One UI port for OnePlus 3T - OnePlus 3T Questions & Answers

One UI from Samsung looks amazing
are there any developer who is wiling to port the ROM for our 3T?
Even if no one ports what about extracting features from OneUI into other custom roms

Its too hard and difficult as both have different bases. Lets check if anyone can do it.

Dude they don't try porting even oxygen os from later devices and u are expecting Samsung ui port...

Best bet is to recreate the UI as best you can with magisk and substratum.

[Q] porting miui v6 on Nexus 6

hi guys, in these days i'm using patchrom to port miui v6 on my galaxy s4 but i want to port the miui on my nexus 6
patchrom says that the stock rom must be based on android 4.4 or above, but i'm not sure if "above" include lollipop (nexus 6 don't have kitkat and no binaries or driver for it)
my question is: can it be possible to port miui v6 on the nexus 6 if there is no kitkat for it?
No
very helpfull....
Problably yes, but we need developers to do. Port Miui from Mi 4 Pro

the people that can port, have no interest in miui. the people that dont know how to port, want to run miui. either wsy, theres no miui for the n6.
Its a bummer, I really like MIUI.
@BigDig Not everyone loves stock Android. Same reason why lots of people buy Samsung devices, or HTC, or any other manufacturer devices. Stock Android is simple and clean but it's lacking in so many features because Google leaves that to the manufacturers to contribute. MIUI is incredibly popular overseas, and for good reason. You can't say it's a joke when it has more than 100 million users worldwide.

Emui Rom Port Request

Hello im a Regular Oneplus3T user . I'm Flashaholic . After seeing so much themes on play store about emui .why not Any Developer Port emui for Oneplus3T also No one Ported Samsung S8 room For op3t. I'm a Noob about rom porting .
I heard this forum is for question and answers so I'm asking You Guys why Can't EMUI or Some Other ROM can't be Port for Oneplus3T ? /Why Someone Is not Porting ?
Delete if not allowed . Thank you
1. There will never be a touchwiz based ROM for non Samsung devices. Maybe you've seen a S7 ROM ported to the S6, because they're Samsung devices. One reason is because Samsung doesn't release Device Trees for their devices. (Same reason why ROM's have a broken camera and other issues on Samsung devices). There's plenty of information about this on Google, so please do research before posting.
2. There's many reasons as to why there's no EMUI ROM; it's not open-source and it's extremely hard to port even if someone attempted to port.
TL;DR- If you want EMUI or Touchwiz, get a Huawei or Samsung. Don't make requests for ROM's without doing research on whether it's possible to port the OS.

I'm not a dev but i could help with testing.
I'm just a noob (910V) ,, but I am willing to be a beta tester....very much looking forward to this build...
Sounds good, if you need help, here I am, but Telegram its a better way to do discuss :fingers-crossed:
I'm not a dev but I have a note 4 Sprint and can be a tester or do other tasks. I'm in!
Can we use something other than WhatsApp? I 2nd the telegram notion.
Remember when XDA used to have Logic and common sense ?
Let's go over this one more time
You want to port Android 8.0 to Note 4. Are you talking about porting official TW Oreo from Note 8, or porting all TW features - proprietary, closed-source Samsung code - from TW to AOSP?

Good luck with Porting a 64Bit System to a 32Bit Device... Simply not possible. And ported 64Bit Sammy Features on 32Bit AOSP? Mhh... The Note 4 may be the last good Sammy Device, but we will never see newer Samsung Software on it as Marshmallow Ports or pure AOSP/Lineage. Correct Me if i'm wrong but i think that's it....
Lineage 14.x is running great,if the drivers are there why slouldnt run a N8port dousnt run?

Well generally speaking when you port a rom (Nougat , MM whatever the case maybe) from a 64bit device, you dont port it as 64bit obviously unless the arch is unlocked and ready for it, you port it as 32Bit, the only limitation in terms of Touchwiz is when a certin app has only 64bit libs (Bixby voice is a great example) so even if you run api 24 (nougat) you wont be able to use such apps, But firmware side you can port it without issues, All 64bit phones include a set of 32bit libs aswell. and in terms of snapdragon Note 4 , yes you will never see a nougat or higher ""TOUCHWIZ"" based rom, Exynos however is already running Nougat.

