hi. sorry for this noob question because i am kinda new to samsung. my question is would it be possible to change csc from tgy to xtc? my note 9 is a snapdragon variant from hongkong. and i am currently in the philippines. and if this is possible will there be any problems like ota update and future updates of the phone? thank you and hoping anyone can enlighten me with this matter.
Why would you want to do this? As you can still receive OTA updates for your device, no matter where you are in the world. I am currently using the Korean Note 8 N950N in Hong Kong and I am still receiving OTA updates from Korea.
hi @iceepyon. thank you for your reply. my problem is if i am using samsung members app the support team answering me is from samsung hong kong and not from samsung philippines which is where i am. if i need repairs and stuff i wont be able to go to hong kong as i am here in the philippines. samsung benefits is not working as well. and some of samsung app like the galaxy app is showing hong kong currency not in peso. now my question is if i change my csc to philippines will i be able to use features that is for the local unit on my hong kong unit?

You won't be able to get support from Samsung Philippines anyway as they will be able to find out that you have a Hong Kong device when they check the IMEI number of your device.
oh ok. well i guess i am stuck with it. thanks @iceepyon.

Isn't the new OS's changing CSC when putting a different region/country SIM on the next reboot, when you click YES on first boot(clean boot with the new SIM) to reset and change the CSC of the phone ?! It is one time only use after pressing NO or YES it will not show it again before wiping the phone again. My phone a DBT was set to XEO after a week on service center in Poland, even flashing it multiple times it wouldn't change from it, till I put my Germany SIM and press YES. Hope it helped a bit
It will change the last of them not all CSC
My was
DBT/DBT/XEO
and normal is
DBT/DBT/DBT
I got Canadian N960W Note 9 (Snapdragon) and first time I put Croatian SIM card CSC hasn't changed.
PDA: N960WVLU1ARJA
Active CSC: BMC (Bell Mobility Canada)
I'm still looking if there is a way to inject local CSC (SEE or DHR) into this firmware in order to get volte/vowifi. I don't really care about updates/OTA.

You need to check that your Cell Provider offers WiFi Calling and VolTE capabilities.

Hi friends
I have been on stock rom for a while and contacted Samsung they have updates for LTE ver to NOugat but no for Wifi ver they don't care and no more updates. Thats why I hate samsung after service and same issue for my TV as well. Regret buying it.
Anyway since I am now on stock rom Android 6.0 I would like to flash it my self.
Do I need to unlock the bootloader or come with unlocked?
Which rom do you recommend is stable and receive OTA regularly?
Million thanks
SM-T810 is wifi model, bootloader is not locked as LTE version
You can download and flash by yourselft. ( Cellular South is US )
https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-tab-s2/SM-T810/XAR/download/T810XXU2DQCL/128440/
Hi thank you for reply
Will Cellular south make any difference in any where or lack of anything, if my tab is from Hong Kong?

Region is not important as all Samsung S2 tablets are the same hardware, only firmware and software are customized for certain region.
Right now, there are many firmwares for Android 7 in different countries.
Go to sammobile then select the region closed to your country like Singapore where many people speaks Chinese.
Today, I flashed a Hong Kong firmware to my SM-P580 ( US version ) to bypass FRP. I don't know Chinese but there is no problem to switch to English
at the first screen of settings.
After that, I flashed Germany firmware, Android 7, to a now Hong Kong tablet to get Nougat.
I don't have any problem to flash firmware from different region to my US tablet because I have a choice to select English as my language.
I went from US to Hong Kong, then Germany tablet without any problem.

Hello All,
My Note 9 is out for delivery today. After some research I decided to go for the N-9600 in the UK for the snapdragon processor. As it is GSM I shouldn't have any issues. I'm assuming it will ship with Android 8. I was hoping to install a fresh Android 9 before doing anything.
I've downloaded Odin and the firmware from the following location:
https://firmwarex.net/samsung-note-9-sm-n9600-stock-rom/
Is this going to be the best one to go for? When downloading new ones am I best looking for a Hong Kong version to ensure it has english language?
Any tips RE which firmware to go for would be most appreciated. I'm not too fused about root at this stage and want to keep the bootloader locked.
Thanks in advance.

