[Kernel][SM-J610F]Patched boot image for Samsung Galaxy J6+ - Samsung Galaxy J6+ ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries, & Ot

IT IS NOT ALLOW TO SHARE ANYTHING FROM THIS THREAD OUT OF XDA WITHOUT MY PERMISSION (LINK TO THIS THREAD INSTEAD)
As always from Samsung, the most recent protected device against Root is J6+ (SM-J610F) & J4+ (SM-J415F)
In these devices Samsung provides an compressed kernel image into the boot image with gzip compressing method
preventing any patches that the Root needs to do to be able to get full permissions on the device.
The currently security exists in that kernel is defex protection that prevent a lot of applications to get Root access like [Titanium backup, ES File Explorer, FRep.....etc] and all other process that needs to run as Root in a custom paths.
In other devices we can bypass that security by just hexpatch directly to the kernel image but in this device the kernel image is compressed with gzip and has some restrictions prevent us from normal decompressing-recompressing.
So until get and add final solution to Magisk releases I compiled the stock kernel AS IS just disabled that security and Rooted with Magisk 17.3,
to make it a temporarily solution to fully Root that device.
The kernel doesn't have any features only disabled the security So it is Full stock with Root.
Flash with odin

I reboot the phone while Titatium Backup app stuck in uninstall process and now the phone freeze at boot logo Samsung Galaxy J6+ with the yellow small text at the top "Set Warranty Bit : kernel".

In my opinion, it's temporary root method.
Lost root after couple of days (don't know why or how).
Repeated process again and rooted device.

Combination Rom is a little bit older version 'J610FXXU1ARI3', while you need 'J610FXXU1ARJ3' to work.
I made the same mistake and device did not work.
NOTE: BACKUP YOUR DEVICE FIRST.
1- Find and install stock rom 'J610FXXU1ARJ3' for your region.
2- Setup your device (do not use pattern or pin or password or fingerprint lock yet)
3- After that, flash this patched boot image in odin 'AP' mode.
4- Your device might ask you to reset (it's normal)
5- Lastly, your device might gonna take a verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy long time to start android os.
6- Setup your device, run magisk app, update it to full manager (if you want to).
7- Install from magisk, choose 'Recommended' option.
8- Check root.
Note: I did a restart and lost root (might be some other reason, possibly), do not let your device battery out.
Wolla, I've successfully rooted my SM-J610F.
NOTE: This process may be variant, but that's how i rooted mine. All you need is to study blogs carefully, because there might be some key points, that you might have ignored. Google, Google again, again and again and again again......................., until you find, you are looking for and please DO NOT BLAME ANYONE, if your device is bricked or lost or burnt or died or crashed or whatever.

hi, OEM lock/unlcok setting can be found under the developer options, if it lock and you want to unlock it, it will asked to do a hard reset on your device including the internal storage, so you need to back up everything before you want to proceed.

hi @AndroDef, can you mod and overclock this kernel cpu & gpu freq and add touch boost feature? j6+ is so laggy for playing games, for comparison I have an old samsung a3 2016 that can run games more smooth running LOS 14.1 with modded kernel (it enables the 8 cores and the gpu freq can reach max at 800mhz)

Can we have LINEAGE OS for j6+?

Galaxy S I9000M - keep rebooting (software brick)

Hi,
I managed to brick my Samsung Galaxy S I9000M.
Was locked on Virgin network (Canada) and I was trying to root the phone and then unlock it.
But something didn;t work properly (or I made a mistake) and now the phone keeps rebooting. I can go into Download mode but nothing more.
This is what I did:
1) I installed Odin 1.85
2) I started ODIN as admin, I pressed on PDA and then I selected a zip folder called
"CF-Root-XX_OXA_JVO-v3.2-CWM3RFS"
3) This is what ODIN was showing:
<ID:0/003> Added!!
<ID:0/003> Odin v.3 engine (ID:3)..
<ID:0/003> File analysis..
<ID:0/003> SetupConnection..

<ID:0/003> RES OK !!
<ID:0/003> Completed..
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 1 / failed 0)
<ID:0/003> Removed!!
5) So after waiting 5-6 minutes (in this time the phone was rebooting up to the Samsung logo) I turned off the phone and I have tried to start the device. But is not starting anymore, it keeps rebooing.
Now I don't know what to do to fix it.I know that I made a big mistake, I was not supposed to do something without knowing what I'm doing...But now it's too late, I have to fix it.
Note: The phone was running Android 2.3 (Gingerbread)
if its in boot loop then look like it's only softwoer brick.
so if you can get in to download mode by 3 bouten combination greate you can try to reflash (I will try all so to redownloading the files)
if not than you must find a JIG or some one with a JIG to get in to download mode and reflash.
The version of CF-ROOT you selected is not compatible with the version of GB (UGKG3?) that was on your phone.
If your phone had UGKG3 installed, there are very few rooted kernels available for it.