As we all know you cant run TouchWiz based applications on AOSP (SystemUI / Launcher and many more) due to the fact that they require SEM codes (Samsung experience mobile), If samsung had their system sources up then you would have been able to, But just converting LOS 14 or AOSP to TouchWiz is just not gonna happen

because will never work since sammy needs his own android runtime etc etc for boot because it have methods etc needed from the framework etc. try to install the n8 launcher on lineage and you see what happens. it give fc. even after you add the missing method it will again fc and even when you add all missing methods that launcher needs in frameworks it will still fc because methods in the main libs are missing. and using sammy libs on lineage one is impossible since after some libs replace it will give a nice blackscreen
Hello,i have a question, the dates from the N4 and Nexus 6 are quite similar:
https://www.inside-handy.de/handy-ve...-galaxy-note-4
For the nexus 6 exists an Android 8 port,
https://www.getdroidtips.com/lineage...oogle-nexus-6/
So,is it possible to make from this one a poert for our N4??

I think it is possible to port Oreo to the Note 4, but not TW version of Oreo (in other words, include all Note 8 features in an Oreo port)
It will most likely be ported as Lineage or RR without the extra Sammy features, idk.

In Terms Of Custom Roms & Kernels What Can We Expect ?

Is this influenced by Project Treble ?
You'll be able to run a stock rom via treble just like you can with the p10/mate10. That said, why would you want to? The camera will be straight trash on a custom rom.

It depends on what you take from this question:
1) Custom ROM based on EMUI, or
2) Custom ROam built from source.
If the P10 or Mate 10 series is anything to go by, there won't be many if any options of EMUI based customised ROMs. However, with the work that PHH is doing, he has stated earlier today (to a question of mine) that he will be looking to have his treble builds support the P20 Pro.
On Source built custom ROMs, you might loose things like the camera however there is also a potential that this could be ported over. Again, PHH has done some work to port over the Huawei camera to the Mate 10 etc but he also said he wouldn't be looking at this for the P20 Pro. Might be that we have to hope for someone else to try this task, I know I don't have the skill set for it.
Treble will definitely make it easier. However, it would still be helpful to get kernel sources released in a timely manner and encourage Devs to get this device / encourage Huawei to give devices to know quality developers.
In the meantime I would ask that people tweet or otherwise get in contact with Huawei to release kernel sources ASAP.

Expect nothing. Sell that crap and buy Nokia 3310. There is latest CM for it every day.
I'm not too concerned about a full custom ROM to be honest. Root is my main concern for minor tweaks and ad blocking etc

- How does PHH's builds differ usually from Stock EMUI ?
Hopefully there will be a kernel or two being developed with any luck ?

Treble based latest Oxygen OS port for OnePlus 3/3T?

Redmi note 4 and 5 series got a port of Oxygen OS based on treble from OnePlus 5/5T and it works great...
Any chance we get similar ports which could ensure latest firmware ports for our devices too?
If any developer can please look into it... our devices might be able to sustain longer with the latest snappy and better than stock android Oxygen OS!
Thanks in advance. Cheers?

OnePlus announced a while ago that our device should get Android P while skipping Android 8.1, maybe bringing with it a Treble-ized OxygenOS, but since, no news.

I m not talking about the official support cus it seems that it will take a lot of time as it is taking time for even 5/5T.
I m talking about the community ports like how the OnePlus 6 got the 6T stock ROM ported.
i believe its the only device that hasnt got ports of successor (5,5t or 6, 6t) Wonder when they are coming.
i always wondered like there were samsung ports why not latest oxygen ports for older devices and today I see a youtube video for oxygen os on the oye 5 pro with 4500 downloads
come on oneplus 3 community we can port latest oxygen os

Let's ask our developers to give it a try. I m sure there might be something they could do... i ll be ready to opt in for testing alpha beta phases.
However, there is Freedom OS that tries to mimic (not sure if that is ported) Oxygen OS but that is still stuck on 8.0 Nougat.
