May someone with LDAC cans verify if the Android pie upgrade for the Mi A2 also enables Bluetooth LDAC besides APT-X HD

Yes but LDAC option for developers it's a mere placeholder, actual LDAC implementation can only be verified connecting it to Bluetooth LDAC peripherals
Sent from my Xiaomi Mi A2 using XDA Labs

I've just updated my Mi A2 to Pie. I have a pair of Sony MDR-1000X Bluetooth headphones, which support SBC, AAC, aptX and LDAC. I can confirm that LDAC is still not working. When I connect the phone to my headphones it should default to LDAC. I can see in Bluetooth settings that it's actually using aptX only. I can manually select LDAC in developer settings, but when I do so I hear a brief unpleasant noise (like a guitar being unplugged from an amp), there's no noticeable improvement in quality and if I close and reopen developer settings I can see that the phone has defaulted back to aptX. I know that LDAC definitely works with my MDR-1000X headphones - I had it working with my OnePlus One running Oreo. I'd read reports of LDAC working on the Mi A2 Pie beta. Has anyone had any success with LDAC on their Mi A2 whilst running Pie?

Could I please have an update of this?
I have a Sony WH-1000MX3 and a Prostereo H2 in-ear headset, and both supports AptX HD and LDAC.
Will this work soon? Would love to buy a cheap phone that support these codecs. (I use an iPhone X daily, and that supports only SBC and AAC)

LDAC is opensource and royalty free, I believe it already is supported in the 6X, as was the support for aptx (proprietary) latter introduced into the A2, it may come soon with some updates at some point.

Thanks for answering.
So if I buy the phone now and upgrade to Android Pie, I don't get either AptX HD or LDAC?
(I've seen several posts out there that people just get SBC)

Yes you get AptX HD with Pie Update (it was introduced with last Oreo update), no LDAC at the moment, as I said LDAC is coming to All Xiaomi MIUI phones, it is opensource, of course it requires some work and depends on resources availability at the Xiaomi's A2 Android support team, given their priority is bugs, new features will arrive later, I think they bringed AptX HD support earlier (it implies Qualcomm licensing) given Xiaomi sells good AptX enabled headphones, of course LDAC is not so mainstream (typical LDAC cans cost more than the A2 itself) as AptX devices.
But I fell it will arrive later

Any development here? I will buy this phone for my Sony WH-1000MX3 when both LDAC and AptX HD are confirmed working.

AptX HD is working now, LDAC due on later updates ( already all Xiaomi with MIUI rom on Pie support LDAC now, so likely to come to AndroidOne roms later)

Really, I hope so. Or else my mdr 1000x are a bit bottlenecked.
Any chances to add the lib manually? I mean my Redmi Note 4 with LOS16 (unofficial) could use LDAC without a problem.
Man, coming from LDAC to APTx is kinda disappointing.

Sadly a year has past since the last comment and it still hasn't been resolved.
All settings revert back to default after being modified. Many many small updates yet none came up with a patch for this well-known issue. Sad.
Plus on top of that I've found a response on a Google forum which is more than hilarious. The topic in which this response was given was created for the same purpose this one was I'm replying to, not a general enquiry on developer options.

[Q] Headphone & BT Sound Quality

Most threads here and across the 'net seem obsessed (probably correctly) with the Z3+ thermal issues. I cannot find any real analysis of the sound quality, either via headphones or BT.
I have three broad questions:
1. What is the impact of the new automatic headphone calibration system? Does it do anything useful?
2. How is the BT performance with apt-x headphones?
3. Anyone used LDAC with Sony headphones? If so, does it work well and does it sound demonstrably different with hires files?
I'm asking all these questions as I've recently 'upgraded' from a Z3 Compact to a LG G4. Found the sound quality from the Z3C pretty good, though had the occasional BT connection glitch. Not too fond so far of the LG G4's audio, and BT seems to have a weird issue with performance - a digital 'haze' when also connected with a Smartwatch. Just wanted to know what the Z3+ is like in audio terms, as I have only a few days left with my carrier to swap phones, and Z3+ is all I'm realistically considered. Not a fan of Samsung phones at all, and a removable SD card is key for me, so that rules out the S6 anyway.

Now I am not an audiophile by any stretch of the word, but I do like my music to sound good.
That said, I can tell you that the apt-x headphones I used with my Z4 (Panasonic Backbeat Pro) sound absolutely amazing.
I have not given LDAC a try, but I know very little about it. It is for FLAC files over wireless, right?

Its for HiRes fies, not just FLAC. Anything recorded beyond CD quality. Thanks for the comments.

I'm a bit of an audiophile, but only when it comes to music production (metal music in particular).
That being said, the sound quality through headphones is amazing. I've been using either the Bose Noise Comfort 15, and the Quadbeats that my LG G4 came with, and I must say - I love the sound quality when ClearAudio+ is enabled.
The only downside to the audio aspect of the Z3+ is the fact that the speakers are horribly low. At their highest volume, they're not loud, and the phone vibrates a lot because of the sound. It's clear, but just very quiet. I'd be a bit hesitant with raising the max volume via root (not sure if that can be accomplished with this phone, but I did it with my G3) because the phone really does shake a lot.
I can only comment on the headphone output of the phone, I do not use speakerphone for anything but the occasional call and YT video. I wouldn't expect them to be anything decent, though I've found them to be adequate for my use. I'm coming from a Moto X (2013) for reference.
I'm no expert so take as you will. My brief listening experience with the phone has all been done with these suckers:

Those are Alclair Reference CIEMs. Yea, they're badass. No, I do not have an amp between them and the phone, they are wired directly.
I've played 320kbps MP3s and Flac files. They all sound good, I notice no difference between this and the Moto X. I did however notice a slight difference when I enabled the Xperia smart sound (I think that's what it was called), it made the image stage a bit wider. Otherwise I found the sound to be as accurate as my previous phone, though I attribute that mostly to the headphones.

