FAQ
Why GSI not a normal ROM ?
- The sources are still not available/stable so the only way to get new Pie ROMs for our device is by using GSI.
TWRP says no OS after flashing system.img ?
-Thats normal , just reboot and it should boot
Phone shows the following message after every reboot "Internal problem detected..."
-That's a vendor issue, it does not do anything just press OK.
Screen freeze or unresponsive ?
-Flash the NFC/Hotspot fix.
Which vendor is recommended ?
- NFound v1.1 has less amount of issues.
Some customization options does not work ?
-Restart system UI and/or Reboot system.
Themes are broken (Dark/Black) ?
- wipe clean everything (including vendor) and use NFound vendor , follow the instructions.
Substratum does not work ?
- use this apk key and install it as normal apk
Option XYZ does not work ?
- Post your setup with detailed description and of course a LOG.
I want XYZ feature ?
- I'm only a builder not a dev, so no promises.
How stable is this ROM ?
- the ROM is very stable and can be used as daily driver.
Very interested in this ROM, will try it out
Thanks for your great efforts, buddy.
I am going to try it out.
Which universial bootstack do you recommend?
Can you kindly make a link to it?
Thanks in advance.

use this one here https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=11410932744536985259
anyway if you are in official LOS15.1and its working fine you don't need to flash bootstack/modem , just follow the instructions and it should boot fine
NOTE : WIPE THE VENDOR & FLASH ANOTHER ONE OTHER WISE IT WONT BOOT.
Nice!
Glad that my guide helped

Thanks for quick reply, king1990. Much appreciated.
My mobile is Axon7G model, and ATM Nfound's AospExtended ROM v5.8 (Rom 8.1) running.
Your ROM zip title indicates A-only but will it work fine with my Axon7G?

Flash LOS15.1 and it should create vendor partition to allow you to install this ROM
it will work in both G & U models
You post a GSI in axon 7 forums, why if i may ask? This is a GSI for treble A phones,i think this should be in the treble forums only?

Those of us who initially tested this GSI did not think it was ready for other devices outside of the Axon 7 community, as it will not boot on LOS based vendors. @king1990 built this for our community, and it was just way too good of a ROM to keep from sharing on XDA.
Once again, thanks for your opinion. /S

My opinion is that this is a GSI for a treble devices,so thats why i thought this should be in the treble forum.
And yes im avoiding treble system for my axon 7 because its a mess.
My opinion is this ROM is hands down, THE best GSI I've used in all of my testing, and by a long shot. Seeing as how this is only the first build, I'm excited to see how future builds will improve.
The difference between using this ROM with it's suggested installation, and other ROMs of the past is like night and day, including pre-treble ROMs. This is definitely the whole package when it comes to custom ROMs. Full of options, that work, and a UI that flies with no lag, without compromising battery life.
See screenshots of estimated 6 hours SOT, almost 2 hours of which I was on a Viber phone call through Bluetooth headphones while at the same time using my phone to message on Telegram.
Where others came up short, Liquid Remix just works. I'm sure there will be many other posts like mine, giving praises to this ROM. @king1990 Thank you again, so much for building this for us. It was a much needed relief from many headaches of searching and testing and fixes and testing... Lol
XDA only rendering 1 of 2 screenshots. Here is the second one.

8. Install Magisk 18.0
However, every time boots into system, it shows error:

There's internal problem with your device. Contact your manufacturer for details.
Does it mean Vendor Partition is not right?

This is a false error, and is very common when using a GSI. There is nothing wrong and it affects nothing. It is a minor annoyance to click OK, only on boot.
Sometimes this will go away depending on what vendor or kernel you are using. Hopefully it may go away in the future with a better vendor or if a future Liquid build works with other vendors.

Ignore it! It's nothing serious. And yes it's the vendors fault. Our vendor is a mess!

AICP
Android Ice Cold Project
AICP is known by everyone as the "Ice Cold Project" that started on a Desire HD years ago (2012) and since then has evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community that you can find!!!
Until Lollipop, the Rom has always been based on AOKP. Unfortunately, since AOKP stopped development (but made a comeback later), we changed our base to CM.
With the re-brand of CM to LineageOS (LAOS) we are now LAOS based with some tweaks from AOSP.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them out or the LAOS team will if it concerns their code base. This rom isn't LAOS supported, so no need to report errors/bugs to them!!
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you. Hard & a lot.

