I tried it and in any custom rom, Google Pay is not working. Magisk Hide is no use either.
Will it work in Xiaomi EU or even offciail Miui?
I don't want to flash fastboot miui and lock my bootloader. I am happy to live without root if it means I don't have to lock my bootloader.
Any help is appreciated.

Switch off telephone permission for Google play services before using Google pay. It will work. Its headache but that's a solution. Im talking about pie roms
I had LOS 14, now I have LOS 16 with magisk and on both Google Pay is working.
I'd like to recommend "openGapps" to you and just download a zip package specialized for your system and flash it via TWRP. Your system will not be rooted but you need to unlock fastboot though. Also, OTA update might be affected.

I have Indian Redmi K20 Pro. I am thinking of unlocking the bootloader and installing some custom rom.
Is there any unsolvable permanent issue possible due to unlocking? I have read about some issues with sensors, Widewine L1 certification etc.
Its completely safe to unlock the bootloader, follow any tutorial on YouTube and follow the instructions. If you're phone gets bricked in fastboot mode you can reflash stock rom and lock the bootloader again using mi tool.
Go with gut, theres first time for everything.
I have been using custom roms and rooting my devices since 2016 and I love to flash plethora of roms.
I'm using evolution X with immensity kernel and phone is smooth as slime.

Thanks for the input. What is your experience with the banking (and other such apps) on custom roms?

Banking apps don't work on most roms as unlocked bootloader and root is detected by the apps by reading phone state via app permissions in android. Don't root/Unlock bootloader if you have only one android phone as you will not be able to use banking financial apps. There are several workarounds to this but still it is not advised to root/unlock bootloader if you are not comfortable with this issue.

I am comfortable with the workarounds. I have used rooted phones in the past. The question is: Do the workarounds (magisk hide etc.) actually work reliably? This is my only phone.

I haven't faced any problems with banking apps in evolution X without root.
If you root your mobile you can hide using magisk manager- magisk hide and rename the magisk to any other name (in the hide option)
And if you still face a problem you can use this app called ISLAND in playstore, it creates a dual space in rom and you can use banking apps there.
Using PE (Plus edition) on my K20 pro (Indian version) with all the UPI and banking apps working (I'm not rooted, by the way) without a single issue. Widevine is L1 (not sure how Xiaomi devices are able to retain WVL1 even after unlocking BL and flashing custom ROMs. Devices from other manufacturers such as 1+, Realme, Oppo, Samsung, LG break WV as soon as you unlock the BL).

I have successfully unlocked the bootloader with no apparent issues. L1 certification is working. No apps detect the system as rooted or insecure.
I am using Pixel Experience with OrangeFox recovery. I didn't flash magisk.

Using unlocked bootloader phone asap after buying. Used root too with all banking apps as well as other all types of applications running smooth with magisk hide.
I hv used bliss os... Evolution... But presently on latest miui stable build for multi window feature and better systemwide dark mode preformance.

I have a Mi11 with a preliminary Global official ROM but it's rooted and of course bootloader in unlocked: unfortunately Google Pay and some bank apps do not work.
I first removed root, by deleting /system/xbin/su but Google Pay still complains so I think I need to unlock bootloader.
I think I have two options:
- 1 - put phone in fastboot and run "fastboot oem lock" from adb
- 2 - use Mi Flash tool to flash an official ROM and choose "clean all and lock"
What would be the best?
Do I loose data with both or either methods?
I've read that method 2 may put the phone in an unusable state...
Thanks

Where can I get this official global ROM for the Mi 11? Or do you mean xiaomi.eu? What I know is if you flash a different ROM than the original one with the bootloader open and close the bootloader again, you have a brick.

