Calling and using data at the same time (Norway) - Xiaomi Mi A2 / 6X Questions & Answers

Hello!
I recently bought the xiaomi but I have found out that I can not call and use 4G/3G at the same time which is extremely annoying!
Is there any way at all to fix this?
Thank you very much!

So there is no possibility for voLTE or similar on them is what you're saying?

I can use H (3G) while in calls but no LTE while in calls(voLTE).
But I may have to change my sim card to suport voLTE, since its an old AF sim card. I assume its my sim that is the issue since a friend of mine that has an iphone X (supports voLTE) had to ask for a new sim card to get it working.

Ask your carrier for a new sim card.
You sure your carrier supports it? (Don't know if it can be a carrier side thing)

NO
Your provider should support it, it has nothing to do with sim-card.
Just put it in and the phone will ask you to set GPRS settings for your provider.

Actually not really true. In Singapore, mobile users were asked to upgrade their G SIMs to 3G SIMs when 3G was introduced widely here.
I guess it would depend on your service provider and how old your SIM is.

HTC ONE Developer Edition Not Connecting to 2G network In India

I tried with MTNL sim and it worked and after that my first SIM which was not connecting to 2G also worked and after couple of hours situation came back and now the unit is only working with 3G network. Is there anyone else facing the same problem ??:crying:
Does anyone have any solution for this ??

Mahesh
EDIT : After Doing S-OFF , now my handset it connecting to both the networks i.e. 2G and 3G

because In india there are some places where we do not have 3G connectivity..
It might just be wonky signal in your area for 2G.
Also if you are using hand cut old sim, just get it changed to proper micro sim from MTNL. I had similar issues with SGS4 and MTNL Mumbai sim until I changed the sim card itself. Hard to explain but it solved my issue. It was very old sim which I cut using sim cutter.
Not facing any issue with 2G signal at all. There are areas in certain areas where I have to go (mainly basement) where there is no 3G and 2G works just fine on EDGE.

So you mean to say there is no problem with the handset, cos it worked with MTNL. ??
But it's not working with MTNL and Airtel.....and yes Airtel SIM is very old i mean it's around 3 years old sim.
Thanks !!
The sim card issues in cases of cut sim cards is well documented to be honest. No matter how well we cut it, sometimes they just dont work right on these newer phones. Over last 1 year I had to get new micro sim for most of my and my family member's numbers as one fine day the cut sim will simply not catch network and then realised the common problem with them all. All of them were cut either using micro sim template by hand or using sim cutters. After getting proper micro sim, the problem went away. This is not specific to One but happens with lot of new phones that require micro sim including Nexus 4, SGS4 and Nexus 7 3G tablets.

I have this problem from time to time, after hours of good connection the speed goes down to edge or something. I just turn the non (3G data) used sim off and on again and it's ok for another couple of hours.
What a pity that the dual SIM has become a "trend" with the mid and low range!
Unfortunately, the "decent" phones are all in the higher price range category... SMH

[Q] I never connect to LTE for my C6603, anyone has any idea?

I previously used T-Mobile, and I found out that my C6603 was not compatible to TMOBILE's frequency for 3G and 4G network. And later I switched to AT&T, now I can get a H+ speed, but never LTE, I checked my APN setting, it's correct, and my mobile network preference is LTE (preferred). Anyone has similar question before and found a solution? Currently I updated to 5.0.2 lollipop, still no LTE.
Please let me know if you need more information of my phone like build number, kernel version etc.
Thanks!
Same here, never had 4G, I have C6603 , any ideas?
You need to have SIM card that support LTE, sometimes called USIM.
I had that problem with Orange after I got my first LTE phone(Samsung) and its turn out that I need new sim card.
Here in Europe(Spain, Poland, German) changing your current SIM card to new is free, you just need to go to operator sign one document and wait for new card.
I waited 5 days for it, but at least It was nanoSIM with adapter to micro and mini

I think my sim card support LTE, because I got it in September last year, and I think LTE is quite popular at that time, and ATT will give customers SIM card that support LTE without special request

According to the FCC certification, the Pixel 5 has all 4 of T-Mobiles 5g bands. I read something recently where Tmobile is adding more spectrum and current 5g phones won't work with that spectrum

I just IM'd a sales person at T-Mobile. The assured me that the Pixel 5 will be supported.
Here is what Google posted on its website. Some of it seems confusing when it comes to which kind of 5G(sub-6 or mmWave) each carrier supports.

Google Fi uses (or used to use) TMobile infrastructure, so I assume it will be just fine. Ask your carrier if you really need to know.

My guess is they are waiting for compatibility tests to enable it. Worst case is it will require a software update that will come soon after launch. In any event it need not be a worry.

I don't know what an R15 SIM card. I just know the old big SIMs and the newer NanoSIMs.
I can see that, but I only have one phone. lol So for me eSIM is great!
I didn't think so. Didn't have to go to the T-Mobile Store or anything. Just called customer service and they set it up on their end. Last step was the rep texted me a link to a special QR code that I use the Pixel 5 to scan, then wallah, all set up!
I really won't miss physical SIM cards at all. But if I ever got 2 phones, then maybe I'd switch back.

I think the esims are very compelling. I do switch phones from time to time.
An R15 physical Sim card from tmobile allows users to access their Stand Alone 5G network. The old Sim cards will only allow access to their non stand alone 5G network.
Stand Alone is supposed to be far more superior to non stand alone. After two hours I don't notice the difference. LoL

All I know right now is according to Google, MMwave support is "coming".
The phone itself supports all 4 of T-Mobiles current 5G bands.
I also know you need a R15 Sim card to access the SA 5G network.
Other than that, does our software support SA 5G. I really don't know. But at least I have the right Sim card.
