how do I overclock the XDA IIi , I heard there is software Pocket Hack Master 2005. Is it safe to overclock the XDA IIi?
If you try it the turbo mode in the speed settings in the control panel will be unavailable. It'll be the same as standard mode. Also the max clockspeed of the gfx chip/part wil be aft 54 Mhz instead of 108 Mhz which was set by the turbo mode. The latest version does work stable but that's about it. No real speed advantage to be gained because of the above. Perhaps some battery saving but since most of the power goes to the display I don't really see the use of getting a few extra hours of standby time from this while games slow down because of CPU usage polling. For the Alpine IMHO this is just something that is overhyped and not worth the hassle it brings.
I am using xcpuscalar_v2.88 to overclock my i-mate PDA2,the max speed i was able to use is 624 MH and it is very stable and all games and apps are running ok.
You may need to shut it off b4 you use the camera.
Otherwise it is very stable and fast, also saves power as it scales down the cpu to whatever speed your want.
xcpuscalar_v2.88
Thank you
me too, working fine with 624Mhz......unlike previous v2.87 crash with my XDA IIi !

I think this is an excellent point.
I use my XDAIIi extensively for business use and was close to junking it - due to all the crashes and freezes I was suffering.
Then... I turned OFF Turbo Mode. I still use it extensively... only it doesn't crash anymore! The only problem I'm getting from time to time is needing to restart the phone via Flight Mode to be able to get a GPRS connection after using ActiveSync.
I own a licence for XCPUScalar, but haven't bothered to reinstall it or try the new version yet. I can't honestly say I've noticed any difference between Standard and Turbo Modes.
Go figure!
last stable frequency is 617 mhz .
Run mode is 247 x 2.5
Bus is 247
Lcd is 61
Memory is 123
Anyone more ?
Yeah...guess I shouldn't listen to things I read. Now my pocket PC has hard resetted.
I use v3.03 and my IIi works well upto 624Mhz. No crashes etc.... However as has been said already, the camera does not work properly with it, but if you downclock the CPU to 108Mhz then it's fine. I rarely use the camera anyway (i have a proper camera instead!!) so it's never a problem.
XCPU scaler 3.03 make my IIi hang, nothing more than that.
It shouldn't be hanging. It's more stable than previous versions i've used. Works great for me. I'd try uninstalling it, then removing any leftover files manually, then reinstall.
Hey guys,
I just wondered if you guys have the same problem that you lose 1% battery every 2 minutes when you´re having your display on. I know it´s quite known that big screens suck the battery like a vampire but that´s just odd, because I don´t even have to do anything with the phone just staring at the activated display.
I´ve had these troubles from the beginning with FW 10G then updatet to 10H and did factory reset- nothing changed. I tried different brightness levels without any differences in battery consumption, which is totally uncommon. And the freaky thing is there is no difference whether I have airplanemod on, wifi turned off and so on. It is always the same... Although when the display is off there is as good as no consumption but really 1% battery per 2 minutes that´s just sick. I can´t believe it.
Now i wondered if this is normal or if I should turn it to the customers service to check it.
Please tell me if you explored the same things with your LG 4X HD
Well i found it odd too but if you would root the phone and install something like setcpu you would actually see
Min CPU Freq --------------- 1.5 GHz
Max CPU Freq -------------- 1.5 Ghz
Er yeah .... after saying that i think you know why its using the battery so fast. I rooted my brothers phone and changed the clockspeeds , but no matter how low i set the min freq on "no frills cpu control" it always shows on the toast message 750 Mhz or somewhere around that.

Well thank you... I´ve rooted it and thought it had something to do with apps running in the background but it didn´t help at all so I thought this can´t be, mine must be wrong somehow.
Especially because i haven´t heard anything in reviews or forums about this rapid battery drain. This is something I´m wondering most, how can a phone taking so much battery be rated so high It sucked 3% watching a 3 minute video on youtube...
I won´t think I´m going to be happy with this phone and the best is when I contacted customers service later today they told me to send it in because its not normal, but now that you said the cpu is set this high no matter what, I can just suggest they don´t know anything about their phones...
Bet the only reward I get sending it in is "all is fine our phone likes to suck your battery, so what? Just keep the display off"
Screen off "deep sleep" battery drain is quite bad too ..

