[MOD] Remove sound during NFC detection

Hi guys,
This is my very first (and simple) mod : removing these annoying sounds during the NFC detection.
I used the method described in this thread to replace the 3 sounds found in the nfc.apk with a silent one : get the stock nfc.pak (in /system/app), open it with winrar, replace the 3 ogg files in res/raw with a silent.ogg file (use the same original names and don't compress the files). Replace the stock nfc.pak with the modified (you need a root explorer and a rw system partition).
No more sound when I approach a tag, only vibration.
The modified nfc.apk in attachment is from the C5503 10.1.1.A.1.310 firmware. Dunno if it works with others.
Use it at your own risk and please report any problem.
Here is the modified apk for firmware 4.2.2 10.3.1.A.0.244.
Very nice work mate, keep it up
Still here

How to fix bluetooth on cm13 (Or any other rom)/ How to fix amazon jem not recognized

Hello guys, I'm here to show you how to fix it without repeatedly turning it on and off. (I provided the stock bluetooth for you guys, that don't have it)
This is only for LTE jem, sorry for any convenience. (For bluetooth.)
1. Download this https://www.dropbox.com/s/29pw4nm27pgl8aj/Bluetooth fix.rar?dl=0
2. Extract it.
3. Replace /System/etc/Bluetooth/bcm2076_20mhz.hcd with BCM2076_26MHZ.HCD
4. Replace /System/vendor/firmware/bcm2076_20mhz.hcd with bcm2076_20mhz.hcd (The one I provided for you)
Then tada! Bluetooth works, you can only connect to compatible devices it seems but bluetooth finally works.
Now onto how to fix amazon jem not being recognized, on your pc/laptop.
I'm going to be honest here, this will be very short lol.
So anyways, go to this link https://windows10skill.com/kindle-fire-not-recognized-on-windows-10/#2 and follow the steps provided. Method 2 helped me, so try that first if you want. (This can work on windows 7 too, I forgot where I found it at but you can try following it still.)
That's all I have, for now. I hope all of you guys get everything fixed! Please let me know if this was helpful for you, I would appreciate it.
This RAR file won't open
Out of curiosity, I tried this with the latest CRdroid 3.8.7 from @transi1 in the other thread (which is useless because the ROM has functional bluetooth out of the box, at least with keyboards and mice). I was able to download and unpack the RAR, and install the files as described (had to remount /system for read-write in an adb shell in order to write in those directories). However, after replacement, the bluetooth didn't work any more, completely dead. When I restored the original files, it started working again. Maybe this is only for the LTE variant of the Jem (which reportedly has another Bluetooth chipset)?
EDIT : I checked that the HCD file above differs from the original one built into the ROM.

Oh my god, I'm so sorry I forgot to mention this is only for lte devices. Sorry!
Understood step 4. But on step 3 when it states replace a file with a file having a different name, does that mean 1) delete original file and put new file in that folder, or 2) rename new file to existing files name and copy over top of existing file replacing it?
Ok, answered my own question and figured it out.
I did not have such a file in the /System/etc/Bluetooth folder.
I renamed the 26mhz file to 20mhz and replaced (overwrote) the file in the /System/vendor/firmware folder.
It is working great finally after issues for the past few years. Awesome. Thanks.

Samsung SM-N960F/DS (BOOTANIMATION.zip missing but I still get Tmobile animation)

I have a rooted Samsung SM-N960F/DS. Flashed Detonator to get Tmobile features.
Now i have the annoying Tmobile boot animation.
I cant find the bootanimation.zip file though. The only files in the system/media are boot ogg files, which i can NOT delete/rename.
What should i do if i want NO boot animation?
My phone is rooted using MAGISK.
But i just noticed I can NOT change anything in the file explorer. Do i need to install SuperSU?
It doesn't even ask me permission to GRANT root permission to the file explorer (RomToolbox).
What is wrong? Please help.
Ok, I found a solution.
SuperSu was disabled in Magisk because I had installed Xposed. So, I installed the "No Device Check" module in Xposed. This activated SuperSu again in Magisk.
Next, i reinstalled RomToolbox.
Detonator had installed Tmobile boot/shutdown media files in a different folder. I found the boot/shutdown files in /system/omc/TMB/res/media. I renamed the the media folder to "media1" (I suppose I could have also deleted the files, but whatever). This reverted the boot/shutdown animation back to the stock/default files!!!
Hope this helps someone out there.
i didnt think there was exposed by original dev for mote 9,??do you have oreo or pie rom?

need help editing mixer_path.xml android 10

Hi
I used to edit the mixer_paths.xml file
( system/vendor/etc) on every custom rom i install to raise the microphone gain . I root the rom and so easily edit and save this file via esfile explorer .
Now the 1st Android 10 rom is out for shamu (beta) and it can be rooted too . But even with magisk root i got ERROR saving the file after editing it via esfile explorer.
I have been told that this is due to Android 10 is system-as-root so i have to mount the Root/ manually as no file explorer can do it now .
Indeed i have no experience at all for this issue.
Any help please ?
The edited file will look like this one ( all RX and DEC increased from 84 to 100 )

That's actually not what I said...
not all file explorers are updated to handle this, so you might have to do it manually

There are of course file explorers that are updated.
I use FX File Explorer (I can highly recommend it over ES, which I personally believe should be avoided) and have no issues editing mixer_paths.xml on my Shamu with the crDroid Android 10 ROM.
Edit: Although I'm not sure if FX has specifically been updated for this, but at least in this case it works.

Thank you so much :good: FX file explorer worked very well.
I preferred not to ask for help in the rom thread as it is not related to its development .
Am going to post this solution there . i hope developers implement this microphone fix in every shamu rom , it really make a huge difference in the mic gain.
I am trying to do what is described in this thread but when I open the file to edit it, I cannot find any of those values. What values should I modify in order to increase the in-call volume of my Exynos Galaxy S9+?

I think this method only works on Nexus 6 . Not for samsung.
But for your issue you can try this simple solution .
https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5/galaxy-s9-s9/s9-call-volume-low/td-p/970348
Thank you! Tried this but unfortunately it didn't work. Any other solutions anyone is aware of?
Edit: After a couple of series of hard brushing, it turned out that this method works
