starting a few days ago, my recents, and home buttons will go missing, and the notification drop down menu refuses to pull down.
I go in and out of apps, lock screen unlock, and just do random stuff and they reappear.
I've wiped cache in twrp.
I've been on the same nought rom for a year, it randomly started recently.
anyone have any ideas?
Only way to go would be a hard reset, then, look for a firmware prior the one you are using now, and flash it through newest Odin version
I agree with winol on this. It also could be wrong went wrong when you install twrp. You may want to read up on how to install twrp and check to see that you have installed it properly.

Last night, I downloaded InnovationsOS v3 from the Nexus One Android Development forum. Prior to this I was using FRF50, and I have a rooted Tmobile Nexus One. I wiped the phone back to factory settings and also wiped the Dalvik cache (as I've been told in the past). Flashing went just fine and within a few minutes I had InnovationsOS after a reboot. (Let me just say, with this one minor exception, InnovationsOS looks incredible and I loved every minute of it).
After install, I set up AdFree which removes ads. I decided to do a quick reboot. The reboot wasn't so quick, and it stuck on the startup screen (the Nexus One/Google logo with the unlocked symbol below) for about 3 minutes. I didn't think this was good, so I tried a battery pull hoping for a normal reboot. Instead, what I got was the android falling out of the box. I tried a battery pull again and attempted to enter recovery, which worked. I wiped, and reloaded FRF50, and rebooted. I got the android and the box image, which wouldn't let me even boot into recovery anymore after several battery pulls. After a couple minutes of being completely stumped (and scared lifeless) I let the phone sit, and somehow it booted into recovery, where I wiped (again) and flashed InnovationsOS (again). After it loaded, it rebooted, and it's been working great since then, with the exception of one minor screen/keyboard bug...I press S, and get Z, or I press delete, and I get enter, etc. Plus hitting OK or Cancel on dialog boxes is impossible and need to use the trackball.
So, I would like to reboot to fix this problem and want to know what will happen, and I want to know what I did wrong above. I know all this sounds completely noob for this forum but I'm willing to learn, which is why I've been experimenting with rooting and flashing roms.
Thanks a lot, any help is appreciated.
Not sure if anyone else has had the same issue but I couldn't find anything on it. I installed rooted and then installed Null. Decided to go back to stock. Flashed the stock firmware back on. after first boot I was missing the apps menu, so I rebooted back into recovery mode and let it do its restore thing. Now I have the apps menu back but no notification icon, I get notifications but there's nowhere to go in a preview it. I've tried factory reset, recovery, re-flashing stock rom, nothing. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Dan
Never mind, figured it out. Had to reset the gear and restart a new profile in gear manager. Seem like it remembered that I never had a notification icon, even though I didn't delete it. Thanks
So my N910T is stuck on the Welcome screen after flashing back to stock. I flashed C0G2. I'm thinking maybe it was the update or something, but it's like 1.6gigs so I figured it's the full rom.
The reason I flashed back to stock in the first place is because I was messing around, trying different roms, when I ran across one that made my screen seem semi-unresponsive. Nothing I touched would respond. I would touch the screen and it would like up to the touch, but nothing else. If I sit there and play with it long enough I'll accidentally get a button to respond. When I pressed the power button I get the "power off/restart options, but when I press one the phone doesn't power down.
I'm downloading the NIH now (which is 4.4.4) and try flashing it. I don't know what else to do.
Wipe your data partition as well as caches. You can't downgrade and expect it to work like that.
Hi All,
Sorry if this is asked before. I have a new Note 5 unlocked. I turned it on yesterday and started using it. Late at night, its screen froze. I tried pressing Power+Volume_Down buttons to restart the phone. The phone restarted but the the screen was black. Only the notification light was on (blue).
In the morning, the light was still on and the phone was froze. I tried restarting it and I succeeded it. Then I realized the phone was very, I mean veeeery slow. By the time, a firmware update notification popped up. I believe it was Marsmallow update. I hit the yes button. The phone started the update and was stuck at %24. Then it restarted itself. The update process starts over and when it reaches %24, it starts over.
This happened before with my note 4 when I tried to root it. This phone is brand new and is not rooted. However, I transferred my Google profile but I did not select to download my previous apps. So, I don't think it is rooting issue but stucking at the same percentage makes me nervous.
I tried to get into recovery mode but the button combination does not work at all. So I can neither factory reset nor clear the cahe partition. When I press Volume_Down+Home+Power buttons, a custom rom download screen appears but Volume_Up+Home+Power buttons do not work at all. I cannot shut off the phone. It constantly restarts itself, starts the update, fails at %24 and starts the process over again.
What might be the problem? How can I fix this?
Regards
Hi,
Try flashing some stockfirmware via Odin (ideally something of the same android version i.e. lollipop/marshmallow). Once it's installed you should be able to access recovery from which I strongly recommend clearing your cache afterwards as you've already suggested. If you are not worried about loosing any data, then flash new firmware that is inclusive of BL/CP/CSC files too (each one has a category for such in Odin). With the latter, by all means flash marshmallow etc. :good:

My Tab S2 T719Y has started acting really weird recently. For some reason, it would stall trying to run any ROM that I flash to it.
I'm not certain if it's a LineageOS problem or something is dead in the tablet.
I can flash (the few available still maintained) ROMs offered on the forums for my specific model.
The flash would go fine and everything seems to boot fine. I can install GApps and all. Not a single error mesage.
Then it gets to the new device setup wizard and then it stalls with a black screen. Or in the case of having GApps installed, I can choose a language and press Start at the start of the setup wizard, but I end up in a "Just a min.." bootloop and the tablet is unable to do anything except go back to the language select startup page.
The tablet seems to be running fine beneath. The touch buttons light up and haptic feedback still works. By double tapping the Back button I can get the system UI to show that it's switching between apps, but leads to another blank screen. By pulling down from the top, I can even pull open the notifications bar and quick settings. And I'm able to switch them on an off fine.
I've even tried flashing old ROMs that I know for a fact would run fine, but those end up in the same dead screen.
I've tried wiping and formatting everything in the tablet: Dalvik, System, Data, Storage, Cache ... all to no avail.
What is going on here? I'm reading in some Reddit threads that there might be some data access problem?
How do I resolve this?
Restore the stock ROM using odin and 4-file firmware and check again. If it is OK, go ahead
Thank you! That miraculously revived the tablet back from the dead.

Where can I find 4-file firmware.? I tried using Odin to go back to stock 7.0, but the tablet after reboot stops at the Samsung logo. Tried flashing several times and same thing. Help!