You tell...
FAQ:
Before using the ROM:
Q. Can I have an ETA for the next build?
A. Yes, just look in the OP to see if your device is built on a nightly or weekly schedule.
Q. Does this ROM support custom kernels?
A. No. You can still use them, but discussion should go in the thread of the respective kernel. We don't offer support for bugs you might encounter while using them!
Q. Why doesn't this ROM support Xposed?
A. Xposed is a hack that is geared towards AOSP, custom ROM's modify the framework a lot, so Xposed can cause a ton of issues on custom ROM's. Now it might work for you, however it is not to be discussed in this thread, and you should refrain from posting bug reports.
Q. Alright, but I still want to flash Xposed, so which version do I need to install?
A. You will need to use the version arm64/arm/whatever for SDK 27.
Flashing the ROM:
Q. What do I need to know before flashing?
A. Check the install instructions in the first post...
Q. Can the builds be dirty flashed over each other?
A. Yes, however make a nandroid backup first as there is a chance of getting a bootloop or encountering bugs. Also bugs may only be reported on a clean flash.
Q. How do I dirty flash builds?
A. Wipe the System, Cache and ART/Dalvik cache. Flash the ROM, GApps (only needed if you wipe the system), your preferred root solution and reboot. Or just use the OTA app to preform that task for you.
Q. How do I flash kernel builds?
A1. If it's a .img file, boot into TWRP and go to the install page in TWRP, in the bottom right corner select "install image", select the desired kernel, then select "boot", then swipe to flash, then go back to the install screen and install your root method again, if you don't want to loose root and reboot.
A2. If it's a flashable ZIP, you can flash it together with a ROM update or separately. Go to the install page in TWRP, choose the kernel zip (or add it to the flash queue right after the ROM zip). Then add your root method to the queue if you don't want to loose root. Now swipe to flash, and then reboot.
Using the ROM:
Q. How do I enable software buttons?
A. Go to Aicp Extras/Navigation bar, and enable it.
Q. I installed a bad theme and now I'm getting a bootloop, how do I fix it?
A. In TWRP, flash the substratum rescue zip that's in the substratum folder on the internal storage.
Q. I keep losing root with Magisk, how do I fix it?
A. Check this out. If that doesn't work for you, ask for help in this thread, read or ask in the Magisk thread on XDA or just re-flash Magisk!
Q. I'm having issues with WhatsApp, how do I fix it?
A. Read this
Q. Do I need to provide a logcat if I'm reporting a bug?
A. If you want it to be fixed faster (or at all) then yes, you should definitely provide a logcat. (Note: Please just link the logcat from your GDrive, Dropbox, etc. and do not post the content here. Thanks.
Q. How do I get a logcat, what type should I get and more questions that can conveniently be answered by my pre-determined answer?
A1. Read this thoroughly. Also, here's a good app for getting logs: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tortel.syslog (Root needed).
A2. If you are already rooted, you can use the built-in feature to make a logcat and provide that. Just look into the others section in the AICP Extras main page.
The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android Oreo. You don't need to install any Add-on's, simply download the latest ROM, GApps, flash it and go!
If you want the device to run the ROM "rooted", you can flash a root solution of your choice after the ROM Zipfile.
It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing and please avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug.
If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience any strange behavior.
How to flash:
(Again: Don't do it if you don't know it!)
1. Download the ROM and GApps and transfer them to your device.
2. Boot to recovery (TWRP recommended).
3. Wipe the System, Cache, Data and ART/Dalvik cache.
4. Flash the ROM Zipfile.
5. Flash the GApps (optional, needed for e.g. Google Playstore to work).
6. Flash the root solution of your choice (optional).
7. Reboot your device.
The ROM has GApps persistence in between dirty flashes, so you only have to flash them once!
The root solution should be flashed together with every OTA update (= ROM Update)
Currently Supported Root Solutions:
Magisk stable
Magisk versions higher than 14.0 doesn't require flash on every dirty flash depending on the deivce, some devices need you to flash it every time, unless your maintainer says otherwise it should be fine
KERNEL:
The kernel in this ROM follows LAOS source with custom additions.
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA:
To be able to flash using the built-in OTA app, TWRP recovery is needed.
You can still use the LAOS recovery and OTA app, but you will need to download the zip file and flash it manually from within your recovery. The Zipfile gets saved in the "aicp_ota" folder on your internal storage.
Please be sure that you are on the latest TWRP recovery. Keep in mind that this could also be an unofficial version!

