Didn't recommend Max Pro M1 to any relatives even though I really wanted to. The standby drain issues killed everything else about that awesome phone. I hope this one doesn't have faulty fingerprint sensor leading to unaacptable drain.
Yesterday night, the battery was 16% and when I wake up to went 6%, because I think the reason the ambient display is ON and all the time, I am getting some messages from messengers groups. Today, I will try without ambient display and then see what will happen.

What the **** 2 and a half day with 9.5hrs screen on time what the **** bro what were you doing ..with 15% battery remaining i can never believe that i am using same phone and getting 5-6hra screen on time.. confused
For those wuth standby battery drain, i will recommend using Naptime to you. I used to have around 1 percent drop in every 1-1.5 hour standby, but after using aggressive doze on naptime, there's almost no drop overnight.
I also got this problem. after i charged my phone to 100% it drains to 3-5% in sleep mode. after the .179 update I got this annoying problem.
*EDIT*
I tried to turn off mobile data and done! i resolved my problem.
My drain is extremely high even on hardly any usage

Without any usage = phone modem (depends on signal strength, mobile data etc..) + background apps and processes
This is my stand by drain over night (with wifi/mobile data/ bluetooth off & brightness minimum)
Sim 1 : Vodafone (on 2g)
Sim 2 : Jio ( on 4g VoLTE)
Battrey drain,

Once I used the fast charger of Moto G6 for a full charge. Since then, I feel that my Asus Max Pro M2 has been draining battery very fast!!!!
I have tried wipe cache partition and wipe data from recovery.....still the issue seems to persist.
I have installed ArrowOS 9....and rooted my phone. What can be the possible solution??

Yeah, i'm still a bit neurotic with this :silly:
it depends, what are you doing with active screen? when i play coc my battery goes down fast.

Doesn't matter what he is doing. He cannot calculate the right consume of the battery just by see how long it go down 4%. The system did not set up properly yet and maybe he using at the same time, WiFi, Bluetooth and so on.

You will need to see a complete cycle before you can assume that you have battery drain, like how much it goes down if left overnight, I personally only lose 1 - 2% overnight which is about right. But the second you fire up a game it will munch you battery, same as can be said for Wifi when downloading or setting up your phone, so if this is the first time you've used the handset, it's more than likely a little premature to say what your battery life is going to be like, give it a week and then see where your average 100% battery charge gets you, by all accounts a day and a half to two days is quite normal according to some users on XDA, but then that would depend on the user.
One thing I did find with the Z1 was that when gaming the average battery use is little higher than I was used to with previous phones.
You could try underclock your processor (I have clocked my processor at 1.5 Ghz) it will save you some battery. In addition you could try undervoltage but you must be extremely careful with voltages as very low could unstable your phone and very high can fry your phone (if you are newbie do not try it ).
These are some ideas it is your choice if you follow any of them not mine.

I'm not gonna ask any questions about why batteries drop so fast because i figured that out. Now my battery's draining 1.5%/hour on idle. That's good. The problem is whenever I use my phone continuously for an hour or so, there would be a major significant battery drop when I reboot it. I tried waiting for the battery to recalibrate but it doesn't. Not to mention an average use would eat my battery by 10%/hour or more. Other than that, whenever I let my phone on idle until it's at 40-30%, the battery level suddenly goes to 1% when I use it and my phone would shut down.
I am using Greenify donation version, and Amplify.

