Buying my 2nd Mi Mix

So, I gotta buy my second Mi Mix. I was thinking of buying it off of Banggood, has anyone bought from them? I want my Mi Mix to come sealed and not have any vendor rom on it or at least not have any Vendor rom on it. Any ideas?

I bought mine from Gearbest and came with unlocked bootloader and global stable rom

Me too. Is coming with global stable ROM, and you can update that any time they have new global stable with the updated application. Very good price too, I paid $519.00 for mine.

im also going to cheer for gearbest. best price fairly reputable and came unlocked with global rom and everything in the original box.

The Mi Mix that you bought from Gearbest, was it preopened and inspected, and it was Global/stable rom not vendor rom?

The box came sealed and the phone had the global stable rom, but I'm not sure if the seals were not from Gearbest.

Yes was pre opened and inspected, came with unlocked bootloader, and stable global ROM. As soon as I connected to my network the phone updated to the last stable global ROM.
So far very pleased with the Mi Mix.

Ive tried through their method of buying it and through paypal and everytime it denies my payment :'(

I bought mine brand new from ebay for 560 sealed with MIUI 8 ROM stock with google play already installed and bootloader was already unlocked. I then rooted and flashed viperROM and I'm lovin it!

Hi XDA,
I want to ask about thread forum for Mi 8 EE (Explorer Edition - codename: ursa) why not available in XDA? I just see only Mi 8 (codename: dipper) and Mi 8 SE (codename: sirius) thread forum...
I hope mod/admin will make new forum thread for Mi 8 EE (codename: ursa) user. Thank you. I'm sorry if this wrong place for posting.

It would also be great if ROMs were multi Mi8 Flashable. The hardware in my Mi 8 Pro (codename: equuleus) is the same as the ursa, just without the 3d Face unlock - so ursa ROMs work great on the equuleus - however dipper ROMS are lacking the drivers for camera, in-screen fingerprint sensor, speakers which are visibly different on the ursa and equuleus.
By cooking all of the required elements and having an aroms installer or some clever scripting, it would be possible to have one ROM flashable on multiple Mi 8 devices.
Maybe that is th reason that there is only one thread (as well as the rareity of the Mi 8 EE (at the moment) not to mention the Mi 8 Pro (equuleus) which was released in China a few days ago.

Mi8 Pro have the same in display fingerprint sensor as Explorer Edition ? Xiaomi said that Mi8Pro unlock much faster than EE

That's a good question. All I can say is that my fingerprint sensor did not work when I flashed mi8 ROMS but it does work when I flashed EE ROMS. My understanding is that the only difference is the 3D face unlock missing.

Nice, do you have Mi 8 Pro (codename: equuleus)? I think Mi 8 too much variant model, i don't know why xiaomi do that.
I'm have waiting time unlocking the bootloader 720 hours, it's weird.. i never get time UBL so long before like that.

I bought my Mi 8 Pro on the day of release in Beijing. The sale started at 10:00 and there were 2 units left when I bought mine at 10:20. When I arrived back home, I started the unlock process and realised that I would have to wait 720 hours as well. SO, I contacted the driver in Beijing who took me to the great wall and to the XIaomi store on my last day there - He was also a Xiaomi fans and only had Mi phones for the past few years. He kindly sent me his Mi ID and password, and all of the SMS verification codes he received, and bingo... I managed to unlock the bootloader of my Mi 8 Pro instantly!
Surprised that someone in China has not clocked on to this to sell this as a service. Try contacting someone from your seller (Aliexpress, small sellers more likely to help out) if they would not mind creating a Mi Account for you to unlock the bootloader - It may save you some waiting. Verified accoiunts in China can unlock instantly.

Chinese MI 8 Model

Hello guys
Just got a quick question for your guys. I want to buy MI 8, and i am getting MI 8 Chinese model with bootloader unlocked and xiaomi.eu rom installed, now i want to ask that is it safe to buy that model? I want to install HavocOS or pixel experience, is these roms support Chinese variant?

It's completely safe to do what you want to do provided you follow the information on the threads here. I also bought a Chinese variant mi 8 and have installed numerous roms.

Mi9 Transparent Edition question

Hi Guys!
I already searched on this forum and couldn't reach a conclusion.
Never had a Xiaomi device berefore. I bought a Mi9 transparent edition from China, It will arrive next week, but I would like to know:
Can I flash global ROM? It has Chinese ROM.
Can I flash Mi9 standard AOSP based ROMs?

Yes you can, since it is Chinese version it already has bootloader unlocked, so it's even easier to install whatever you want

Ok, so can I really flash xiaomi.eu/ROS/Globe without any risk? I am afraid of bricking it, I don't think I have warranty support on my country since it is a chinese version phone and I saw that the it is almost unbrickable.

If you get the global version yes, currently using it now on t-mo and at&t. both are getting lte!