Bro you were on RR right and you installed it today already. Thanks for trying this rom. I saw almost all were having the encryption issue in RR. But is it the same in this rom. I'm on los latest build. So if i want to flash this rom wiping dalvic cache ,system, data is alright as mentioned in op(removing all sort of screen lock in the last los rom). Or do i need to do something extra to avoid encryption issue.

I have removed my encryption long time ago, before I have installed the first Nougat custom ROMs. Therefore I have wiped my entire device with a fastboot ROM (made a backup of my device before). That's why I have no problems with the encryption.
Wiping dalvik, system and data is not enough to remove the enryption. You must choose format data from the Wipe menu. But keep in mind, you will lost your data. That's why you should make a proper backup!

Ok.. format data will then actually wipe everything on my phone. After that I'll directly flash this rom and reboot to bootloader flass gapps right.

Why removing encryption is necessary for aicp and rr rom..lineage works without removing encryption..
Oh yes, big big thanks !!! I was waiting for two roms, aicp and paranoid, rom runs fantastic, quick and stable.
Btw: coming from aokp and format data wasn't necessary.
Works like a charm! Haven't encountered any other issue other than hardware buttons backlight.

I just ask this so people are not confused, and i am one of them that is confused. OPS in threads can be a mess,or have things missed that can be important

GApps is always optional because some people want them and some don't. If you read carefully, on LOS 15.1 is the same.
I have heard Android Pie got GAPPS inbuild and i believe that because google dont want microg users. So its not true...

Why should I mention other stuff if I already provide a working bootstack. Why would I give a download link for Gapps and add the the optionally tag, if they would be build in.
thnx @OrdenKrieger and all others involved :good:
Nice build - working smooth, no lag
DT2W ok
Used bitgapps as a starter
At last NO echo and incall volume adjustable
FP working
Hotspot OK
camera pics ok, recording crashes when saving - on both pics and video lag on movement
usb preferences work
afaik there is no way in settings to reverse softkeys so i used mine : https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=3700668719832237510 (be sure to be rooted and mount system/vendor)
Notifications work - on lockscreen and leds ok
EDIT : after testing a bit, definitely more heating and i mean a lot, more cpu load (f.e. as on the PPR1 img )..... could not stabilize temp on cpu 92C ! Only after applying powersave in EXKM...definitely something to look into (only Wifi on, no BT, no specific apps running....only the basic stuff to test your build )
EDIT2 : fast charging way more heat on battery - also battery drain too fast even with no cpu load
Will test further
Has anyone tried recording a video using the camera on a clean flash? Does the camera app freeze or crash?

yep, tried recording now and crashes when saving. Also lag on movement.
I try to flash but brick.
I download the bootloader and modem and Twrp and install them.
TWRP from OP did not see vendor Partition.
After flashing the Rom, no Twrp booting, no System booting...just fastboot working.

So, the OP says "FOR NOW THIS BUILD ONLY WORKS ON DEVICES WITH A VENDOR Partition". Did your device have a vendor partition before flashing this one?

Hi mate!
You shouldnt have used another BL nor twrp if you were on Nfounds and twrp3.2.18.Just flashed this rom and rebooted would have been fine.
Try to revert back to where you came from, at least flash his twrp3.2.18 and do a restore if you can.

Thank you very much, I am on the other LineageOS again.
Flashing Nfounds Twrp through fastboot, than O Bootstack again and I could restore my backup
Maybe they should point on that in the OP here.
I will try again in a minute and report back.
Thank you again!

That work's just fine.
I just tried this new build now, but it's just the same as the build you posted earlier today.
The only difference in this build....
Device information now shows Axon7 U
Same small bugs as in the other LineageOS 16 GSI plus wifi bit bugy
Signature spoofing is broken
Not worth it jet setting it up all new again.
I went back to my backup again.
Thank you again.
Edit
Of course, it's easier to flash because Post 1,2 and 3 are "included" now.
So it's quicker to flash.