For me. The battery says its fully charged after 1hr. But it actually takes 3-4hrs befire it reaches the absolute full capacity.
Battery lasts twice as long then...

Hello,
A friend of mine is using the phone for facebook/whatsapp only and he really hates the heat from the phone
I guess those apps don't need the CPU to be at max freq so my question is:
Which Governor / Cpuquiet Governor to provide the least heat and an a reasonable performance for those apps?
Interactive or ondemand governor and lowering max frequency to 860 MHz should extend battery life and reduce heating while keeping the phone running smooth in those apps. For gaming turn back to original frequency.
Alternatively, min frequency to 860 MHz and powersave governor, but the first option is better, I think.
Thanks for your reply I set the max CPU to 910 but I don't know what to use out of the three governors:"abssplug , interactive , ondemand"
I set the max CPU to 910 but I don't know what to use from those three governors: "abyssplug, interactive, ondemand"
I don't know the first. Interactive and ondemand are working similarly - they reduce frequency when max isn't needed, to extend battery. I recommend you to use one of them.
Hi Community
I have installed last stable (3.1 from 3.07.2014) version of LiquidSmooth and Mourty's kernel 3.1.10. I would be extremely happy, because I have never seen this phone working so smooth and fast, however I have two major problems:
- can't change preferred network option, there is only 3G to choose, I actually need 2G. May that be operator's (O2 in UK) fault?
- second problem is even bigger. It takes 9 hours to discharge 100% battery to 0 when I'm not using the phone at all (0 calls, 0 texts, 0 wifi, no gps... just laying on the table with everything switched off). On the CM or stock ROM I had completely normal battery life.
My settings:
CPU speed: 51000 - 1150000
Governor abyssplug
Cpuquiet Governor balanced
Napięcie na procesorze zmniejszone o 50mV
Read ahead size 4096
I/O Scheulder: row
TCP Congestion control: westwood
Please I really need your help as at the moment phone disconnected from the charger becomes useless...
Ondemand- when in idle the phone is on the lowest frequency. When in use, it is at the max frequency.
Interactive- is a scaling governor that scales the CPU frequency based on the load. Its possible that this will allow the CPU to stay at lower frequency with screen on thereby saving a little battery.
Abyssplug- is a hotplugging governor that scales the CPU frequency AND number of cores active based on the load.
I suggest using abyssplug with the "balanced" CPU_Quiet governor (CPU_Quiet determines how many cores are active at any given time) to save battery.
To reduce heat, you can underclock your CPU to 1.3ghz and undervolt your CPU based on your CPU variant. Also I've noticed that replacing the crappy lg battery also reduced heat since the lg battery is covered in plastic and does not dissipate heat very well
Also what kernel are you on?
don't forget to hit thanks!

Thanks for answers mates. Right now battery draining when phone should be in deep sleep is 10% per hour. over 70% of that is used by kernel, however I have reinstalled kernel yesterday and it didn't help at all. The strange thing is that when the phone is switch to plane mode it doesn't drain energy at all, 1% per few hours. I would understand that if the draining would be described as searching for GSM singal, but it's not, that's another 28% of battery usage. So there is definitely something wrong with gsm signal.

I have also that phone and i am not happy. Why is very hot. And also the battery is crap. Is logic for battery do not take long time, because the heat it means energy . Its caloric energy you lose. I want to try to lower the frecvency of cpu to 1000 . But ... Its like i have an MERCEDES car and the engine is not good( low power and higher consumption on 100 km). I am not recomand that phone. The chinesse phone for ex with mtk cpu is more good. It is a fix for this? I see here in the forum a guy who put siliconic vasseline on cpu. Maybe a cooler , like on the pc . Shame of you lg. My friend have the same phone and like mine have the same problem with heat and also the left corner of display is unglue i think because of heat. If you put the phone in light and look not straight , in upper corner its like on samsung s3 phones for ex , when the special gel between display and touch is damage. You have a problem like this with the display?