Would definitely NOT recommend getting firmwares from that website.
Use SamFirm to get them straight from Samsung servers.
Use SM-N9600 as the model number and TGY as the CSC / region code.
TGY is Hong Kong unbranded, it has Google Services and the English language.
Just keep in mind it will not have VoLTE / WiFi calling and Samsung Pay functionality.
I wont use VoLTE / WiFi calling and Samsung Pay functionality anyway so thats fine.
Thanks for the info i'm downloading now! Most appreciated.

they are already unlocked, you just need to check if they use the same bands in NZ.
I used my N9 in England without a problem with the stock firmware.
Regards . Saludos.

What model is your device sm-n960F or SM-N9600 i am in NZ and have SM-N9600 which is the Asia and south american variant
there is no NZ Firmware for it and you wont be able to receive VOLTE (Some helpful error about not being supported on this software version) but you can get Wifi Calling from 2degrees

Thanks you so much!
It works on the relevant bands including rural 700mhz 4g so long its not carrier locked it works 98% (no VOLTE)
There is my situation:
I have a Samsung Note9 phone with model number: SM-N9600. I heard that there is possible to update my android to 10 version. But i didn't received any update yet. My phone has this version of android 9:
"N9600ZHS4CTA2/N9600OWT4CSK1/N9600ZCS4CSKA
Security patch level: January 1, 2020"
It would be a problem if i try to flash another firmway version for SM-9600 which has the android 10 update?

That explains why you're not getting the update. Use samsung phone info in playstore to check csc.

Of course as long as it's same model. If you're in doubt, just flash firmware of same csc(like mine is XME as shown in phone info app)
Use samfirm/frija to download the firmware.

I can't keep the same CSC because on it I don't have android 10.
Greetings folks, i have been reading a bit about changing the csc of the phone, I own a s21 Ultra G998B version and its branded with a owo rom, i live in Chile, and the Claro company of course is not up to date with the otas, and also i want to flash a clean rom with no bloatware. I read that with samkey i can change the CSC to an OXO (mine is owo) rom so i can then flash the muti csc rom. I also read that in order for samkey to work i have to roll back to may update? i'm currently on august update. am I correct in the process? can anyone recommend to which csc i can change so i won't turn my phone into a mess
thanks to all who can provide some light jeje

hi, yes it is, but i looked in samfirmware and the cho version is until august, so i think it would be the same? mine is chl which is for CLARO company and is also in august update, i would like september updates so i can try the andy 12 beta
When I bought it, it had May firmware. I changed CSC before any other update .
So , may update is working for SamKey.
Otherwise, you need to flash with latest Odin the may firmware of your CSC you want (downgraded)
Hello, could someone please tell me, is it possible to flash g998u1 with Thailand firmware, Chinese, etc?

No to both. Thailand FW is configured for the Exynos SoC. The China FW, even though it's configured for the Snapdragon SoC it's not compatible with the US Unlocked variant. Do you live in Thailand? If so I'm curious why you aquired a US device. We often see users buying non native devices, maybe they got a good price, maybe they moved out of their region, maybe it's a company issued phone but it's a pain when call features or 5G don't align with your service provider. Flashing non stock firmware often causes more problems than it solves. Samsung is moving closer and closer to proprietary software for individual models, mix and match is becoming a thing of the past.

I live in Kaliningrad, Russia. This device I've bought for 30usd, new, boxed,, here, in Russia, so I was looking for ways to make it work as a Russian device(full menu translation, bands, etc.). Actually no matter, which language is used, at first I had troubles using android 11-there was no esim. Than using abd I flashed it to oneui 4.0, esim works, all lte bands are supported.

$30 USD is an awesome deal! If all bands and esim are functional that's probably as good as it gets. Unfortunately Exynos compatible FW which is dominant in Russia can't be installed on your device. Gboard may be your best option for Russian Language.