Is the latest speed mod kernel compatible?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
Yes, I can go into download mode.
How can I reflash the phone ? Which kernel should I use ?
Sorry but I'm new in this.
If you give me some links that will be great.
I don't want to aggravate the situation .
If the OP has/had UGKG3 installed, I have found that to be the oddest ROM I have used to date on my phone.
It does a lot of things differently.
I made another post on here where I attached a basic rooted kernel for the UGKG3 ROM. Let me go find it and link to it.
Again, this is assuming it was UGKG3. Ma Bell has only released one GB ROM for the GT-i9000m, so I think it's a safe bet that's what the OP was running on his Virgin branded phone.
EDIT: Here it is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21655532&postcount=492
This will give you a basic rooted kernel, no CWM or anything else, just root.
You'll also need to download Superuser from the Market.
Thank you.
Now how should I install that kernel?
I suppose that after I reflash the phone it will start normally and then I can go to the Android market and install Superuser from there?
Is there a link with instructions (Step by Step guide)?
Sorry, but I dont have too much experience with this.
Thanks a lot!
I found this in the General thread, it has links and step-by-step instructions:

My phone is fine now. It's rooted and I managed to unlock it using Galaxy_S Unlock + SuperBox from the market.
Thanks a lot .
This is what my phone shows now:
Firmware: 2.3.3
Baseband version: I9000UGKG3
Kernel version: [email protected]#2
Build number: GINGERBREAD.GKG3
Great, glad you got your phone working again.

Soft Brick Bootloop HELP

Hi guys, I could really use some help here.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S5, yesterday I used Odin 3.10 to root my phone. I rooted it using 'CF-Auto-Root-kltespr-kltespr-smg900p.tar'. 5.0, Lollipop
It appeared to work just fine and booted fine. I then attempted to flash the TWRP ROM, with Odin 3.10, using twrp-klte.tar.md5.
Again, it booted fine.
After this I was trying to install a module on the Xposed installer app but it told me the framework was not installed.
SO, I installed the framework, again using Odin 3.10. with xposed-v81-sdk21-arm (it was version 80 something)
Now It's bootlooped/softbricked.
I've already tried wiping all the cache and gavlik (sp?), I've tried resetting to factory settings, I've tried re installing the custom rom, I've even tried downloading the original stock rom. Nothing works. I've waited 10-15mins with each different thing I've installed and it still just sits on the Sprint spark screen.
I'm now at the current point where, when I go into recovery mode, it seems to be the old stock rom (Teamwin screen no longer appears) and I did cache resets here and factory reset and rebooted and again it's been half an hour on the Sprint Spark screen.
Am I missing something? If anyone can please suggest a working solution I'd really appreciate it.
Which framework? You have to use Wanam Xposed or Systemless Xposed by Topjohnwho because the official version by Rovo bootloop on Samsung devices.

If everything fails download stock rom from Sammobile and install stock rom again with odin pc. Then install twrp and root again. Then install Wanam arm xposed version.
I had an S5 in the past and I remember that sometimes in TWRP recovery the message appears to install stock recovery again do not do that.

Thanks for the reply.
I actually just finished downloading the Stock rom, I ran it through odin 3.11 and now I'm getting the following error
The stock rom I downloaded was G900PVPU1BOA6_G900PSPT1BOA6_G900PVPU1BOA6_HOME.tar.md5 (Samsung Galaxy S5 SMG-900P
This is the error I''m getting. So now it won't even install the Stock ROM

Ok.... update
So I was able to boot into recovery and it shows I have TWRP v2.7.0.0
So now how do I install Wanama's xposed v86? I've downloaded it. Do I just do it through odin again?
Ok so I figured how to load xposed-uninstaller through adb onto my sd card. installed it through twrp and cleared the davlik cache or whatever it's called, rebooted and bootloop fixed!
HOWEVER, that wanam x86 sdk 22 xposed doesn't work. I tried installing that through TWRP and it told me it's the wrong version
Thanks so much for your help!
Should I just upgrade my firmware to marshmellow and then root and install xposed that way?? would that be easier?

Flash the stock firmware via Odin
Put the new custom rom on your sd card
Install a custom recovery
Wipe cache
Flash the ROM
Let your phone boot and wait for the rom to settle
Go back to recovery and install the frameworks compatible with your phone (have the uninstall zip on sd card just in case something goes wrong)
Boot
Install Xposed apk
Everything should work just fine

Galaxy S7 (G930F) black screen w keylock need recover data (rookie)

Hi all,
my Galaxy S7 got water in after service repair and screen blacked out. Samsung does not help me out in any matter even it's their fault. They did not "glue" de back cover properly.
Anyway, I am going to buy a new device now but I want to copy my holiday pics, some additional files and whatsapp stuff. While Whatsapp is not that much important as it will probably restore most of the conversations in the new phone then.
I've been reading now in this forum and some others for the last whole week but I am a bit confused and actually was not able to find the solution which fits for me.
So I kindly ask for the experts here if possible to guide me a bit.
Which would be the most simple and safe way to access e.g. the adb. Flashing a rom seems to require some actions on the device which is not possible. May be a bootloader? CWM is being mentioned everywhere but I cannot find the correct version for S7 for download.
For those who are interested and better understanding, below you can find detailed information what the current situation is.
Device Model : G930F.
Device is working except the screen (lucky? I don't know).
When I charge it and switch on, after a while I can use the whatsapp over PC with the phone powered on. All media is still available.
I have fingerprint protection. Cannot use it because as you know S7 asks to enter the password when power up.
I've tried to enter the password but was apparently not successful. Smart Switch says unlock device first. when I think I've entered the password it says "device is not allowing file transfer over usb. Unlock your device first and bla bla"
did the same with the OTG adapter of S7 out of the box and connected a keyboard. but the same.
USB Debugging is OFF.
Google and Samsung Device manager are off.
Wireless is on

