Guys plz share all benefits of 64bit os over 32 bit os. We can have 64 bit pie update I would request all of you to kindly provide them with all techinacal benefits here https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Moto-G...ncompatiblity-for-some-apps/m-p/4287821#M6880

I'm sorry, but the only way we can expect 64 bit Android on our phones is through custom ROMS. Motorola would have to rework too much of the OS for the G6 to be 64 bits and would probably take a full wipe to do so, risking losing of data and stupid users suing them for it.
I hope we can get official LineageOs with 64 bit one day, that would be ideal.

Then can release 64 bit pie OTA update we just have to agree them on the same
You have already created a thread for this topic here:

For a long waiting, Android 8 is finally here.
And ZR has working for 4 years
I wonder if our phone will have an Oreo update?
It would be cool, and a chance to revive our phone.
Thanks.
I read somewhere that it will only be available for devices with 64bit processors, so i highly doubt it

The above is the thread of the 64 Bit Rom developed by the awesome developer VACHE.
It's my request to the Moto G5s Plus Developers to bring a 64 Bit Rom here.
THIS MAY BE GROUNDBREAKING...
The G5S Plus is a relatively new phone. Give it a few months and once it's gained traction I'm sure we'll get a 64 bit port :good:
You guys are also running 32-bit stock OS just like G5+?
Hello and welcome to first post of MM port
As I have got a lot of free time. So I'm starting to working on my first biggest project ever. MM port for little lovely Y6.
Model that I have got (scl-u31) has just 1 Gb of RAM
So you guys can do these favors for me if you want to show some support. 1-hit thanks button
2-I need statistics from different y series variants. Use a Task manager and take screenshot from your ram usage. And send to my email or my telegram or in our telegram group.even if you are using a custom rom I can use that too

So the device that we are going to choose should be a device with a light weight ROM. I need statistics from different y series variants. Use a Task manager and take screenshot from your ram usage. And send to my email or my telegram.(preferred new variants like y6 2017)even if you are using a custom rom I can use that too

You should join our telegram group , you'll find a lot of help there.
So a marshmellow rom could be possible?
I think y6 is not good for Android 7 too heavy for that specs, a version with Android 6 on board could be really welcome for the best experience

What is your telegram group? I will be glad to join.If you mean that one in guides section it says link is invalid. I can create a group if there isn't one.
It would be possible. But Its going to need heavy debloating to minimize ram usage. As you can see there is no port of other devices. Roms out there are based on lineage. This is no fault of dear developers. You should consider the fact that as you know y6 is weak for handling higher androids and manufacturer roms like EMUI and MIUI. But we can make it possible by minimizing resource usage

Ies it is only my opinion
All lineage attempt on board of y6 with 1 GB ram and that cpu, can't give a smooth experience than Android stock 5 or 6 that no need so much ram as Nougat or Oreo .
Mm is however a step ahead from lollipop.
Every working rom based on Android 6 for me, are appreciated.

Lineage 15 is much smoother than stock ROM or cm 13
Yeah nougat and oreo need more ram but are working good
Can you build cm 13 stable Rom for Huawei y6 ?

Cm 13 is already build for y6, just some bugs need to be fixed
He said he is porting, not building.

Its not only about resource usage, you are petty wrong.
I seen devices with hardware less powerful than y6 running nougat wihout a lot of optimisations, you first need to get the ROM working. And after that think about any optimisations.
hi there! are u still working on this or what ? :/

Is there a way to leave the firmware as it is and only increase it to 64bit without changing much?
no, thats not how that works at all.

The only possibility of getting to 64-bit is if motorola releases 64-bit source code after launch, and then someone creates a custom rom using it. This actually happened with the original Moto Z Play, so there is a chance. But we're not there yet.

Likely only if a device originally shipped with the 64 bit OS (e.g. G6 Plus). If you've got the G6 with a 32 bit OS, the update would likely be 32 bit, with you requiring custom development for a 64 bit custom ROM. From what I understand, moving from 32 bit to 64 bit may need a device wipe, which a lot of users (especially non-XDA or non enthusiast users) may not understand or happy with if that was mandatory for a system update.
What's the point in having 64bit on this device?

As far as I know, mainly the reason for wanting 64 bit on the G6 would be to use certain apps that are only 64 bit (e.g. Google Camera and in this case, fortnite). The G6 has 4 GB of RAM so the memory addressing advantage wouldn't be in use (unlike the G6 plus which can include up to 6 GB apparently), though could be argued you may get better performance from 64 bit. However, drivers may have to be re written or modified from the 32 bit system to work on the 64 bit, even if you could flash the 64 bit custom ROM, there may be bugs.
As a non-developer, it would be my assumption that the bootloader and vendor files would have to know how to interact with 64bit parameters. Despite our hardware supporting 64bit, the underlying software must support it as well. Like others have said, Motorola would have to release the source or build it for us.
I dont know a lot about this, but i think the Moto G5 Plus community got it.
They did the firmware 64 bit despite the fact that Motorola didnt do anything

@dejello is working on 64bit support. last i heard he had a 64bit kernel working in TWRP with a working display.
Im running Los17+ on an original N6 shamu image. I just ran a Treble test on it and it says I could run 64bit OS or Recovery because the hardware will support it? Any thoughts? I'm willing to try out different ideas or combination of software to test it if a developer is willing to guide me a bit if a crash. I'm old Windows Novell geek ...some what trainable... LOL. Thanks
Shamu is 32 Bit.
No chance to go full treble.
Treble was dead; flashship dont support treble; hope from heartly developer for all device