Not quite. Mine was derived from Redmi Note 4. It looks the same for sure but devs have done some adjustments as to ECHO, dt2w working, notifications, ....
BUT my LOS16 build had no heating, nice CPU load and no battery drain and no heating when charging at all but had the annoying echo as we know it on other gsi builds and no dt2w, no notifications working on lockscreen, no led...
So there are definitely pros from this build and pros from mine.
Hope they can manage heating.
Also back on AEX as the heating (in my case) was too heavy. Dont want to ruin anything now

AICP
Android Ice Cold Project
AICP is known by everyone as the "Ice Cold Project" that started on a Desire HD years ago (2012) and since then has evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community that you can find!!!
Until Android Lollipop, the ROM has always been based on AOKP. Unfortunately, since AOKP stopped development (but made a comeback later), we changed our base to CM.
With the re-brand of CM to LineageOS (LOS) we became LineageOS based with some tweaks from AOSP and then changed to be based on the "Ground Zero Open Source Project" (GZOSP) for Android Pie.
We changed again for Android Q with a base of AOSP repositories and some additions from LineageOS for device specific repositories.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them out, if it concerns our code base. This ROM isn't LineageOS supported, so there is no need to report errors/bugs to them!!
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications and if
* you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you. Hard & a lot.

FAQ:
Before using the ROM:
Q. Can I have an ETA for the next build?
A. Yes, just look here to see what day your device is built on.
Q. Does this ROM support custom kernels officially?
A. No. You can still use them, but discussion should go in the thread of the respective kernel. We don't offer support for bugs you might encounter while using them!
Q. Why doesn't this ROM support Xposed?
A. Xposed is a hack that is geared towards AOSP. Custom ROMs modify the framework a lot, so Xposed can cause a ton of issues on custom ROMs. Now it might work for you, however it is not to be discussed in this thread, and you should refrain from posting bug reports.
Q. Alright, but I still want to flash Xposed, so which version do I need to install?
A. Information about Xposed, EdXposed or Riru Core can be obtained from the XPosed General forums .
Flashing the ROM:
Q. What do I need to know before flashing?
A. Check the flashing instructions...
Q. Can the builds be dirty flashed over each other?
A. Yes, this is the usual behaviour on flashing a new official build by (or using) the build-in updater service.
Q. How do I 'dirty flash' builds?
A. Wipe the System, Cache and ART/Dalvik cache. Flash the ROM, GApps (only needed if you wipe the system), your preferred root solution and reboot. Or just use the OTA app to preform that task for you.
Q. How do I flash kernel builds?
A1. If it's a .img file, boot into TWRP and go to the install page in TWRP, in the bottom right corner select "install image", select the desired kernel, then select "boot" as the destination, then swipe to flash, then go back to the install screen and install your root method again, if you don't want to loose root and reboot.
A2. If it's a flashable ZIP, you can flash it together with a ROM update or separately. Go to the install page in TWRP, choose the kernel zip (or add it to the flash queue right after the ROM zip). Then add your root method to the queue if you don't want to loose root. Now swipe to flash and reboot afterwards.
Using the ROM:
Q. I installed a bad theme and now I'm getting a bootloop, how do I fix it?
A. In TWRP, flash the substratum rescue zip that's in the substratum folder on the internal storage.
Q. I'm having issues with WhatsApp, how do I fix it?
A. Read this
Q. Do I need to provide a logcat if I'm reporting a bug?
A. If you want it to be fixed faster (or at all) then yes, you should definitely provide a logcat AND the model name. (Note: Please just link the logcat from your GDrive, Dropbox, etc. and do not post the content here. Thanks.)
The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android Q. You don't need to install any Add-ons, simply download the latest ROM and GApps, then follow the flashing instructions and go!
If you want the device to run the ROM "rooted", you can flash a root solution of your choice after the ROM Zipfile.
It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing and please avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup (or with any backup/restore app) as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug, restoring regular apps is fine though.
If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience any strange behavior.
How to flash for the first time:
(Again: Don't do it if you don't know!)
NOTE:
WE ARE ENCRYPTED (FILE BASED FORCED ENCRYPTION). So if you are unencrypted format data partition or use any no_verity solution you want. We don't support it.
Files to download before starting:
* Download stable OxygenOS full zip 10.3.2 from here.
(XDA thread for reference)
* Download TWRP image & zip Installer from Mauronofrio
* Download AICP ROM (Link)
* Download latest OpenGapps nano or micro package for ARM64 & Android 10.0 from here
Setting the phone into a "clean" device state and/or flash AICP for the first time:
(e.g. coming from another custom ROM)
1. Connect the phone to a PC.
2. Reboot to bootloader and boot your device into recovery mode:
Code:
fastboot boot twrp-3.3.1-18-enchilada-Q-mauronofrio.img
.
3. Wipe the System, Cache, and Data.
4. Flash the latest OxygenOS zip & Flash TWRP Installer zip.
5. Reboot to Recovery.
6. Flash OxygenOS zip again (to make sure it is on both slots) & TWRP Installer zip.
7. Reboot to Recovery again.
8. Flash the AICP ROM zip. You don't need to flash twrp zip anymore since we build it with rom.
9. Reboot to Recovery once again.
10. Flash OpenGApps (nano recommended) package and latest Magisk if you want to get rooted.
11. Reboot.
Installing ROM Updates ("dirty flashing") MANUALLY
1. Reboot to Recovery.
2. Flash Substratum rescue zip if you have a theme applied or uninstall the theme completely.
3. Flash the AICP ROM zip. You don't need to flash twrp zip anymore since we build it with rom.
4. Reboot to Recovery.
5. Flash OpenGApps package.
6. Flash Magisk zip, if you want to be rooted.
7. Reboot.
We recommend to use integrated Updater via AicpExtras to update system since it will maintain gapps and magisk. Note that update process is slow and it will be faster if you maintain the device awake.
Currently supported Root Solution:
Magisk stable
Magisk version >= 20.3 recommended.

