Hi,
I have just installed CyanogenMod 7 RC3 0.07-11.03.04.
Overall this ROM is quite ok but I have one problem.
I am using APN On Off from CurveFish to enable/disable data on the phone.
The widget itself works ok, but e-mail stops to sync data after few times of enable/disable data.
I have tried to do a manual sync but no luck. I have killed the e-mail app and opened again but same thing - no sync.
The only thing that fix this is a total reboot.
Same thing is happening if I disbale/enable data using standard phone menu ( settings-> Wireless and networks ->mobile networks-> data enabled).
any idea somebody ?
br
Have you tried flightmode on/off after that problem?
Has fixed a lot of random data problems for me.

Hi all, I have been using mssmison's Eclair build on my vogue for the past two months, and have run up 100mb+ data useage, where on winmo I was only using 10-12mb.
I have activesync, calendar, and contacts for exchange sync turned on, as this is my work phone and I require these.
I also had google gmail account registered, but set to not sync anything.
No additional applications were installed over the base build. No web browsing or tethering etc, no web or GPS useage - phone has been used exclusively for email/calendar/contacts/phone calls.
Is there any way of finding out where the data useage is leaking? Does android phone home? Is the exchange sync not working very well, and resending/resyncing lots of data? (this is my suspicion based on exchange sync performance).
I've had to switch back to winmo due to the restrictive data plan I'm on for work, which is very frustrating.
Has anyone with the exchange stuff configured experienced a similar jump in data useage?

I would recommend a few things:
-Turn off data via the modem app when you're not using it (which you probably don't want to do since you constantly need exchange available I assume).
-Search the market for a data monitoring app for a better insight on what's using your data.
-Go into Settings>Security and Location. Uncheck the "Use wireless networks" and "Share with Google" boxes. I believe this can cause some extra data usage.
-Turn off Background Data and/or Auto Sync in the settings as well. Once again, you may not want to do this if you want exchange available constantly, but you could try just manually syncing/sending/downloading when necessary to minimize excess data usage.
Hope some of this can help! Good luck.
Hi Guys,
I noticed all the data syncs (google syncs in particular like GoMarks, then a currency program i have ) going on with galaxy s (froyo) - if i turn data comm off - it doesnt sync via wifi.
comparing with iphone - you could have all sync via wifi.
Am I doing something wrong ?
Thx
not sure what is wrong with your phone, if anything.
but my calendar, emails, phone book and other stuff syncs normally when i'm on WiFi
check your settings perhaps?
did you install any app that might give you some choices related to that?
It may be that your wifi has not all ports open.
sync uses gtalk for the push notifications. Check if you can connect to gtalk when on wifi.

Hello,
I am unable to use Facebook on my Data Package provided by my Network Provider (Du). It was working since 6 days back though. When I try teethering (mobile hotspot connection), same appears on client mobiles. It works over VPN. I tried inserting same SIM in HTC mobile and Facebook worked there. Any idea why? I can't upload picture since I have less then 10 posts here.
Best Regards,
Maaz

So you go into mobile data, then APN settings. Go into both the WAP and Internet APNs, and I noticed that there was a proxy and port set. I cleared both of them, and wola! it works!
Do this and let us know if it worked: Settings -> Mobile Networks ->Access Point Names-> More -> Reset To Defaults -> Restart Phone -> and get the new APN settings or manually add the APN settings of your service provider.
I solved it with older titanium backup file of previos FB version. Now it is working. If I update FB on google play store, error - so, roll it back TY Titanium backup!

I don't want to do this. I am using straight talk and I don't want to reset the APN, as it will got o ATT defaults instead of the Straighttalk changes.
I'm on the dev rom(non-rooted) and just got the MIUI 10 a few weeks ago and since then the data restriction setting for GMAIL has enabled and I can't get it to stay off...so I only get GMAIL notifications when on WIFI. In Data Useage>System Apps>Gmail on the first screen mobile data slider is on(as are the other two) but when I go into App settings mobile data is restricted....if i turn the restriction off and go back to the first screen mobile data is disabled. Please help.
Hello folks!
I'm facing issues with the Auto Sync feature on my N9, I try all possible ways to desactivate the Auto sync for the apps, in the seetings and in the quick toggles... but nothing works, after a few minutes, Auto-synchronization is activated again by it self. I try to delete the cache from the recovery but not works.
Any suggestions?
