As has been mentioned, it's a little tricky, but on that 'no command' screen, hold power down and then quickly click on / off the vol up. It will go into recovery mode.
An important difference to be aware of using twrp or pbrp on dual slot phones (like the A2), there is NO RECOVERY partition. In other words, when you flash twrp or pbrp, you will be flashing it to the boot partition of one of the slots. That slot will no longer work as it should. Essentially, it's more involved and more complicated then when we use to have a simple recovery partition.
Cheers

From what I've read / gathered, the (very minimal) recovery is a part of the boot image. As your list shows, there is no partition called recovery any longer.
That's why as I was saying (and this is only from what I've read / interpreted), that if you flash twrp to boot partition (specific slot), you'll have twrp, but seamless updates I don't think can then work.

Full factory reset on A2 with no command problem

After downloading CM11 and GApps, I put it in my SD card and went into my recovery cwm9 by using an app. I got in and tried to flash my zips but I couldn't find them. Before I actually tried to flash them I did this first:
Wipe cache ( only required on first installation )
Wipe Dalcik cache ( only required on first installation )
Format /system and optionally /data ( Only necessary if coming from stock or a different ROM )
So when I rebooted I was greeted by getting stuck at the T-mobile boot splash.
I don't know how to get into recovery manually. I can't try to use download mode because I used fastboot. When I get into fastboot I tried using ADB to boot into recovery but device is not found when I'm in fastboot.
Please help me, I literally just got this phone and wanted to flash a custom rom because the LG stock is disgusting.

See FAQ thread for getting into recovery.
[SIZE=+1]Q14: I've flashed a custom recovery but what are the key combos to get there?[/SIZE]
Power off the device
Press and hold Power + Volume down
When the LG logo appears on the screen, quickly release the Power button, still holding the Volume down button, and press and hold Power again until the "Factory Reset" screen appears. Don't worry, this won't reset the device.
Use the volume keys to navigate up and down and Power to select. Scroll down and select "Yes" and repeat once more. It may take up to 10 seconds for the device to boot to recovery.
I've now gotten into the recovery and installed both cyanogenmod and GApps. I've actually had to change the rom found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-l90/development/rom-cyanogenmod-11-lg-l90-lg-d415-t2871371
I've had to change the updater script that contained "w7" to "w7ds" because it said my device wasn't w7 and that it was w7ds.
I've rebooted and now it's just stuck on the cyanogenmod boot screen.
What do?

You've got an older recovery it seems. Download Philz-Touch from my thread, the link you posted, or get TWRP from this thread
Since you're having booting issues, use fastboot to flash the recovery.
Thing is when I'm in fastboot, ADB won't detect my device. I've only gotten it to detect my device once and that's when I was unlocking my bootloader. I don't know how to do it again.
So what do I do? BTW, thanks for helping me.
Edit: I formatted everything again and tried to reinstall the cyanogenmod and GApps. Seems like I just had to wait for the boot screen.

Put device in fastboot mode. ADB can't detect the device when it's in fastboot mode.
Type:
Code:
fastboot devices
You should see a listing similar to "adb devices" output.
Copy recovery image to the same folder fastboot is in. Then type:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
or
Code:
fastboot boot recovery.img
First one will only write the recovery image to the device. The second on will write the image to the device and should then boot the device to the recovery.
EDIT:
Yes, the first boot takes a couple minutes.
Seems I just had to wait for bootscreen.
How do I turn data on and off?

easiest way to explain. Go to Settings and toggle Mobile Networks off/on.

Well, yeah, but a faster way. Like in LG in the notification bar there was a button that would turn data on and off. Does cyanogenmod have anything like that similarly?

[Help] Unlocking bootloader D-405N

I use this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-l90/general/guide-unlock-bootloader-flash-custom-t2839690
But I cant find recovery.img on my phone and I use another recovery. Now I want to go in Recovery Mode but I have only LG logo and in left up corner is:
[490] fastboot_int()
[590] USB init ept @ 0xffdc000
[610] udc_start()
Besides when I restart phone, my phone turn on normally. I think that the fault of a bad file recovery.img. Someone can send me recovery.img on D-405N? Or help me with this problem? Best Regard, Damian.

