, then doing it with Titanium Backup...
Hi there. Recently flashed allianceRom jellybean xxlsc beta1.1.
When i first tried to start S Memo, the app said it'a retiring to make way for S Note. I pressed start now and the app is just uninstalled. I go to S Note and nothing migrated.
Is there any way to restore my s memo stuff from my backup in pc. it was done via kies so i doubt it detects custom rom. Any ideas? From what i know and/or rmb, my files in pc seem to be jpeg. May not be able to edit via and spen apps, right?
But the more impt thing to me is still restoring. Need help with that first.
Thanks in advance to helpful replies. Will press the button when they start coming in xD

EDIT: ****. Didnt backup with Kies; meant i had no backup..time to check my CWM Backup..
EDIT: SOLVED. Had older backup in Kies. PHEW.
Titanium Backup can unpack nand backups, maybe that's how get your S-Memo back. And then pay attention to what you select, S-Memo asks you whether you want to migrate your data to S-Note or not.

Hi all,
is it possible to restore a full backup of apps and settings like iphone?
I do not want to root as I will try and restore using RUU (want to try something)
something like Titanium backup but for non rooted. Does Sync manager restore the phone and settings?
Any other application? I know my nexus 4 had a way to back it up on PC using a command to trigger backup.
Thanks