IMPORTANT.
Before start to flash it:
* Download 5.1.11 Firmware OnePlus6Oxygen_22_OTA_015_all_1808102118_770880.zip and move to your internal SDCard.
* Download TWRP: twrp-3.2.3-0-enchilada.img
* Download TWRP installer zip: twrp-installer-enchilada-3.2.3-0.zip and move that to your internal SD card.
* Download AICP Weekly and copy to your internal SD card.
* Download latest OpenGapps nano package for arm64 and copy to your internal SD card.
1. Go to bootloader mode and boot your device into recovery mode: (use the lastest official TWRP)
fastboot boot twrp-3.2.3-0-enchilada.img
Click to collapse
2. wipe system, data and caches
3. flash OnePlus6Oxygen_22_OTA_015_all_1808102118_770880.zip + TWRP installer zip in a row.
4. reboot to recovery
5. flash OnePlus6Oxygen_22_OTA_015_all_1808102118_770880.zip again.
This way, we are sure that we have same firmware on both A&B slot's.
6. Boot into system
Now, we are ready to flash AICP
a. Go to recovery again. ( TWRP was flashed already...)
b. Wipe system, data and caches
c. Flash AICP.zip + TWRP installer
d. Reboot to recovery
e. Flash GAPPS + Magisk 17.1 (optiional)
f. Reboot to system.
On dirty flash:
** Repeat steps between a-f.
You have to flash TWRP installer after every ROM.zip update then boot into other slot and flash GAPPS + Magisk (optional)
** NO NEED TO CLEAN DALVİK/CACHES
** NEVER switch slots manually from recovery.
Enjoy !!!
Installed it and now testing  good work for the amazing ROM

Sorry, only for my interest. To use nano package instead of pico is only for the face-unlock thing or also for the account login problems I sometimes could read in other threads or of other reason, perhaps you can tell me please.
After setup AICP, can I uninstall e.g. google search and Device Health Services and face detection/unlock stuff ? Thanks in advance.

You can allways try with pico package... Try and report please
@csolanol or @semdoc , what is the reason to have the os on both slots ?
Also nessesary if I am coming from Stock-OOS 5.1.11 with July Security, just rooted and TWRP ?
The one we should flash is the rollback version which you have to flash if you
come from a higher security patch or better if you come from Android 9 to 8, but it don't format data ? So this ROM has July or August patch ?
Sorry when asking again, makes me all a lit bit confused, on other 8.1 custom roms we don't have to do so. Then I can flash and tell about pico package.

You have to. For example you flash ob2 it flashes to one slot. Not both. So you flash the ob2 then boot to twrp technically your now on ob2. So you flash a rom again that's on pie that will flash it to the 8.1 slot because your already on the pie slot. So if you keep both slots either pie or Oreo you won't have any problems with different firmware and can flash your life away and if your going from just to September which is what I'm assuming this is then you will probably not have to format data. But if you flash back to July you will. Or any other security patch before September.
@joemossjr , that's a really comprehensive answer, more than one thanks worthy.

