You have two choices. You can downgrade with this tool (this tool doesn't just do downgrading, you can do a lot with this tool including installing the play store.) or you can use this method

Here's a little warning that forgot about. The tool That I listed if you used the remove Amazon apps feature, it will delete the default launcher, Amazon photos ( its required to change the lock screen wallpaper), and the web browser

i mean 5.3 and it says for 5.4?

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini SM-G730A downgrade to older android firmware? 2.2

i have a s3 mini phone that has a very new model (g730a) that looks like nobody else on the internet has. there are no threads on this entire forum about this model number, and i am trying to downgrade the stock firmware, 4.2.2, to a very old firmware, 2.2 (froyo), is there any way of doing this? (this phone was bought from an at&t store) how do people even downgrade? where do they get their downloads from?
if there is "no way" of me doing this easily by downloading something, how can i do it myself?
really need some help with this, thanks!

why would you want to downgrade?
i just think froyo looks cool, and i see it still functions with the play store and that. i've heard of cyanogen mod or whatever it's called yet don't know what it is nor how to use it. i am brand new to this android world. was told that this site had everything
Device was not here when froyo was so you will never be able to downgrade. It came with jb, so that's what you will have.

Try the "one-click-root" that someone posted in general. It might work. Then you can take a look on what's inside, and maybe have a recovery built.

You CAN install any android version that is older that you want, but it isn't created for the device. So somebody would need to develop drivers for it to work on the particular version of android.
Short answer: No you can't do it
Long answer: It can be done but a skilled person would need to develop drivers to make it work.
In this day and age creating drivers to downgrade from 4.1 to 2.2 it's not worth the time it takes.

None of the Root methods for the D415 aren't working

I recently got this phone repaired from LG and I just got it back, only problem is that I can't root this device no thanks to that recent system update used to fixed my phone. I tried towelroot that obviously didn't work, so I tried purpledrake that didn't work when the phone went to recovery All I saw was a blank black image that's it, and up top of that my Google play music app keeps silently closing out especially when I turn the screen off, can't really play too many games especially Asphalt airborne it force closes, and when I try to move my apps to the SD card most of the time it doesn't even work........ Please help with this!! Please I'm losing my mind over this man.
Same
Im having the same problem! It sucks butt!!
Waiting for a new method, i've tried all known ones with no luck, towelroot, towelpieroot, root master, stump root, z4, purpledrake, weak sauce and so on, no luck seems all known exploits have been patched, the only thing you can do at the moment is downgrade to d41510c the root like always, would do it my self as there were no major changes in the update but waiting to get access to a pc.
Edit: sorry the only method i mention i haven't tried is purpledrake as you need a pc for it but so far eveyone has said it doesn't work.

The only method at the moment is use the lg flash tool and downgrade to d41510c then root with towelroot as usual, on d41510e currently there is no method, the whole update was an exploit fix and pretty much thats all it did for us was fix any known exploits we use. I've been following threads for other devices because they have bounties for an exploit and root method but they're still working at it, alot of the samsung devices got locked up as well. A major change in android L which they got was major exploit fixes, pretty sure that where this whole lg update idea cane from, just we didnt get android 5.0.
Same goes for nexus devices which got the update first, currently they have to root by flashing a modified kernel. I follow the verizon note 4 thread, they have a bounty for an exploit and root method, hope it may help us. Chances are it may not though.
Also nexus and some note 4s use the cf-auto-root method which auto matically flashes and roots for them, that method is device spacific to file needed to download to use it, and requires a pc.

So basicly i have to downgrade? How do i do it do i just look it up on google?
Follow this guide here just use the d41510c firmware instead of d41510e
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2803479
There's places posted to get the correct one in the threads here just can't find it right off hand. There should be a couple posts about it if you go to the LG Optimus l90 support Web page you'll get the d41510e which is the incorrect one.
Here is the website for the d41510c download.

Just went to the library to see if I can do it my self, wasn't sure because of public computers security if I could, since I have to install drivers and etc it may not let me but was going to give it shot, my luck they're closed, wondering if any one knows if I'll have any luck with that or will the computers security not allow me.