I have same problem. Well, not exactly the same, but similar
When I reboot my phone, my battery drop about 25%-40%. For example, it drops from 40% to 15%. After that, my battery drains normally to 1%(for example after 1 hour of SoT) and that last 1% last for 1.5-2 hours of SoT It's so crazy
I also have a Xperia V

On stock, 0 to 1 % overnight.
Rooted with xposed 1 to 2% overnight.
Pretty good I'd say. [emoji16]
I had a fully charged 10 with viper with elemental x kernel off the charger all night. I have lots of syncing accounts and only lost a couple percentages. better than I was thinking it was going to be. I also used it all day long streaming music and other normal usage and around 12am that night still has 30% left. after things settle down battery life gets way better, it seems the first day or 2 after setting everything up its pretty bad.
I would say its rather 1% each our per night

It's pretty confusing. When the phone battery is at higher levels, it drains much faster. For example, I recharged the battery at 7 pm yesterday and used it for 6 hours (here and there and it fot to 15%. Then i slept through the night and only 3 or 4% battery power was used. Wifi was on

It won't be 4g and wifi. It'll be an app or apps. Anything with a large footprint which can take advantage of wifi will use it. For example, email, Facebook etc. Anything like that, wifi alone won't use very much at all.

0.6%/hr (phone starts at 78%).
I just turn off the screen and set the phone down as I sleep. If the phone had been plugged in then it might only drop 1% in the 6-7 hours I sleep but the gauge isn't accurate from 90-100%

1% through the night? You have auto-sync off? Please if you tell us what is your setup, what apps you run in the background, etc..? I never have less than 1%/h... :/
Hi,
Last night my battery went from 69% to 49% over 6 houres.. With everything on. Not bluetooth.
There where no apps that showed large use, so I was confused. After reading about wifi drain issues on the 10, I turned on flight mode as I went to work for 8 houres (phone was at home). It lost 3-4%.. That's a huge difference from last night. Also the WiFi bar isn't showing anymore in battery stats. It also seems that it uses less battery when being used.. Before it could drop 1% every 2-3 minute, now it seems better.
So for me it seems to be some kind of trouble with wifi. Will charge to 100% and check over night only on 4g.

Hi,
After the upgrade some 4-6 weeks back to EMUI 4.0.3
Android Version: 6.0
Build Number: ALE-L21C185B574
The battery is draining so fast than i need to charge every 12 hours approx. Before the upgrade, battery life is around 21-22 hours.
Another issue, phone is heating up fast while charging or in use
hi
i am on omni rom 7.1.2 thanks to the developpers i had an issue with battery life 3 months after ( my P8 lite is more than 2 years old)
battery decreasing in 12 hours
i ordered and install a new battery ( the same as original) but i still have the same problem.
i'm asking myself and maybe other users , developpers , is there something in the boot rom to program the phone to drain battery after 2 years ? ( as apple did)

No overnight battery drain here enabled night time wakelock blocker or something i can't exactly remember.

Battery drain is a bad experience now on this phone. Night stand by is now 5% per hour. On official rom I got 0% but now I tried many roms , battery backup got ruined.
I don't know which optimizations you people use but my setup drains less than 2% overnight. Specifically, I frequently get 1% drain every 3 hours on idle with data off. I'm on smallEUI v3 with illusion kernel v2.5. I use greenify, and package disabler, have tweaked build.prop, kernel, and thermals.

Yeah, now I'm using smallEUI v3 with illusion kernel 2.5. The lazyplug governor on illusion 3 is not well implemented and I haven't found a way to make it behave. I also switched to kernel adiutor because the problems I had with it earlier were caused by illusion kernel v3. Kernel adiutor is more intuitive than EXKM IMO.
Taking screenshots of build prop seems a bit cumbersome so I've attached my entire file. I haven't gone too crazy with tweaks on this one because tweaking too much used to cause weird battery drain and it would have taken too much effort to find the cause. This one has bare minimums. The tweaks I removed were mostly gaming-related so you won't miss much there. My tweaks are at the very bottom after #added tweaks
I've also included my thermal prop if you'd like to increase threshold slightly. My phone gaming performance is now very stable and it doesn't heat much. In fact I think it heats less than with stock thermal config in smallEUI. Anyway, you shouldn't use it if you don't have to. If you choose to use it, put it in /system/etc folder. Back up and replace the stock one and change permission to -rw-r--r-- Changing thermal config file doesn't cause excessive battery drain and gives you more room to play with the phone with less throttling.