I recommend using this one TWRP_2.8.4.0_160115_L90.img
Ok It's done, thank you. But i have another problem... I put on my SD card ROM but Team Win Recovery Procjet doesn't see zip file. Why? SD card must be in Ext2?
sd card should be in fat32
make sure you are looking into right directory, in twrp you can choose between internal and external sdcard. if you cant see it on external memory try putting it into internal.
I have another problem... -.- I install ROM but when i turn on phone is LG logo, T-mobile logo and I wait and nothing. Someone can help me?!
which rom did you install?
maybe try to do full wipe and reinstall it

But how can I go into Recovery Mode? System stopped on T-mobile logo..
just pull your battery out
and this how you can get into recovery, its from that thread for unlocking bootloader etc
HOW TO BOOT INTO RECOVERY PRESSING VOLUME AND POWER KEY
You can reboot to recovery via flashify app or following key combination: -
Power of your phone press both Volume Down + Power Button same time, As soon as the LG logo appears release both buttons and immediately press and hold same buttons (Volume Down+Power) again. Now Factory data reset screen will appear saying "Erase all user data & restore default settings?". Use volume down key to select "Yes" and press power button to confirm and now you should be in recovery.

Connect your device to the PC, and ADB is gonna be accessible for 2-4 seconds while the logo is loading (bootanimation), by that time you can flash recovery using fastboot flash recovery recovery.img or simply enter bootloader mode by (i think) holding power up + vol up + vol down buttons. After you have access to the recovery, things are gonna be easier as you can flash ROM's, kernels etc etc. (either via ADB or the recovery itself)
Best regards,
James

how?
How?
same problem here with my P7 L00 , forum should work both ways, would be nice if you could post solution... tks
Most likely the solution from #4.
Also note that you can easily enter bootloader mode by
a.) disconnecting device and powering it off completely
b.) holding down VOL DOWN and connecting device until it boots into bootloader mode
(Similarly, if you hold down VOL UP you can enter recovery.)
In bootloader mode, flash the correct recovery, then you can do the three button update with update.app in the dload folder.

Did you flash the correct stock recovery for the device? Not having the correct recovery might just throw you into the recovery instead of flashing the software. Also, the recovery should be unzipped inside the dload folder (some people forget this).
tks! using TWRP 2.8.7.0 that runs ok on EMUI 3.0 - not original recovery - maybe that s why then I can t get to force download?

When you flash stock recovery, make sure that you're using exact version of the ROM.
Like if you had B609 you should use B609 recovery image and no other!
I made the mistake of using B621 recovery image on a B609, thinking "well it's the same, both are KitKat and both are EMUI 3.0" but NO! I was wrong.
Don't make the same mistake i did.
Let me know if you get stuck

Yes, that is the problem - *only* stock recovery can install stock ROMs and updates! Depending on your base version, you should install the recovery for the BXXX ROM (e.g.: if you are on CWM flashable B609, flash the recovery for B609, etc.).
tks all, I will flash stock recory and post back
follow up: TWRP was the issue, flashed stock recovery and was good to go...running EMUI 3.1 android 5.1 already, tks for all!

twrp works fine but won't start via vol+power

Hi, as the title says, i can't boot to twrp when the phone is powered off. It will ignore what i push and just boot into cyanogenmod.
It used to work at some point, also i can get to twrp if i restart via the twrp app.
I should probably just reflash it?
If I'd somehow lock me from the os while experimenting, i could still run twrp via fastboot in ?
kind regards!

My device is Mi Max 2 today I tried flashing some custom rom which is because yesterday it was normal but it suddenly restarted when I tried booting it up it went to recovery mode btw my recovery mode is TWRP so I tried to just flash a rom again but after its done flashing It keeps booting into TWRP so I was searching online and decided to go back to stock I used the Miflash but after it successfully flashing again This time I can no longer access bootloader my volume up does not work anymore only down and power and im back to stock recovery mode tried accessing MiPcSuite but to still no avail. Please help im seriosly sad like frustrated beacuse I have been trying to find for a fix since yesterday.
Is my volume up broken? is it the reason why I can't access the bootloader. everything went south since yesterday.
I would like to add that the power and the volume buttons where acting funny yeterday when it was doing just fine could it be my volume button but why does it keep booting on TWRP Thinking about it I was getting out of the bath could have damage the volume buttons or something

By using volume down and power you can boot to fastboot and then try flashing the Rom using fastboot method
Second if you find other max 2 , you can restore the partition from other max 2, partition you have to restore are boot , system, system image, cust ( dont restore efs ,firmware partitions