That's what I felt about it before I undervolted CPU by -135 mV and LP cores by -75 mV, underclocked to 1300 mhz.
The technology this chipset uses is the problem here.LG did a fine job with keeping phone cool in stock kernel, though stock performance is not compareable with custom ROM/kernels as customized ones have better performance.1300 mhz is fine though, unless you play heavy games such as real racing 3 with many bots around, you won't feel the difference between 1300 mhz and 1500 mhz.
re
I see what is the problem with my phone with temperature. First i want to tell you about someone on forum who open the phone and see how the producer (LG) make the cooling. On the motherboard in the cpu zone it is a metalic sponge who make the transfer of the temperature with the metalic plate inside the phone. It is the same plate you see on the back when you take the battery. So, in his case and mine the problem is this sponge dont make very good connections with the metallic plate. WHy? Because ( in my case) , the lcd in the top is not glue very good, the tape double adesive is open. I think in time because of heating , the tape is opened. What do you must to do? If you can not make , put someone who repair the phone .So, you must to put some termal paste like pc cpu , or put a small aluminium plate, between cpu and the big plate inside the phone. That it. Ony if you have problem with the temperature like me. For ex . yesterday , without termal paste my cputemp it was max 60 degrese. Now , after modification i have i game and cpu stress app max 39 degrese. I am very happy now, but i must to rezolve also the problem with the bettery drainage. Maibe i must to change the battery. If you want to speak and put answers you found me on facebook cgamberea , or [email protected]. Sorry for my english, i am from Romania.

The last days my girlfriend is complaining about battery drain in her i8190. I installed No-Frills CPU and it seems that the min CPU frequency is stuck at 1GHZ. Applying the 200MHz setting does nothing, when i restart the app i see that the min freq is 1ghz again. The phone is with stock rooted firmware (XXAMJ3).
Any ideas about this really annoying problem?

Did you or your girlfriend change the CPU governor to performance? No-frills CPU control can change the CPU governor. Try it out
Or
Set the phone in airplane mode and reboot the phone if it still didn't work then please attach/send some screenshots from the battery statistics in settings > battery in this thread.
P.S : Download "CPU spy" from play store and check if only 1GHz is in use.
She hasn't change the cpu governor (was with ondemand). The trick with airplane mode didn't work either!
These are two screens from no frills and cpuz where you can see the problem. I checked yesterday the real battery performance, it didn't seem that bad. Was 100% to 35% in about 9 hours with 2 hours screen on time. But isn't that strange, the min freq bug?

Hello guys:
I've a strange behaviour of cpu. After a while, the Little CPU stuck at 1401 mhz like min frequency. It's not the same problem that stucks in max freq.
I don't know why it is. I have a theory .. when I connect the USB Type C adaptor to headphones or the USB cable to charge, after a while the cpu rises the low freq from 633 mhz to 1401 mhz and stucks here like the min freq.
Somebody with a similar issue or solution?
Thanks a lot!
is your phone FP sensor is FPC ?
they also have CPU stuck bug but only 4 Little CPU stuck.
it occasionally happen when use FP to wakeup from deepsleep or wakeup while Quick charging.
Just checked my little cores and they were stuck at 1401. Restarted the phone and they are back to 633 MHz, and now no matter what I try (unlocking several times with FP, from deep sleep and what not) I can't get them stuck at 1401 again. Could it be something else?
I got the FPC sensor, running September patch.

I've charged and used the headphone adapter multiple times since the last reboot and my little cores still go all the way down to 633MHz.
I have only noticed this bug once and have not been able to reproduce it, it's very rare and inconsistent for me
I still have 1401Mhz stuck problem. Did anyone solve it?
do you resolve it after restart?
I do. something is triggering it at my device but I'm unable to understand what. It's not often I get it.
I don't use fingertip sensor.

I switched off smart lock and fingerprint, it has been 9 hours since last restart and no problem. O do agree with you, it's still unknown CPU freeze. I'll try to switch on smart lock, lets see what happens)
I got it twice in the past 2 days. Weird. I hadn't gotten it in weeks. I did enter battery saver mode yesterday, maybe that messed things up with the cpu. And I also installed rootless launcher which is what I think triggered it the first time

I'm facing this issue too. Updated to Pie today as well.
But is this software or hardware issue?
Same on Redmi 6
I have the same problem on a Redmi 6 at around 900 MHz according to GSam. It seems to appear after I have disconnected the charger. Not everytime.
Restarting the device does not reset the frequency. Stopping it and starting again after a minute or two does. Weird and annoying !
