Already do that. Nothing change
Can you see the charge level when it is on charger ?
1. Turn off the phone by holding the Power button
2. Press and hold the Volume Down button for about 2-3 seconds
3. While still holding this key press the Power Button for a short while and release keys
4. Then choose, Recovery by using to navigate Volume Down, and to confirm Volume Up
5. Now you see an Android logo press and hold Vol Up for a while
7. While still holding the Volume Up button, press and release the Power button
8. Press Volume Down to choose wipe data/factory reset, and push the Power button to confirm
9. Select "Yes--delete all user data". Use Volume Down button to scroll and Power button to select
10. Now, To restart the phone, select reboot system now

I have read that a hard reset is activated by:
1. Turn off the device if it is turned on
2. (Plug the device into the computer USB Port) Press and hold the Volume Up, Volume Down, and the Power Button at the same time for about three to four seconds to turn the device on, if done correctly you’ll see an Android lying on its back
3. Use the volume buttons to navigate to the Recovery Mode option, and press the Power Button to confirm your choice
4.The device will restart, and after a few minutes the device should boot to a screen showing an Android with a red triangle, press and hold (release buttons after 5 seconds) the Power Button and Volume Up on this screen
5. Use the volume buttons to navigate to Wipe Data / Factory Reset and press the Power Button to confirm our choice
6. Use the volume buttons to navigate to Yes and press the Power Button to confirm your choice
All goes well till after #2 after i plug in the device to computer via usb port it the tablet freezes and i can not navigate to recovery mode or anything.
Have I missed a step or is something wrong? If onboard recovery process is broke is there a way to fix it?
Why you make a duplicate thread?
OP did you forget your thread already located here?

Just got my new N6, was setting it up, got the system update to 5.1 which I downloaded. Until here, everything seemed fine, however, after installing, I got an error message and since then, all it's doing is "Android is starting..."
Where did I go wrong? Called Moto CS which was a joke! I'll call Expansys from where I got the phone. But there has to be an easier solution.
Anyone? Thanks in advance.
If its the first boot after updating, it might take some time. Else try to factory reset from the recovery.
Turn OFF Nexus > Press and hold Vol Up button + Power button. Use Vol Down button to select Recovery and Power button to choose it. When the Android with Red triangle appears, press and hold Power button and tap on Vol Up. Now choose Factory reset option.
Thank you, but could not turn it off. Trying to power + vol up didn't do anything, however, power + vol down gave the fastboot mode from where I chose recovery, but it said no command was found
I think that means you have no custom recovery. Taken from another site:
"Press and hold the Power key and the Volume up key for around three seconds and then let go of the Volume up key, but keep pressing Power.
You should see the Android system recovery options pop up at the top of the screen. Use the Volume keys to highlight the options and the Power key to select the one you want."
Try this from the recovery screen. I think there is a power off option or maybe a factory reset option.
I'll give it a try and post am update, thank you.
Yeah simply pressing and holding power down then Pressing volume up once while holding power will give you the option to factory data reset. During startup it'll take some time for the first boot, some report 10 mins, be patient.

Holding power and vol up doesn't do anything for me! Why is it doing that?!
It's power and vol down. it boots you into the bootloader and there you can choose functions with vol up and down, and select it with power.
I did the factory reset, but it's still stuck in that same cycle. Called Motorola who advised to ask the merchant for a replacement. I called Expansys (from where I bought it), and was informed that I have to send it in first, then they will determine what the fault is and then I'll get the replacement, seriously?!
I called my AMEX and asked them to handle it.
Hi there i have a HTC One Mini 2 and i have forgotten the swipe password (as in the pattern).
So i turn phone off and hold power and vol down continuously and all it does is boot up (really fast).
I tried power and vol up for download mode and that doesnt work either.
So downloaded ADB, running that through command prompt (admin) and it says that my device is unauthorised.
So.....i am assuming that the usb debugging is disabled on the device. As far as i know its not been rooted.
The volume up and down work fine so its not them that dont work.
So my question is, is there any way to completely wipe the device? If so can it be rooted and it work that way?
For the record, when i connect the phone to Laptop it shows up, i have downloaded the google usb drivers, also the latest htc drivers. I turned off Anti virus and Firewall too.
Thanks in advance.
Try this: When android is up and running, press and hold VOL UP + POWER untill you see message about phone rebooting in xx seconds. Just as the screen goes black, let go of both buttons and immediately hold POWER + VOL DOWN. It should reboot into Bootloader without any delay or vibration.

LIFE SAVER. Worked perfect thanks
Glad I helped!
On my S7E, it was holding down the volume up, home key and then power key, and it would boot into recovery (power off first). But I can't figure out how to do that on my Note 8. I've done some searching, but no joy so far.
Anyone figure it out yet?
VOL up Bixby and power.
Its power button, Bixby button, and volume up(or maybe volume down, can't remember which).

Be prepared to wait at least 30 sec pressing volume down and power to get out. I thought my phone got stuck in download mode, don't think ever had to wait that long for phone to reboot.

Thanks much!
It didn't work at first, since I'd used Bixby Button Remapper. I had to fully uninstall it to get it into recovery. But I found that using bxActions will still let me remap the bixby button, and be able to get into recovery.
Life is good!

Hard rebooting is 10 seconds of holding Volume Down and Power buttons together. If it took 30 seconds you must have been on crack.
I'm just joking about the crack. :highfive:
Whenever the device boots it gives me a security warning and press power button to continue message. Because of it I cannot reboot into recovery because even when I hold vol up and power the screen comes up and i need to let go of vol up for it to register at which point phone boots into system.
Well, the keys need to be pressed before the phone boots up and I think you also need to be connected to a PC, otherwise it won't work. If you're able to boot into system then adb reboot recovery should also do the trick
I usually do use the adb method. But I would like to use a method that is more reliable. My problem is that intermediate screen that appears before the samsing s20 fe screen that warns the bootloader is unlocked and device is unsafe and requires power button to be pressed by itself. It does not register when I have vol up pressed down. And when I release to press power and no matter how quickly i go back to pressing vol up + power the phone starts booting into system.

The phone decides its boot method as soon as the screen turns on, that's why I said you need to have the buttons pressed and connected to the PC way before it even turns on.
Once it turns on and you get to that warning screen you can let go and just press the power button to continue and you don't even have to hold the buttons anymore.
Just do what I tell you and you'll be good
I think holding the buttons after pressing the power button to continue will make it boot to system I think, but I'm not sure lol
Can you get to fastboot? Is this an A/B device?
You can write to the misc partition to tell it to go to recovery.

Well i had the same problem, here is how i solved.
First, you need to have a USB-C cable connected to a PC, if not you can do everything right but it wont go to recovery (and i think not even on Download Mode).
Second, shutdown the phone, don't just reset.
Third, Volume up and Power (keep it holding
Once the security screen come, take off the power button and with the Volume up, quickly take off and press again.
It should go to recovery.
Side note:
hey @ShaDisNX255 , nice to see you here.