Question Bluetooth Codec Supported

Hi. May I know which bluetooth codec is supported by Redmi Note 10 Pro? Does it support aptx tws+ and aptx adaptive? Thank you. Using MIUI 12.5 Stable.

It supports all major and latest codecs, but your bluetooth device should also support those codecs. Otherwise, no use.

Yes my devices support Aptx TWS+ and worked just fine on my Poco X3 NFC. But it only connected as APTX only (no Aptx TWS+) on my Redmi Note 10 Pro.

AFAIK both ROM and Bluetooth device must have built in support for certain codecs, you can check in developer settings, what is exactly supported in your current ROM/MIUI

I have checked in developer settings. Whenever I try to pick the aptx tws+ it will be automatically changes back to aptx only. FYI, the phone automatically which codec is suitable for devices and I can't really change it.

Accessories USB-C to 3.5mm Jack adapter

Hi Everyone. I'm looking for a USB-C to 3.5mm jack adapter for Motorola EDGE 20 PRO. There is so many different adapters and I got no idea which one will gonna work with this smartphone. Thanks
I don't like Apple lol but that's all they had when I went so I got it... Or it was recommended.
Yet, while it worked ok for my OnePlus 7T and my Toyota Tacoma it really worked perfectly with my Chevrolet Malibu. Why the discrepancy I don't know but the only difference was the vehicle stock stereo in each vehicle. Not sure if that helps and really not sure if it matters which brand. I've posted my results on the similar OnePlus forum here and no response also.
Please follow up with your choice and results of you wouldn't mind. Thanks.
Edit:
Sounds like both Google and Samsung offer this adapter also and Reddit (I know where all the experts go to Reddit...lol) seems to offer various opinions... But I'm still interested in this outcome cause my kids claimed my Apple adapter and now I need a replacement adapter.... But getting a quantified answer seems impossible!!!
After some reading it seems like the Apple adapter while it works out seems that their are some complaints of it being of a lower volume than others....

I bought the Tempotec Sonata HD Pro and it sounds amazing (it has an amplifier builtin). It should be able to power any IEM and efficient headphone. I also have the Samsung dongle, and even though the sound quality is acceptable, the volume is too low (same issue as the Apple dongle).
If you have a high impedance headphone, consider investing in a professional DAC.

Disadvantages -
No IP certification
MIUI has still lot of bugs
Is it worth paying this much amount for this phone considering there are many other good phones available in same price range?

Thanks for your answer, it turns out that I am in a country where my operator is not approved so those options do not appear, I had an op8 pro which was done by the logkit method in oos 11 but with oos 12 log kit does not work if anyone knows a method of forcing them I am very grateful.
Mine just worked from the off. It does turn off from time to time, depends where I am
i need this too..
I'm in the same situation.
My carrier activated VoLTE to my 7 Pro back in 2019 and i used till yesterday (when i made the update to OxygenOS 12), through OnePlus Logkit since OnePlus always refused to give me that option...
If anyone knows how it can be done, it would be fantastic.
Thanks

No. As far as I can tell, at least till now there's no way unless we root the phone.
This is honestly unacceptable how major features like this are deactivated due to nobody taking ownership. This vendor is becoming a joke. I recon this will be my last oneplus phone. Might as well pay a few extra hundred dollars and mitigate the risk of bricked functionality.

Forget it. Since July 2019 that I'm asking them for an official Logkit that give us the switch to enable VoLTE.
They said that it might be my ISP that didn't activate it, then when I said to them that Vodafone Portugal had successfully activated it even OnePlus smartphones weren't on their "white list", they simply didn't care and never sent it to me.
Then I found the Logkit here and I successfully used, without ANY issue, till I updated to Android 12, 2 or 3 weeks ago.
Always an HTC client (well done HTC... ) and this is my first, and unfortunately the last, OnePlus smartphone.
I really like this 7 Pro; it still works very well and it doesn't have punch holes or any sh* for the front camera (which I don't use) so it has been perfect but the behaviour from OnePlus regarding VoLTE and updates. Remember how they bragged in September 2019 for releasing an update right after Pixel phones. After that was the disgrace we've seen with late updates, stable updates with bugs (don't quite understand the intention of having a beta program if some bugs on the stable version we're reported since beta 1 in some cases I read in the OnePlus community).
They simply don't care about their customers (only the ones that are always licking their... well, feet.
Now, it's funny to see the path they are going, being more and more swallowed by the mother company.

[NE2213] How to enable VoLTE (OnePlus 10 Pro 5G)I think my how to "enable VoLTE" guide is the first on XDA for OnePlus 10 Pro
I agree with everyone in this thread. I have the exact same experience with VoLTE and VoWLAN suddenly not working any more because of the update to OxygenOS 12.1 after many years of it working flawlessly.
And I have the same oppinion about OnePlus and the 7 Pro.