Yes works for t-mobile, have t-mobile my s elf but no cant upgrade again, until some one releases a rooted version of v0e have to stay on v10c. Heres a method to get knock code while still on v10c. That is really the only change between the to besides the root patch fixes.
They have released the source for d410 so hopefully we should be looking at a lollipop upgrade for d415 some time in the future, hoping sooner than later. Till then i wouldnt worry about the upgrade to v10e.

Depend which kdz, uf you use the v10e kdz you cant root. Have to use the v10c kdz to root. Knock on code is a new lock screen method implemented in the v10e update, its not necessary just a mod put together for people who want it while staying on v10c so they can root. It alot like tap to wake you use a series of taps, 4 to 8 in a square box thats devided into 4 sections, i prefer it because unlike other lock screen methods you can use it while screen is off like double tap and it just opens to yur home screen. I alsi think its more secure than some other methods.

ME TOO! I'm such a noob, i don't even know if i know how to do a post, but i just downgraded to "10c" and rooted with towelroot and it was very simple. worked like a charm. hmmm what next? unlock the bootloader? install twrp?
thanks to all for the info!
If your bootloader is not already unlocked (which is the case for the L90s with the most recent update apparently), after rooting, follow the information found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-l90/general/guide-unlock-bootloader-t-mobile-l90-t2836457
Make sure you follow the steps explicitly.

Why do you need a unlocked bootloader? I didn't install TWRP because I just wanted some modifications.... but I'm sure there's twrp for this device!
Enjoy!!
The only real reason to unlock the bootloader and install cwm or twrp is to have a full backup...just in case. Also, for when they start making more ROMs for this device.

Debloat

Hey ya'll, is there a zip out there that can just debloat the AT&T Galaxy S5? I just upgraded to 5.0 using Muniz_ri's ROM, but still has a bunch of AT&T and Google bloat that I'm looking to get rid of. Any and all suggestions are much appreciated.
I posted these with alliancerom. They will work. As far as removing ATT bloat I'm not sure. @jasonj711 may be able to help you out when he gets the chance. Got to this post it will show u what apps the debloat will debloat. The Google one will take the Google stuff but I will have to make u one for the att. I can combine them for u after I get the att made so u will just need 1 debloted.

Just let me know which debloted u want me to use and tell me which apps on the list u wanna keep if there are any that u might actually use. For me I don't use any Google stuff other then the maps app. So I took that off my debloat. When I get home I'll look into the att stuff cause i don't have them on my phone so I will have to flash back to stock Muniz_ri's ROM so I know the correct file names.

If u could possibly download rom toolbox lite and go to app manager and find both polaris and uber and click them and swipe to app info and then click show more and there will be a apk file path. Can u tell me which path both are in? It will either be system/app or system/priv-app also on that line will be the full apk name can u tell me that as well. Caps and lines count has to be exact.
Sorry tm5.0 already has those removed in his debloated rom edition so I would have to flash back to stock and I am not at home to redownload it. Gotta love being at the in law's for the night and having no reception :/

SM-N9200 HK version root?

Hey guys, do any of you know if we have root already for this version for Note5?
I found this the other day:

But... I don't speak Chinese and I don't know that website so I'm not risking it. Would love to get a root on my HK SM-N9200 as well.

Thanks bro. I don't think I will risk it either. There are also no comments there that confirm that it works...
At the moment I don't have a real reason to root, but i'm sure I'll need it in the future. Hopefully we will have it soon.
Good luck!

Since you have the N9200 as well, could you do me a massive favor? I'm really dissatisfied with the scrolling behavior on mine. I've made a thread about it in the General section.
Could you let me know what software version you are on? Have updated to the latest one (N9200ZHU1AOI1)? But most importantly: do you notice stuttering behaviour in scrolling through apps like Google Play store, Youtube, Facebook etc...?
You can capture the behavior by following the steps described in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note5/general/note-5-scrolling-behaviour-t3195672.
Thanks in advance!