Actually flashing procedure is same for ALL ROM's...
Trivial Part: You have to flash same stock ROM on both A&B slots... Latest Oreo firmware If you are planning to flash any oreo based custom ROM, or latest OB If you are going to flash pie based custom ROM, respectively... Or you will loose yourself in endless bootloops....
After that... As you may noticed, the flashing row in TWRP is same...
FYI.

For those about to flash..... I salute you!
With AICP 15 fueled by Android Q.
NOTE: TESTBUILD. SELINUX DISABLED.
Since I build this ROM, I might as well upload it here for other to enjoy.
You should get to know how to flash before you download this (and potentially softbrick your phone). I may create detailed instructions later, but for now just search xda.
The basics are:
ZF6 has 2 slots (A/B) for ROM, Boot, Vendor and many other partitions. To start with we want the same version in both slots. We get that by flashing the full stock ROM two times. Remember: every time you flash a ROM, it will automagically change to the other slot. The recovery(TWRP) will swap slots when rebooting to recovery (but only after flashing a ROM).
Do not change slots yourself, let the installer manage!
Do not wipe system partition or other partitions unless it is specified!
Installing AICP Q:
Initially, you must have Android Q installed and working in both Slot A and B. Verify that it works, then use mauronofrios twrp to flash AICP. In short:
- Get Android Q running on both slots
- Remove all fingerprints from current ROM.
- Remove all locks on lockscreen.
- Boot TWRP 3.3.1-24 Q Unofficial by mauronofrio from your PC (or boot directly to twrp if already installed).
- Flash AICP Q
- Flash TWRP 3.3.1-24 Unofficial Installer by mauronofrio
- reboot to TWRP (this will activate the other slot, where AICP just got installed)
- Optionally Flash gapps
- Optionally Flash magisk if you want root
- Wipe data
- ReBoot to system
Don't panic if things go wrong. I have never seen a device being hard bricked due to wrong flashing.
EXPECT soft bricks if this is your first flash! A/B devices are tricky.
If you are uncertain of anything, make sure you have access to help (I will not be around much).
SOURCE with everything you need to build yourself.

A. Xposed is not yet released for android 10.
Flashing the ROM:
Q. What do I need to know before flashing?
A. Check the flashing instructions...
Q. Can the builds be dirty flashed over each other?
A. Yes, however make a nandroid backup first as there is a chance of getting a bootloop or encountering bugs. Also bugs may only be reported on a clean flash.
A. If you want it to be fixed faster (or at all) then yes, you should definitely provide a logcat. (Note: Please just link the logcat from your GDrive, Dropbox, etc. and do not post the content here. Thanks.)
The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android 10.
1. Download the ROM and GApps and transfer them to your device.
2. Boot to recovery (TWRP recommended).
3. Wipe the System, Cache, and Data (you might need to format the data partition!).
4. Flash the ROM Zipfile.
5. Flash the GApps (optional, needed for e.g. Google Playstore to work).
6. Reboot and set up your device, enable developer settings and in them OEM unlock/Advanced reboot/USB tethering.
7. Reboot back into TWRP recovery.
8. Flash the root solution of your choice (optional).
9. Reboot your device.
The procedure may vary from device to device and is a bit different on system updates!
The ROM has GApps persistence in between dirty flashes, so you only have to flash them once! This might differ on AvB Devices.
Currently supported Root Solution:
Magisk stable
Magisk versions >= 20.1 don't usually need to be flashed on every dirty flash.
Depending on the device, you may need to flash it every time, unless your maintainer says otherwise, you should be fine.
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA ("Over-The-Air" Updates):
TWRP recovery is needed to be able to flash using the built-in OTA app.
Please make sure that you are on the latest TWRP recovery, keep in mind that this could also be an unofficial version!
On encrypted devices you will have to enter your PIN/password in TWRP before the process starts.

Safety Net need help from Magisk or similar. Will try to fix for next build.
I would love to have Quick Settings to dismiss when using the Camera Tile with gCam.
Asus camera gets slow in pro mode with slow shutter speeds.
Other than that, I don't know what to fix. You tell me .
EDIT1: Oh yeah, the Google key need to be reassigned to something more useful...
EDIT2: Not an issue but yes, flash TWRP after the ROM.

