Unbricking device, stuck on empty board repair. Can someone help? - Honor 9 Lite Questions & Answers

I have a phone that I have tried to rebrand (LLD-AL10 -> LLD-L31). As a start, I used HCU client to write new Model/Vendor/Country..
(following this instruction: https://hcu-client.com/huawei-phone-country-vendor-repair/)
..but since then I haven't got it running again. Flashing the new customization files afterwards failed and phone didn't boot up since then. :crying:
Tried several repair/restore/wipe step-by-steps, now I have ended up with a totally erased device. IMEIs, serial number, model, country, vendor are all blank.
Amongst others I found this guide that actually help me quite far, but unfortunately not all the way.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/9-lite/how-to/guide-unlock-frp-phone-bootlooping-t3808650
I get stuck on step 10 since HCU does not allow me to write the parameters.
CDMA repair including MEID is what I want to do => Error box "use UMTS"
UMTS repair => unknown chipset
2018-11-02 13:10:53.827 Autodetect COM port and phone type start!
2018-11-02 13:10:54.467 Found COM port: COM7
2018-11-02 13:10:54.471 Found phone type: Huawei Android phone (HiSilicon CPU)
2018-11-02 13:10:54.594 ERROR!
Not supported/unknown chipset!
Find it weird that chipset is unknown/not supported, since it was with HCU I actually bricked the device in the first place!?
I currently use v290, according to release notes support for H9L was added in v257 but has that been removed? Unfortunately I've deleted v257 and haven't been able to find it for download.
Today's status:
- unlocked bootloader
- TWRP
- Treble v25 (stucks on bootlogo)
- ADB access
- HCU / Phoenix / Unlocker license
- Full OTA firmware including customization
- Serial# 0123456789ABCDEF
- IMEIs, Model, Vendor, Country are all blank
Will I be able to restore my device from here and how should I do it?

Cannot restore after manufacturer repair (o2)

Hello Guys,
I have HTC HD7 which I have bought from o2, so it is branded to o2. Recently my volume button on the side of the phone has become loose therefore I have phoned up o2 and I asked them to fix it. So they told me to post the phone back to them. Before that I make sure I have backup of my phone so I can always revert it (in zune-> settings -> update -> I have restore point of 27th of July). When I was sending my phone I have a mango beta build on my phone as I registered as developer with Microsoft.
When I got back my phone the volume button it's "fixed", its still loose maybe 3% less... so pretty much the same problem but my phone has been flashed and I have this default o2 ROM. So I though I will restore my backup... but it doesn't work firstly it gets stuck at 0% for ages then it reboots... gets stuck at 0% and after 15 minutes it give me following error: 801812e0.
I have googled the problem there are few "solution" but I cannot get it fix...
I have tried flashing the rom but I cannot find vaild rom which will work on my HTC HD7 (I get error invalid vender id).
Please could you give me any help I will be greatful.

Have you tried just checking if there is an update available via Zune without the restore bit?
Try a reset
or see if you can upgrade to mango again and then try your restore
But wouldn't upgrading my phone now over write the backup which has been taken before last upgrade before repair ?

if your zune shows your back up then go to the USER (your name)/appdata/microsoft/windows phone update and save a copy on another PC or something...
and when you are in mango beta copy this file back to your appdata.. and restore...
this is the error i am getting

Error 801812e0
the user in that thread says he was able to fix it but it need hard reset

Hello, did anyone find a solution to this problem ?
Microsoft said it's ROM related but no specific answer from their support, because they dont support rom updates and I should talk to Nokia.
I bought a Nokia Lumia 800 phone about a month ago and loving it. it came with firmware version 7740.11451
Made a backup and restores worked good.
Then I installed the 8107 update with the cab sender.
Made a backup. all was fine at this point.
Yesterday, I installed the 11501 update using the NCS 5 refurbrish function, knowing that I could restore my backup and all my SMS's will be there as they are deleted by the refurbrish command.
The rom flash to 11501 was OK but now I cant restore my backup.
I can flash other older rom versions, but when I try to restore my working backups I get this error (serial and name erased intentionally):

