Hello All,
I am making progress but need a little more help please.
I am trying to install a custom theme.
The folder appears but I cannot drag and drop the theme files into the newly created folder.
Windows gives this error message:
Cannot copy b_home_controls. The device has either stopped responding or is disconnected
I know for sure the USB cable is good as I used it recently with ODIN
I have tried different USB ports and cables and still the same issue.
What am I missing?

Hi,
So a few days ago i wanted to put files in the obb folder to install some apks. However, when i connected it to my computer, I didn't see any obb folder, so I tried creating one. But every time I tried to create the folder the device kept disconnecting. I have tried creating the folder with USB debugging off and on, with a rooted phone as well as a non-rooted phone, from my computer and from file managers on the phone, but nothing works. What is strange is that when i create the obb folder from a file manager on my, it does create it and i can go into it and i can see the obb of many apps there, but as soon as i come out the folder, the folder vanishes. Someone help please?
obb Folder
Hi there, I had the same problem, but I think the new moto X used the folder Data instead of obb, thats the solution I found for me.
Non existant file transfers only to "Download" folder. other folders are fine.
Background: I used TWRP to completely wipe my Nexus 6. Through Windows I made a folder called "Download" and put my ROM and SuperSU in there which transferred fine. Installed ElementalX 3.0.
Now when I transfer files from my PC to the Download directory, I just get a moving bar and the files never actually transfer. I have only waited about 5 minutes then gave up. Once I cancel the transfer, Windows loses connection with the phone and I have to re-plug the USB cable in. The problem only occurs when I try to transfer to the Download directory. I can transfer files from my computer to any other folder of the phone with no problems. I also cannot delete the Download directory using Windows Explorer, and two file manager programs on the phone called File Manager, and ES Explorer. The Download directory also has two files, SuperSU and ElementalX, which cannot be deleted. It's not a major issue, but it's bugging me.
Oh, my Android skill level is novice wannabe so be gentle with the big fancy words. However, after a few short hours of owning the phone I did figure out how to ROOT and install a custom ROM, so I ain't totally stupid - just mostly.
check the file permissions on those files and the folder, ES Explorer can likely do that I don't use ES but I know its well featured. Its the only thing I could think of off the top of my head.

Reboot into recovery. Go to advanced, file manager. Browse to that Downloads folder, hit select, then choose delete.
Should get rid of it for you.
I'm assuming that you made the Downloads folder originally through TWRP while it was connected as an MTP device? If so, sometimes it can do weird things while in recovery. While the MTP driver works in TWRP, it's not extremely mature and is really just there as a convenience for folks that aren't comfortable with the standard command line stuff.

Thanks man. That sorta worked. There was a section in ES where I could change all permissions to RW. I don't know if that effected things but after I did that I renamed the Download folder to Downloads with an 's'. I was able to recreate another Download directory and now I can download stuff from the net as I wasn't able to with the old Download directory. This seemed like a patch but at least things were better. However, I then read Yoinx's post and it worked and complete got rid of the bad folder.

You sir are a bloody genius. Worked like a charm.
I am going to explain this as well as I can. When I wiped everything with TWRP (I didn't mean to. It was just a noob mistake) I was no longer able to see my phone's files on my computer. If I am not mistaken, it did show the phone hooked up, but no files, or even "internal storage" were showing - I could be wrong. I needed to copy SuperSU and the ElementalX ROM from my computer to my phone but I was screwed. I fiddled about in TWRP, and I believe it was under "Mount" where I was able to check/tick all the folders that were unchecked. I am assuming since they were unchecked, Windows could not see the files on my phone. After checking/ticking the folders, I hooked the phone up to the PC and the N6 showed up. I made the Download directory in Windows and copied the ROM and SuperSU that way.
Also, I don't even know what an MTP device is. Maybe I did what you said as I was sort of clicking here and there to see if this or that would work. I was in semi panic mode so I don't remember every single thing I did. Anyways brother thank you so much for your help. Here's some nice delicious Hawaiian pineapple for ya. E lauhoe mai na wa’a i ke ka i ka hoe i ka hoe i ke ka pae aku i ka ‘aina

In pushing the notif .ogg files to the gear 2 neo, ive apparently put duplicates on it (one with an upper case first letter and another with a lower case first letter) which apparently has confused the gear as when i select either, neither work. All the others i put on it seem to have worked just fine, but the one duplicated file is borked. Ive done the Odin tar.md5 flash file to try to get it back to out-of-the-box, but it doesnt fully restore it. I am trying to remove the borked files, but i dont know the sdb commands to do so. Any help would be appreciated!!
nvm, its the same as adb commands *facepalm*
sdb shell rm -r /opt/share/settings/Alerts/<filename>.ogg
So the SDB commands to remove all the not working .ogg files worked, but when I put one specific file back on and select it for the notif tone, it says (null) as the selected notif tone. Other custom tones work fine and the file in question works on my computer also the file transfer process shows successful in the SDB terminal. Still at a loss about this one specific .ogg file I've even renamed the file to no avail
ok, so i fully realize that im talking to myself here, but im posting this stuff so if anyone else was wondering the same thing, they might get the answers they seek here. I have found that the way to see the files in a certain folder in the watch's OS is with another modified ADB command. The command is "adb shell ls /path/to/directory/with/notification/files" but with the method of connecting to the watch being SDB, it'd actually be "sdb shell ls /path/to/directory/with/notification/files" but of course replacing the "/path/to/directory/with/notification/files" with the actual directory path
well your thread helped me figure out how to delete mp3 files off my Gear S Alerts folder but I can't figure out how to delete a file with 2 words in it. I never put a dash so I can't figure out how to delete "AOL IM.mp3"...keeps seeing as two files and wont delete.
Any ideas?
EDIT: Of course I finally figured out after posting this. Just needed to put in ' xxxx ' quote.
I’ve installed a retrofit smartbox in my Mercedes C Class,
I am told it’s Android, I want to change the car icon to a Mercedes icon. The seller is not very helpful with this idea, but I have an update file for the box which seems to be an Android Rom of some kind. I was thinking of trying to unpack the Rom and if the icon is there trying to change it to the Mercedes one and repack the Rom. Anybody with more knowledge than me know how to go about this ? The other option was trying to mount the box as a drive on a pc or Mac and trying to locate the icon through that way. However the box has a USB socket and that would mean using USB male to male cable. Would this cause an issue with the 5 volts going from box to laptop and vice versa ?
Can anyone help with this lot ?
Thanks.
Further to my last the update file is .img file extension which I have unpacked with imgunpacker successfully. I am left with a series of .fex files, the main file being 8mb (the whole file is approx 9mb). This fex file is named melis100.fex
The fex files extracted are in a folder named Beetles. There are a couple more folders one is efex folder. The other is named iso. There is a img.cfg file and a text file with basepath as the title.
Not sure what to do with these files now !!
I tried to copy paste files from PC to Phone and it doesn't work. (The copying process starts and abruptly closes without showning any errors).
Tried copying a file from Phone to PC and that works.
Tried different PC and tried file transfer from TWRP still the same result.
What can I do to solve this?
Have you tried using adb push?
You can also try to transfer the files with something like syncthing.
