I've had a Chinese variant of the Huawei p9 for a while now and bought a (genuine?) Huawei fast charger for it.
The only issue is that my phone would not want to fast charge when I plug it.
I tried charging a Samsung Galaxy Note 5 with it and I confirmed that my power plug is indeed a fast charger. (it works with Quick Charge 2.0 devices)
I want to know if other people have the same issue where fast charge doesn't work for their Chinese p9.
not only you . huawei fast charging just working with huawei orginal fast charging like the one with P9 plus . and doesn't support Samsung or other fast charging adapters(because it requires special algorithm) . you can order one from ebay or AliExpress . just search for huawei p9 fast charging . it's about 9 USD .

The block itself works for qc2.0 on Samsung devices, I'm just really not too sure why my p9 doesn't fast charge.
I also tested my friend's p9 and same no fast charge...
there is fake huawei fast charger with huawei branding in ebay , AliExpress and other online sites . there is a thread in this forum about this . and I believe that the only working one that came with model number like this : HW: .....200EHQ

Oh I see, really weird that my power block works on regular quick-change2.0 devices tho =/
Do you have a link to buy the proper us power block? If not, I'll search for it.
Hello Everyone,
I am planning to replace my battery for my P9 soon.
I was thinking about putting the P9 Plus battery for my P9, since it has higher capacity and it is the same shape as the one for the P9. From the pictures I saw online both the P9 and P9 Plus batteries seem to be exactly the same in terms of voltage and connection cable.
Would that work? If not please explain why
Thanks!!!
Even if the battery has same shape, voltage and ribbons, it will be much larger and won't fit. There is a reason why manufacturers make bigger batteries for plus models.
Hi,I was curious if my Mate 20 Lite can support fast charge,I used my friend's Huawei P20 Pro charger brick and when I'm on lockscreen the phone says just "charging",like he doesn't recognize it..and when I charge with his original charger that comes in the box it says "fast charging" but on the charging brick it's written "quick charge" and the charging speed it's clearly slower than my friend's P20 Pro.I didn't test the speed of charging on my.pgone with his charger,I just plug it in to see if it say something different , I'm a Little afraid to let it charge with his fast charge brick
Hey, the AC Charger of P20 Pro supports Supercharge, your Mate 20 lite only supports Quickcharge. Supercharge ist much faster, the AC Charger of P20 Pro doesn't support Quickcharge.
Only the Huawei Car Charger supports both

No, the Mate 20 Lite does not support Quick Charge. The charger has written "Quick charger" on it but don't mistake it for QCs Quick Charge technology.
The charging speed is not as fast as the P20 Pro, but it's faster than most phones and is a form of quick charge.

Then all this info is wrong. Take a look at this list. This is the official Quick Charge list: https://www.qualcomm.com/media/documents/files/quick-charge-device-list.pdf
Try to find any Huawei model.

Huawei didn't use a Qualcomm quick charge tehnology. They use own one. Like One plus one dash charge technology. Just like they use own Kirin soc's not a Qualcomm Snapdragon's.

Huawei Mate 20 Lite comes with Kirin 710 (not Qualcomm Snapdragon) so, obviously it will never be compatible with *QUALCOMM QUICK CHARGE*.
It has a quick charge from 5V-2A (up to 9V-2A) and it includes in the box the *HUAWEI QUICK CHARGE* charger that works with KIRIN chipsets.
The battery goes up fast considering that it has 3750 mAh.

Are you kidding me? I know all this and never said anything different. Read carefully. Quick Charge is registered trademark. If people ask if this phone supports quick charge then the answer is NO. I never that said it doesn't support another mechanism to quickly charge the phone.

Most of users didn't care about "Quick charge" like a trade mark and I'm sure that for most of us is important charging speed not a some license or sh*t like that.

But it supports quick charge hahahaha
With your explanation of "Qualcomm quick charge as a registered trademark" you'll only get consumers confused.
The answer was really short.
MATE 20 LITE SUPPORTS *HUAWEI QUICK CHARGE*

My Mate 20 lite seems to be working with qualcomms QC 3.0 since I updated to android pie and emui 9.0 and 9.1 on a standard charger I get a max of 1800ma using a high amperage cable and power adapter, charging on the included Huawei charger it goes to 3200ma. After I updated I was lazy one day and used the QC3.0 charger that didn't fast charge before, it jumped to 3300ma. I tested it on my USB fan which has a pass through USB (I use it for emergencies as it prevents the phone from thermally throttling the charging), when the charger switches to Quick charge it ramps the fan up as it's getting a higher voltage so it's definitely stepping up the USB voltage. I can't believe it's working tbh as I thought it would never accept a QC3.0 charger.
Bought a used Mi A2, that runs on the updated android one version.
I have tried a bunch of unnoficial power adapters, and all of them give only slow charge.
The strange thing is i tried my friends original Xiaomi adapter and it didn't even connected.
Im thinking about making a downgrade to android 9 or 8, what do you think?

not reason for fast charge problem ..try to enable Dev settings by tapping on build number in settings/about ...
then toggle fast charge to on in dev settings
*also if official charger is not working it means the battery is screwed or someone put cheap after market parts like bad replacement charging dock or cheap replacement battery

Hello good morning I have changed the battery (original) to my Huawei P30 Pro but it does not work and I have read that it is encrypted and that the mobile only works with the original battery.
Do you know if this is true? If so, how is it solved?