No problem, I'll try to get to it as soon as I get home, Going to Uni now.
Though I must say that I dont really use those apps because I live In china. If I use them I have to open Astrill VPN. I just Tried it with facebook, and it seems pretty smooth, except when it loads new content because of Chinas great firewall.
(Im also on the new version, but today I tried the "Package debloat" app from the Q&A section and disabled 150 or so apps)
So does anyone found any clue for N9200 root (OI1 firm) ???
Still no :\
@Seven Winds @tisfo @Willyman just got my device, im on it.
got twrp so far..
roots next..
then arter's kernel with dual sim intact..
Edit:
current progress and planned
unlock bootloader
install twrp
backup everything
reboot
notice GAPPS get removed when you unlock
verify my knox container still works (says KNOX has been locked contact your IT admin need to change lock type)
flash stock n9200 kernel with ',verify' removed (aka allows system to be mounted and modified, without this change a kernel cant boot a rooted system)
reboot and verify knox container still works (same message)
flash gapps reboot and verify
flashing back gapps didnt restore everything i was missing (looked like every app i downloaded from play store was also removed), so i reflashed the stock system i pulled out of odin tarball
restoring data
Damn im glad I backedup everything as soon as I got recovery, first boot after unlocked BTloader, it was next reboot that it deleted all my data ( so after reinstalling stock system and restoring my data, everything is back to how it was)
*** im here ***
twrp su root
reboot and verify knox container still works
flash arter kernel that I merged n9200 sources for dual sim support
reboot and test
(ii know knox wont work with any other customer kernel (i really want knox workspace with custom roms and plan on making it work)
Thank you gundal for your hard work!
I am using n9200 HK version. And I rooted my note 5 already!
Thanks for my friend in China, he helped me a lot and everything works fine.
I also installed xposed framework in my note 5.
Can you please share links to the files you've used? I tried to install twrp via Odin and I'm getting error RQT_Close and the phone writes something in chinese in the download mode.
Any customer ROM for dual sim yet?

I always use Samsung stock rom only and the root file worked for my note 5.
Have you ever unlocked CRom of your note 5 before?
No I didn't. How do I do that?

But... I don't speak Chinese and I don't know that website so I'm not risking it. Would love to get a root on my HK SM-N9200 as well.

You now can see a lot of replies of that website, and these replies were all from the same person, that was me.
I also got his contact by other chat app. And now I have a perfect root file for n9200 now!
Do you want to try it?

Never mind. So do you want to try root your note 5 n9200?
if so, I would give you my root file and the CROM unlocker apk for you.
No Deep sleep problem and USB debugging problem already!

I am new in xda forum. Should I open a new thread and post the n9200 root guide?
Or just do it right here inside this thread?
Sorry for my poor English because I come from Hong Kong.

A lot of posts are refers to the pingpong root, however, I was not able to root my device with this tool. It says - no data for your device, stay tuned....
As of the first or.second Ota, root was essentially dead for the S6

read somewhere they achieved to get the s7 rooted...any hopes of that making it to our phones...All I want is to edit the damn host file!!!

Getting a 404 error for that link
The link works for me, so I'm not sure what happened. Here's the post.
Hmm. Even if it showed which software version this was verified on, not sure if I'd be brave enough to try. But thanks for the update!

Kingroot thread: I don't any posts about Galaxy S6 users having tried it:. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3107461

Kingroot facebook page:
Kingroot‬ update to 4.9.3 (15th june 2016)
The latest version supports more devices with Android OS Marshmallow this time (16th june 2016) and g925v is not on the list
Kingroot‬ conquers more! (28th june 2016)??
I also get the error trying to load the google plus page, as stated above though they did post that same picture on their facebook page .
There is a comment on that picture by a facebook user saying "Samsung S6 Edge (SM-G925V) is not supported as it says in this post.".
To be fair theres no mention to whether this user tried Android 6.0.0 or 5.1.1 or whatever so it does not completely destroy all hope of Kingroot working, but it certaintly doesn't help
I think that you might have to be a member of the Kingroot Fans Club G+ community in order to use the link in my prior post. I apologize for not having thought of that.

That was my comment! I decided to give it a try and see if it worked. I downloaded the APK version to my phone and it just gave me an error message. I haven't gotten the chance to try the desktop version yet as I only have a Macbook and my Windows PC is still at home. I had hoped if I commented on the Facebook page that someone from Kingroot would have gotten back to me. They didn't. I'll keep everyone in the loop if I make anymore headway on it.

Fingers crossed the new version works! I've heard mixed reviews about the Kingroot though. Have you ever used it?
I've used it for a different phone and it worked fine. I downloaded the windows exe but it was in chinese so i couldn't figure out how to work it. The apk said our phone isn't supported