Thank you for this Rom. This seems to be the best Rom for this Device after the first Day of using it.
One little Thing: I am using two Simcards, but in the Statusbar I can see only Simcard 1 and also there is no LTE and Volte Sign.

Thanks for reply m8,

is asus camera built in? and any idea how to solve the camera thing you mentioned?
whats the stuff about safetynet? any problem with magisk and hide props conf module?

I've set mine to show 4G in stead. It works, but only if I'm not on WiFi.
SIM cards are both showing for me, but I have seen some strange things like showing the wrong card. I am currently only using SIM, the other one disabled.

Yes it's possible, micky387 is already doing it for in OmniRom on Q if I'm not wrong.
Asus camera and gallery built in. If I knew how to fix the pro camera I had done it already.
I don't know if this latest build has SN working out of the box, as it just got feb security update. But Safety net is fine with Magisk props module.
I will probably be super slow to fix stuff, but any help is welcomed
Will update OP with links to the source, which I forgot.
IDK if I'm missing something, but when I click the link to download, I'm told access is denied. What's up?

It works if i install it over the latest LOS 16.0 instead of Stock Pie Rom. Use it now as daily Driver, very good! Thank You

What is PAX?
Our release of Android 10, titled CR-8.0, is codenamed PAX after the Latin word for peace and Pax, the roman goddess for peace.
PAX provides you with the features you need while keeping the focus on delivering an elegant, smooth, and well polished experience. PAX delivers a set of unique features, like a system-wide font engine that also allows for applying fonts on user apps while supporting user fonts through custom APKs generated on fonts.carbonrom.org. We are confident you'll love it, and there's many more things to discover
Disclaimer:
While we make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device, family, pets, or perception of reality. We ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash! As always, make sure to do backups.
Support:
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has addressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our website. Carbon FAQ
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
4) Join our Discord server or Telegram group! There, you can connect with other Carbon users and our developers, and you can get quicker responses to your bug reports. The invite link is right below.
Install Instructions:
Other than previously provided ROMs, this is using the "normal" method of providing a flashable zip.
You should start off with the latest OxygenOS on both slots and then proceed to flash Carbon.
You must at least use TWRP 3.4.0-1 by @mauronofrio to flash this.
Download the ROM and optionally GApps, reboot to TWRP.
Flash the ROM
Reboot recovery (to switch between slots)
Flash GApps (optional)
Format /data*
Done
*As TWRP is currently unable to format /data you can use fastboot to format
Code:
fastboot -w
It appears that fastboot on Windows has issues with the wipe command. In that case use both of the following commands
Code:
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot erase metadata

Perks of flashing ROMs at 5AM, FIRST!!
Wow! Another rom awesome job!
let the ROMs start yeahhh
More roms!!! Yaaas
If coming by from another rom, do I just format data first and then flash Carbon or should I reflash OOS on both slots again?
@Myself5, you say to reboot twrp in between for flashing gapps to another partition. Do I read it right? Or do we need to flash the rom again to another partition after rebooting twrp

I am always doing both ..just to be sure and to eliminate bugs
great work!
We dont need to format user data if you are on OOS do you?
Please do look into adding more space for GAPPs as I prefer to use mini
does oneplus 8 work?
so for me this doesnt work and i dunno what i am doing wrong.
flashed oos to both slots, flashed your twrp, flashed rom, reboot to recovery and device doesnt decrypt so no gapps to install. booting up ends in sticking at carbon boot logo.
Hey ! Do you add face unlock ??
I updated the flashing instruction in OP to reflect on various ways to format /data as TWRP is currently not able to do so.
You can either use fastboot to format
fastboot -w

or if that fails (which has been reported of being an issue with fastboot on Windows) flash THIS userdata.img using
fastboot flash userdata userdata.img

EDIT: As of TWRP 3.4.0-1 by @mauronofrio you can flash Carbon with that just fine.
I discovered Bluetooth is broken in yesterdays build. This has been fixed in CARBON-CR-8.0-PAX-UNOFFICIAL-instantnoodlep-20200627-1418 which has just been uploaded.
Note: During the tests today I noticed that GApps seems to be finniky when updating. When I flashed Gapps I sometimes ended up in a bootloop because some parts of GApps were missing despite them flashing successfully in TWRP. Force rebooting and flashing them again fixed that. It is yet to be determined if this is a ROM or a TWRP issue but I am working with @mauronofrio on fixing the issue.
