how to update
jjust want to tell u how i updated so that u guys get where im at with 0 issues
- flash the nae stock tar go back to stock
- then flash the update zip here :

to ng2 ONLY from stock recovery
- then root the phone
- then open up super user app and install binaries
- then flash new twrp in odin heres link

Quick question.. why can't we move widgets between home screens or replace the dock icons?

I accually cant rearrange any icon on my homescreen at all unless i move it from the app drawer to a homescreen.
Also when long pressing an icon on the homescreen i keep getting a really annoying message about resizing widgets everytime.
Edit: i figured it all out except being able to change the dock icons..

Fix for all Roms having this problem
-Go to SuperSU app
-Settings menu
-Enable trust system User
-and enable grant permission during boot
-Then put the phone on flight mode and wait for it to cool down.
If this doesn't work
-Try setting default access to grant

Same here! At B394 to B397 failed!

Hey there,
You need to follow the tutorial for rooting . There need to use some commands in terminal . After that the root works.
I use the 397 and rootchecker and magisk say: root access !

I wait for a loong time to be repaired swapped audio channels( left-right) for video recording in camera software...

I recomend of install this update, the p8 is becomed very very fast

android system is drain battery maybe %100 battery use at 1000 mah draining why?

1. Create a folder DLOAD in the external SD card.
2. Unzip the file update.zip into the DLOAD folder.
3. Disconnect your phone from your PC, if still attached.
4. In the dialer app type the following: *#*#2846579#*#*
5. Select Software Upgrade [option 4], then Update SD Card.
The phone will reboot and install the update.

I find it completely unreasonable to take the time to backport such an unnecessary feature (camera watermark) to the current camera v1.4.
Don't they really have anything more important to tackle?!
People are asking for several things to fix or improve since beta 1. But suddenly the OP5 is released with this useless feature and a vocal minority asks for watermarks in their forums on a daily basis...
I guess they can say they listen to the community by adding this nonsense In my opinion this is nothing but free promotion for OnePlus on social media or a way to brag about your own device.
I can't understand who would want to use this to ruin his photos?!
Why not update the camera to v2.0 directly then?!
Did anybody flash this and can say which camera version is implemented?

I am liking this new update. Brightness issues (becoming dark always) has solved in this version. Feels more smooth and display a way better.

Camera version is 1.5. I am not sure about extracting APK. I will give a try to it once I am at home.

You just have to install google play apk no need for gapps. And yes after flashing this you will back to stock recovery for that flash twrp recovery right after flashing rom.

I followed every step and I got everything to work exactly how I wanted thanks guys

I was on Oos v.4.1.7 stable. I use twrp recovery blu spark 3.1.1.v.41 .
I dirty flash Hydrogen ob20. I reflash Magisk v.13.3 & recovery.
Everything works fine & fast. Camera it's v.1.5. I uninstall chinese apps with Root Essentials.

Number 4 didn't pop up but this post isn't a release note... I mentioned only the pros and cons of this update

The update is live for non nfc variants too. What is the logic behind this?

I think the gcam is not working after update.

I'm using Asus Max Pro M1 for Malaysia, why am I receiving Yandex, Yandex Browser and Atok after installing the latest update?

Nope it seems to be working. Kindly check the G cam apk you installed. If the problem still persists refer to this thread and repeat the process.

Indian version of this phone doesn't have NFC currently. Since some versions of this phone do have NFC, they have pushed the update wholesome.

Added Bluetooth avrcp profiles, ldap playback now possible. You can switch in developer settings or leave it on auto for best results). And yes, the Bluetooth low volume output is rectified.
