Don't want to sync Gmail Contacts

Hi There!
I want to stop my i9000 syncing contacts with my GMAIL Account. In fact I want to turn off email and calendar syncing as well. I run Stock ROM.
Also how do I turn off the sweep glass, and change it for something like a pull down like on the htc mini?
Where can I find the settings for the ADW Launcher, seems good in some ways but limited in others. I can't create a shortcut to contacts for example.

disconnect from internet wifi etc
settings
accounts and sync
make sure background data and auto sync are ticked
tap on your gmail account
untick contacts and calendar, leave mail ticked
exit and re-enable internet wifi etc
not sure about the other two requests... I use a lock pattern for unlock

What is a lock pattern?
I have done that as per your instructions thank you. That worked.
Can I also know how I can make sync occur over wifi if available? Better still sync every 5 minutes on wifi, and manually on 3g? Also how do I turn off 3g?

[Q] auto sync selected apps

is it possible to auto sync certain apps only? the whole list in the Account and Sync settings can be enabled or disabled. but i want only one or two apps to auto sync. thanks
i think i got it. we need to go to each individual app in (Accounts and Sync) and un-check Sync (calendar, msgs, contacts etc etc..) which ever app u need sync leave it all checked.. hope this works

[Q] - How to adjust the sync frequency of certain things

Hi there,
when i set up my phone, I turned off auto sync for things like, Gmail contacts/gmail calendar/dropbox etc.
but I havent found a quick easy app to sync these by pressing a simple button yet. (is there one? my desire had a widget you could press)
So, i now want to change the sync frequency of my calendar and contacts yet i cant find a way to do it. can you help?
if i go to settings > Accounts > google
is there a way to change how often it syncs?

I write here, because in my family i have 4 smartphone and only my Xperia Z[4.3,no root] have this problem
I have turn off:
Automatic BackUp sync
Google+ photo Sync
Google+ sync
but for some reason, they turn ON automatically!
Whyyyyy!!!!
I have already reinstalled google play service but the problem persist
Any solutions?

Go to settings, and find your gmail account and turn sync off, or try to turn off Auto-sync.

In my google account i need to sync gmail and calendar.
i turn off sync for g+ and g+ photo but when i reboot the phone or when i switch from wifi to data, they will turn ON

AutoSync problems

Hello folks!
I'm facing issues with the Auto Sync feature on my N9, I try all possible ways to desactivate the Auto sync for the apps, in the seetings and in the quick toggles... but nothing works, after a few minutes, Auto-synchronization is activated again by it self. I try to delete the cache from the recovery but not works.
Any suggestions?
