AutoSync problems - Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Questions & Answers

Hello folks!
I'm facing issues with the Auto Sync feature on my N9, I try all possible ways to desactivate the Auto sync for the apps, in the seetings and in the quick toggles... but nothing works, after a few minutes, Auto-synchronization is activated again by it self. I try to delete the cache from the recovery but not works.
Any suggestions?

Calendar Sync Duration

Is there a way to extend the duration of time that the calendar is synced with G1. I am noticing that only the past 2 months of appointments are showing up on G1.
Mine syncs everything all the time. Have you tried forcing a sync by unchecking the "automatic sync" check box and then pressing the calendar option below it to force the sync?

Thanks for the reply. But that did not work. Whatever I try only approximately the past 76 days will sync.
I have tried clearing calendar data under manage applications, I have completely wiped and reinstalled different ROMs. But this problem remains.

Try playing around with settings on Google itself, off a computer. There might be some option somewhere to sync up, or change public/private. Poking buttons always helps

[Q] Gmail stopt updating

I have a problem that i wrote about in googles forum and got an answer that not worked for me, so i try here...
After i updated to Android 2,2 my Gmail and my twitter has stop syncing as it should.
My Gmail syncs for a while but then stops, and when i go to the gmail app and press refresh then the new mail comes up. For getting it works for a couple of days i have to go to settings, applications, manage applications and gmail, and there i have to clear data and cache. Then it works for a couple of days then stops again.
The answer i got is:
You can try the following for the gmail issue:
"So, to get my "connection" back:
1) Go into the settings menu for the phone
2) Choose applications
3) Choose Manage Applications
4) Under Manage Applications set the Filter to ALL. Not sure why this isn't the default but c'est la vie.
5) Scroll down and choose GMail Storage
6) Tap the botton for Clear Data
7) Head on over into GMail and VOILA!"
The problem for me is that i not have a GMail Storage..
Anyone else got the same problem?
Any solutions?

[Q] [Help] Calendar stuck syncing, freezes phone if opened

Hi all,
I'm running SpeedMod Kernel and stock Froyo 2.2.1. I did have Darky's ROM installed, but I've reset all caches, reformatted all things reformattable and reinstalled stock firmware (though not stock kernel... where does one find that!?).
Anyhow, the issue is (and I've done 5 factory resets so far, same problem each time) that when I set up my Google account, the phone endlessly syncs the calendar (little icon displayed on task bar and icon next to calendar in sync settings rotating). If you try to open the calendar app itself the entire phone hangs and you have to force restart. Also if I leave it for a while and come back it has frozen and needs to be forced to restart. It never stops syncing the calendar...
Has anyone encountered this problem and/or has a solution.
On a possibly related note, some of my appointments in Google Calendar have disappeared... did the phone delete them in it's mental sync antics?
This is really starting to annoy me...!
Thanks for your help!
PS. I have also tried clearing the data in the Calendar and related sync apps in app manager. Can it be that I have so much Google Calendar data to sync? It's been syncing on wifi for over 3 hours now... but Calendar app shows 0 kb, Calendar data shows about 300 kb and Calendar sync helper things shows 200 kb or so....
UPDATE: I've seen others on other forums having this trouble, even without mucking about with firmwares. Their suggested (and often successful) solution was to clear all caches and data and take the battery out for some time to let things discharge. I've done this... and the problem persists. Does anyone know if you can contact Google and have them look at the server side to see if something has snarled up there?
Any help appreciated!

CyanogenMod 7 RC3 mail app

Hi,
I have just installed CyanogenMod 7 RC3 0.07-11.03.04.
Overall this ROM is quite ok but I have one problem.
I am using APN On Off from CurveFish to enable/disable data on the phone.
The widget itself works ok, but e-mail stops to sync data after few times of enable/disable data.
I have tried to do a manual sync but no luck. I have killed the e-mail app and opened again but same thing - no sync.
The only thing that fix this is a total reboot.
Same thing is happening if I disbale/enable data using standard phone menu ( settings-> Wireless and networks ->mobile networks-> data enabled).
any idea somebody ?
br
Have you tried flightmode on/off after that problem?
Has fixed a lot of random data problems for me.

How to enable Auto-Sync?

The issue started with Chrome bookmarks not syncing to the phone. So i went to Chrome>Settings and found out that "Sync isn't working" . So next i went to Account settings, but i couldn't find a auto-sync option there. Just a Sync now option regarding various account components (Calendar, Chrome, Contacts, etc). After syncing every component, my bookmarks still weren't synced to the phone.
After more research online i learned that Auto-Sync has to be enabled for Chrome to sync correctly. But i can't find from where to enable auto-sync. Everybody said from Settings>Data Usage, but there is no Data Usage menu anywhere. I also checked every menu and sub menu under Settings, and no Auto-Sync option.
Android version is 7.0 and build EVA-L19C432B386.
On my P9 it's like this:
Go to Settings, open "Accounts", tap on "Google" and choose what you want to sync.
Did that, does not work
Unfortunately i can't add screenshots yet (not enough posts) but i went exactly there and pressed the "Sync now" button at the bottom. It began to sync each component (a rotating sync icon appeared besides each) and when it finished i opened back Chrome, but no bookmarks.
A difference would be that in my case underneath each component it says "Auto-sync off, touch to sync", but this is because the Auto-sync option is globally turned off. I think i first have to enable it, and then the sync option from Accounts>Google will work too.
I looked at my P9, and the auto-sync can be enabled in Settings > Accounts > three dots in the right corner. Note that when the energysavingsmode is enabled, it is not possible to enable the auto-sync option.
I hope this helps
Yeap, that was the problem; power saving mode was enabled.
Very good solution
Yes , that's right. You can not turn on Auto sync while power saving is on. First, you should turn it off.
Thanks allot.
Thanks mate

I stumbled upon this myself too on Mate 10 Pro; Google not being able to sync and thus missing bookmarks in chrome. It was regardless of power saving mode. For email I use stock email app. Always when I open the app, a message appears that auto sync is turned off. Only when I enabled auto sync from here ("press here to enable auto sync") , is Google sync able to run.
