Bing Map services are limited. There was a chart showing what region that has the service floating around last Dec.
To use the GPS, you need go out, find a clear view of sky and wait for a few minutes for it to lock on.

It's working now, it's just wait I had an HD2 with WP7 and GPS synced almost the same time I initiated Maps... On HD7 it doesn't happen, I have to wait a few seconds... BUT it works fine
Just investigating which one are you using for your Android phone.
I have tested Sygic which is nice but FC is high and Motonav which has good maps but UI is really bad...
So if you could help me to decide and tell me what is available for our andoid hd2 would be nice.
tnx
I use the Google Navigation, works quite good.
Only downside is that it doesn't show the speed.
I've also used Sygic Aura, but I didn't like it.

other downside is that it isn't offline navigation and uses phone data connection for maps.
I've tried it also but didn't tell you that i need "offline" maps too in the first post

I use also Google Navigation, and it is very simple and usefull.
I use Navigon at the moment, quite good but doesnt always take you the way you want to go, but all sat nav's suffer this. The trouble of knowing local roads I guesss
Im using sygic without any issue, but make sure you are using v.8.24 !
Hope it helps ;-)

If you plan your route at home, it will cache the maps needed,
so this way it works offline.
But I don't know for sure, and if you change your route, you will need a data connection.
While I was googling this, I found mapdroyd.com
seems to be Google Maps, the offline version (haven't tried myself)
I've tried most of them, but found iGo MyWay to be the best by far.
hi
I use the Google Navigation, works quite good.
any nevigation data for Pakistan ?
i use copilot, have modified the voice (italian) using funny sentences from public domain tomtom voices.. it works fine imho.

How did you get it on the HD2? Do you have to be running Sense?

Ah, I couldn't find it on the Market, and I was reading and thought it might be affiliated with HTC Sense or something.
Google maps will come with an offline version soon. http://www.androidworld.nl/84790/google-maps-navigatie-binnenkort-met-offline-kaarten/ (dutch link) This will save a lot in data traffic. I hope they add speed and speedcams to it as well.
The most usefull part of google maps for me is the very acurate traffic information, by far the best I've seen.
i use Aura sygic, it's the best GPS i've try on Android 2.3.3, can use it offline, just download maps before.
I have only used google navigator. I was most impressed by its ability to track my location and announce voice prompts when the screen is off, which saved a lot of the battery and the necessity to have a dash/windshield mount.
i use Copilot live. but i missed my iGo and tomtom on winmo
Try nDrive, it's ok, but I preffer Sygic

I agree!!!!!!
Good Day, I have for 2 years my SGS (i9000) and i´d noticed one unusual thing. When I start navigation and turn GPS on, when setted as car navigation, everything shows ordinary, but when I turn setup of navigation software into walk mode, I immediately change position by few meters and turn right or left. I am strafing then.
It is not depend on what software I am using. When I run navigon, when setings is for walk nav, everything shakes on screen and I am unable to use that.
Does anyone what can I do? Is there some kind of GPS callibration software? It is not depend on what firmware (rom) I use.
Thank You.

Could you test GPS on this ROM?
I love this rom, and I'm using it. But, I cannot use GPS. Google Map and Here Map cannot detect my location. The Searching for GPS notification showing for a long time but app cannot detect my location. (Location Mode: High accuracy)
Do you have the same problem?
Any solution :crying:
I found solution!
When I moving by motorbike, I opened Google Map. And after 4 minutes, it could find my location. Now, I can use GPS without moving.
Thanks for everyone!
I find no solution , I feel the same

Since the Update 03.01.16 I only can use GPS while moving (by bus or the same speed):crying:
Hi there
99% of time I am not using navigation tools
So the interest of having GPS ON is limited exept to the weather widget that give you the weather you can see throught the windshield
Is there a way to disable and enable it other than using a fake GPS app?
Thanks in advance
Block location permission for the app or with root.
AA refuse to start without this permission
It is the reason of my question!
Sorry you were right! GPS is required for 1st lunch, not after
Good Thank you
