Hi all, it's with great delight that I managed to get Lollipop on my Moto G thanks to the amazing XDA forums
So my problem started that I couldn't install the Lollipop OTA update because I had TWRP. I found the stock 4.4.4 image for the Moto G 2014 and followed instructions to flash everything from boot.img to recovery.img. After my phone was now in "stock" I was able to install the OTA update.
Now my question is: could I have just flashed the single stock file "recovery.img" and achieved the same effect? That would remove TWRP wouldn't it? Allowing for the OTA update to just work?
(asking because I don't want to have to go through all this again in the future as I'll have forgotten!)

So this is more of a project between me and a friend, but we are unsure of what to do next. Our experience is minimal, as this is his first android phone (LG L90 D415) and I only installed BlissPop on my G3 because bootloader is unlocked and that made it much easier. In our current state, we are on the 10c version, after having downgraded. We have rooted with Towelroot, installed SuperSu, updated binaries, and installed busybox. However, we are unsure of what to do next. We know we have to unlocked the bootloader and flash the TWRP recovery before installing the ROM and GAPPS, but the steps to accomplish that are not very clear. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and if explanations could be thourough for two noobs, that would be great
T-Mobile G4 H811 10d rooted with TWRP
Should have taken OTA first before "one-click TWRP" & "root", my question now is
how to upgrade to version 10n??? Thanks for the direction and help!!!
Probably too late and I hope you already figured this out, but since you have twrp, just flash the rooted 10n image and you'll be fine. You can find it in the tmobile g4 android development forum