Connecting the keyboard to type the password should unlock the device as long as you are certain that you are entering the password correctly at the correct time. After that, you probably also need to find a way to access USB options to enable MTP access. Then you should be able to retrieve your data.
Also, if there is a version of TWRP recovery for your model number, you can boot to download mode and flash the TWRP recovery, then boot into TWRP recovery, then you can access your data by connecting to adb while in TWRP to pull copies of what you want using an adb terminal, or you can use the terminal that is built into TWRP to retrieve the data from the device directly instead of using PC, you can also probably use the file manager that is built into TWRP to copy your data.
There are also various android data recovery programs for PC. Try your luck with a few, one may work for you, they're all about the same so there really isn't one better than the other.

Thanks for the advice.
One questions;
* I understand that when I root or install any custom rom the device locks the private folder. That would mean I will loose some files there. Or would you say TWRP is not a ROM thus I would be able to acces them. Asuming I access the device with my password?
One more thing,
I am now reading the procedures for TWRP but it seems it needs some actions from the touch screen which I cannot do.
Do I miss anything?
Update:
I tried to to install TWRP with Odin but it fails.
I tried the most current and last 3 versions but it fails.

TWRP isn't "locked out" of anything, it does what it wants wherever it wants to do it.
Also, root gives you the power to access, modify or remove anything about the device. There are no files or folders that you would be locked out of.

Have you researched whether your device model number has a locked bootloader? If the bootloader is locked then flashing TWRP won't work.
You can also try reading this thread for failed Odin flash.

TWRP isn't "locked out" of anything, it does what it wants wherever it wants to do it.
Also, root gives you the power to access, modify or remove anything about the device. There are no files or folders that you would be locked out of.

I believe it was in one of the threads in a forum or even XDA. But did not saved the link. Sorry.
Model number of my device is : SM-G930F
The device is as it is. Stok. Did not touched anything. even most of the settings might be in default mode. Did just OTA upgrades as soon as they were released. So it's up to date now.
I did a lot research but I'm not sure what that is. "Locked Bootloader" I don't remember that I have read such subject.
In summary what do u want???

Ran into an issue, Samsung Account, "session expired". Logs me out instantly. Also can you remove the tamper lock that appears on boot?
Also I can confirm that Dolby Atmos works after unroot. Very nice sound.

Awesome this fixes all the issues I had: Wi-Fi calling, Video Calling, 911, e-mail app and adding languages to Samsung Keyboard
@jkruse I did crash in upload trying to re-root:
I tried to flash the ENG kernel using the AP button in Odin, is that correct? With Stang's ROM it was the CSC....
I am suspecting it may have been Secure Startup that caused the boot-loop.
Jkruse, can you confirm to use the AP button in Odin to flash the ENG? I turned off secure boot.
Thanks for great work!!

Thanks @MarvinMod. Followed all the instructions to the letter and rooted my device with no problems.
Hello, I cannot get this to work.
I am stuck on this step:
***************************
4- On your PC open odin, click options and uncheck auto reboot, click Log, click AP, select the recovery.zip file, click start. Wait for Pass
***************************
Odin tries to upload the recovery.tar file (.tar, not .zip) but at the end it fails. Then I have to reboot the phone and wait, patiently, until it boots into Android, then, and only then can I try to switch it off, and all over again.

Did you make sure oem unlock is checked in development options before booting to download mode and flashing recovery.tar with odin? (Step 2). You must boot to Android, check oem unlock then boot to download mode and flash. Is the bootloader unlocked? Check to make sure your using odin version i supplied under the tools link bottom of guide. Im not at my PC but the version that I know works is 3.13.3 or something close to that, ill confirm later when home.

You can't hard brick the A70 and sure thing. I posted a comment on your post you made. If its in a bootloop, hold vol up and down during the bootloop while connected to a PC till it boots to download mode. Then flash latest stock and reboot.
Also, you need odin version 3.13.3, youll find it in the tools link at bottom of guide.
Can't wait to do this.
Question though, what is the "Pass Safetynet"?

After install of twrp and boot to it, you need to format data... Click wipe, advanced wipe, format data, type yes then click blue check mark lower right corner. Reboot to recovery then you can flash DFE then format data again and reboot to system.
Perfect guide, simply, easy and working!
I faced a weird problem. My touch stopped working after installing TWRP, so I could not perform Step 6.
Solution to this: Connect an external mouse to your device via an OTG connector and use it as a pointing device to perform the rest of the steps on TWRP.
Cheers,
Amey