You cannot it's a test device and got it sorted out with Xiaomi engineer: being a test rom, locking bootloader will make phone unusable. Now O have to unlock it and keep it like it is till official build arrives. In the meantime I could try with magisk hide

Is there a official global Rom for MI 11? Shure?
There are 2 ways:
1. Use Magisk and Hide Root and Unlock from apps you need, worked for me at MI 10 Ultra with xiaomi.eu-Rom
2. Relock Bootloader, but keep an eye on the fact, that relock is only possible with original delivered ROM, otherwise your phone will be bricked...
and after relock you will not be able to flash any rom, so, please flash first and do relock after flashing rom
Regards
Michael

No official ROM: I have a test global device with a test global ROM.
ANyhow all is solved: I installed xiaomi.eu and all is working fine...
Hi,
I have a Chinese Mi 11 Ultra. I have used the Mi flash tool to flash the EU based version of the ROM but I did not lock the bootloader. This has brought in some problems, such as GPay not working, which I dont really mind but the Mcdonalds app with the coupons also wont start up.
I am wondering, if I get the EU miui13 fastboot rom (original from Xiaomi), and use the mi flash tool to flash it, can I also lock the bootloader? Will it be fine or will it brick the device?
I believe this answers your question: https://c.mi.com/thread-2584760-1-1.html
The TLDR is you can only lock bootloader in China devices if you flash the China ROM. Some people claim to have successfully flashed China ROMs on Glogal phones and locked the bootloader without any issues but you'd be taking a risk.

Hi, Thanks for the answer. Guess I cant lock the bootloader then. Do you know of anyway to get the services working that require a locked bootloader? Iirc it's to so with safetynet but I cant remember if it was possible to overcome this with magisk. I havent been on the rooting scene for a long time so I didnt follow any updates

You don't need to...I use gpay and banking software whilst rooted and with mods installed.
Just install the universal safety net fix module for Magisk and systemless, click on zygisk as well.
Then you're done
Thanks for the replies guys but I really want a stock android with no root or mods. Just wanna know if I can relock the bootloader without bricking.
Thanks

If you have root right now. You need to go to magisk and tap unistall. Then full uninstall. Phone will reboot. Just to be safe. Then you can lock the bootloader.
hi guys ,
i want to make my oneplus 10 pro 2213 model back to store condition
how can i lock the bootloader?
i cant find any answer anywhere and im not sure if fastboot enhancer is the solution
my device is fully work btw
thanks
it's highly recommended that you don't do that. Most of the devices I've seen get brincked in that operation.
But if you wanna proceed with that, you have to flash the stock image back again, there must be no changed image (boot, recovery, system...).
And then you can run the command "fastboot flashing lock"
what about msm tool
anyway to do that with the tool ?
There is no tool current available to O10PRO, all there is require username and password.
A lot of people, myself included, are waiting for a msm tool so we can fix our devices.
OK
so if my bootloader is unlocked any problem for gpay ota ect?
It may not work .. Netflix doesn't work for example. Gpay as I don't use can't say for sure

No unlocking the bootloader will not effect gpay or any other banking app. Now if you are rooted then yes gpay and banking apps will not work. You will have to use Magisk to fix that.
Well I'm not sure

That could be the difference between the 2213 and 2215. I got my 15 from OnePlus carrier unlocked. That's the first thing I did was unlock the bootloader. Now my gpay, paypal and my banking apps all work. I'm not rooted yet I'm just waiting on a full rom update to get the boot.img. But I see that OnePlus is going to post oxygenOS 13 today. I might check it out. OnePlus has really done a number to the 10 this time. As for as Netflix I think there is a thread in here some place.
Hi guys
Anything new in the MSM tools?
Or maybe any other way to lock the bootloader?
look on GitHub for fastboot enhanced works really great as long your in de bootloader you can do every command with just a click i was thinking on doing that my self to but then i saw something's what i want to try out and there is also a fastboot ROM in the forums maybe that you help you too
Thanks !
I will read about that!
i have the same question.
I have a NE2213, unlocked and rooted and now want to sell it.
So my plan was to uninstall Magisk with all Modules, do a factory reset, update to NE2213_11_A.16 and then relock the bootloader.
since i am only rooted with stock rom - the only changed image should be the boot.img which will be stock after i update zo A.16.
Should be right, isnt it?
since my only other option ist to contact the support for a online MSM-Tool, which i need to do anyways when it does not work - i would give it a try...

First of all and most importantly, I want to say that this is not my work. This is a port of the work done by @abhinavgupta371 and @HELLBOY017 for the OP9RT. I merely made sure there weren't extra or missing files and edited the .bat and .sh...