I tried flashing all the roms from NaviFirm that work for my device but the backups wouldnt restore.
Does a refurbrish command disable the ability to restore to the same phone?
Maybe the fact it's developer unlocked affects it ?
Does anyone have any idea what is verified and why it doesnt work ?
Thanks,
Ran.

unlock, root, efs backup, install custom firmware from on a branded GT-I9000

Hello Folks,
the last days I have read so much, but all tutorials I read are pretty old or lead me in a dead end road.
Could somebody give me some infos what to do and how I get to a good result for my dad's Samsung GT-I9000
Unfortunately I have no windows computer here, which gives my headache with tutorials based on a windows connect. what I have:
- Mac OSX 10.10.4
- Heimdall 1.4, Kies, SmartSwitch installed
- Samsung Galaxy S i9000 (branded from 3 Austria - Hutchinson)
this phone was unlocked from a shop before, but my dad got no "unlock number". it has worked unlocked for some years. I wanted to try out if I can get into recovery by pressing "Vol.Up - ON" (no home button) and it just restarted. since then I get the popup for using "unlock PIN". even a working 3 SIM card from a friend does not work anymore. Android Eclair just shows a SIM symbol in the upper right corner with a red exclamation mark.
If possible, I want to update to a pretty new Android. I have read the post here that Coderom with Android 5.1. even runs on this model fine.
If I would like to jump from this pretty old firmware to such a new one, do I need to root, unlock it first and flash step by step newer Android version? or is it possible to flash the Coderom immediately (after root, unlock and probably a recovery installation)?
If a custom ROM is flashed, is the phone still SIM locked?

First I have tried to backup the important data from the phone (only contacts and photos).
Until now I could not backup the efs folder/partition. (probably I need root first, right?)
I could hardly connect Kies with the phone, but I have not got any data with it. And I got an initialise error if I wanted to update (so 2.2 or 2.3 was not possible). An info box showed to use Smartswitch.
So I have used Smartswitch on the Mac and could connect via USB to the I9000. I have seen public folders and made a backup of the contacts and pictures. An upgrade was not possible too. Thus, the 3 branded Android Eclair is still on the phone.
With "Vol.Up - ON - Menu" boots the recovery.
With "Vol.down - ON - Menu" boots the yellow construction figure state for Odin. (download)
No play-store on the phone. Only google market (where I have not found anything useful). I have searched on apkmirror and could not really find apps for Android 2.1.
---------
what would you suggest to do and in which sequence? (without windows)
- root
- unlock
- backup efs folder
- install clockwork mod
- format somehow f2fs ?
- flash coderom
(do I have to care about german language too? or are most distributions CM etc. multi language?)
thanks for any help!
Michael
It is strange, I have problems now to get into that recovery with the three button combination. Downloading modus works fine.
=>>> Now I got it....I must hold all 3 buttons the same time and wait 2 times for the Samsung logo. After that, I need to leave the power button but not the other 2. That starts the Samsung Recovery.

Need a solution badly.."Invalid ID:Device ID must be a valid IMEI or MAC address."

Need a solution badly.."Invalid IDevice ID must be a valid IMEI or MAC address."
"Invalid ID:
Device ID must be a valid IMEI or MAC address. Without device ID, some Mi Account and Cloud features won't be available."
then it goes for checking device status
Followed by this error:
Couldn't check the Find device status.
What l had done.
A month ago my mi3 started showing "insert sim card" though there was already one in the mobile, i thought that this because of newly "weekly update" but after next update it didn't solved, so i searched for the problem on google and this forum and i found that this problem is hardware one. So i went to the expert, he checked and said that the sim tray is running fine. Then again i waited for an update and it arrived but then again it didn't solved.
Finally i applied "Wipe & Reset" and came the disaster, miui 8 started in fashion but while i was in some elementary steps of selecting language and country I was encountered with this error--
"Invalid ID:
Device ID must be a valid IMEI or MAC address. Without device ID, some Mi Account and Cloud features won't be available."
and I finally stopped at MIUI ACCOUNT Details form.
Followed by this error:
Couldn't check the Find device status.
I reset it several times but the outcome is nil.
I even tried Flashing using Mi pc suite with "miui V7.5.6.0.MXDCNDE" it does nothing and repeated again and again except changing miui 8 (6.7) developer to miui 7.5 stable.
I have no EFS saved
Current status.
phone not opening competely, no debugging option on, no root access.
Is there anyone who can help and guide me.
If you have not tried fastboot, then give it a try. And after it boots try to skip all the MI authentication steps. I think Mi framework is checking something and then giving you error.
Try flashing an old backup. I had the same issue but on pa 6.0(unofficial) or flash a cm rom and see if the problem exists.
There are modules for XPOSED that will allow you to force an IMEI or change various device ID information, you'll be good

QXDM does not work.

Help me! I am using GALAXY S10 (G973U, AT & T, SIM unlock). When I tried to add an LTE band, I used QXDM, but when I first connected it worked fine, but from the second time I did not recognize well due to an error. (The device is not recognized even if the device is selected is COM: 0.) The driver uses the SAMSUNG DIAG driver. Do I have to use Qualcomm's diag driver? If you can't go without it, which driver should you use? Also, even if I select it in the NV browser, the message "diag error received invalid command error response" is displayed and the settings cannot be changed. I don't know what to do. Please help someone
QXDM v3 was released almost a decade ago and can't recognize these new modems. You need to get the latest version of QxDM which is really hard to find as it requires a license.
I am also on the same boat with my Mi A3.

VoLTE fix with Lineage OS if operator of SIM not provisioned

## Disclaimer ##
No waranties of any kind given.
This is a guide following a procedure I tested for myself.
If you do not understand a particulary step refer to documentation provided elsewhere already.
## Prerequisites
You already unlocked a device and know what to do.
You are familiar with shell access and editing files.
* OEM unlock possible and code present
* fastboot
* adb (only tested on Linux)
* latest TWRP
* latest Lineage OS build
in case you come from Lineage OS:
* newflasher
* Xperifirm
* latest stock firmware according to your geographical region
## Guide
Reflash stock firmware if you came from Lineage OS or unlock bootloader
Boot into TWRP
Mount system partition
Mount oem partition of active slot
Edit default modem.conf in oem partition according to files found in /system/etc/customizations/modem for your carrier.
In case you already used your SIM before in that phone: reflash cust-reset.ta with newflasher
Insert SIM if not already present and setup phone
Restart to apply customization for your carrier (VoLTE maybe still not working with stock firmware though customization was applied)
Shutdown
Install Lineage OS (all usual instructions apply)

After updating LineageOS 18.1 with built-in updater, my phone was endlessly booting (LineageOS symbol showing for ever).
After following many suggestions, like downloading stock ROM with XperiFirm, installing it with newflasher to slots a and b, sideloading LineageOS again, I finally got the OS running but without sensors and communication devices (WIFI, bluetooth and such). After doing everything again, I have the system running with the sensors and the comm devices but WITHOUT working SIM. :-(
SIM card is recognized, PIN excepted but no radio, i.e. connection to the cell. I get "No SIM card" and I can't connect.
I very much hoped your solution can help getting back to normal but can't since it is very brief and files like modem.conf or /system/etc/customizations don't exist on my phone (at least "find" doesn't find 'em). I can't mount oem partition since TWRP doesn't give me the option.
Could you explain a little more why you had to find that solution in the first place and how exactly you fixed it?
Thank you very much! I'm sure other's will benefit as well.
(I'm a little verbose here because I hope that finding this site is easier with more words in it. Once the explanation is refurbished, many people will be happy.)

Sounds like you forgot copy_partitions.zip referred in Lineage OS installation instructions maybe?
I somehow remember this problem in a different context.

I tested with latest generic uk firmware and modified modem.conf only present in oem partition of stock firmware while trying to figure out the whole process. Applying settings needs to be done on stock firmware this way.

I found no way of modifying required settings in modem partition otherwise so far while thinking about a more generic way which could be applied in Lineage OS directly. Switching SIM / carrier involves applying configurations to baseband which need a reboot so far discovered. I cannot replicate this in Lineage directly.

Thanks for help, xcalc.
I did sideload (ran) "copy-partitions-20210323_1922.zip". No SIM anyway.
I couldn't modify the files you mentioned since I couldn't see them. Couldn't mount oem partition.
I didn't even switch the SIM card. I've been using the same for many years, different phones, different ROMs.
Anyway, thank and take care.
