Alright so to my understanding Xiaomi is really limiting its users and to a certain extent, it feels communistic.
Everyone gets the same themes, little to no customization options and you're stuck with that unless you unlock and flash a custom ROM.
And I don't want to do that since I bought my phone 2 months ago and I have 2 years of warranty.
I'd like to be able to set live wallpapers in the lock screen - I'm talking about live wallpapers downloaded from the google play store or other third party live wallpapers.
However, it seems like Xiaomi has patched every single method that I've found online so far.
Is there any possible way to use live wallpapers on MIUI without unlocking my bootloader / flashing a rom.
I'm not very experienced in the Android sphere. I know basic stuff - but I was thinking - maybe its possible somehow to give an app (wallpaper changer) permissions over adb to change the live wallpaper on the lock screen? Can anyone guide me if that's possible?
Thank you for all your help in advance.
Here's some extra info:
Device: Xiaomi Mi 8 (Dipper) 6RAM 128ROM - Global version, locked bootloader
MIUI version: 10.1.2.0 (PEAMIFI)
Android version: 9PKQ1.180729.001

You can't have live wallpaper on any Miui, only the some from its own theme store, but nothing from play store, sucks right ?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=41&v=jU0iZSQcXQM , or maybe things changed
Set Rhodium theme with live wallpaper, then you can use any live walls frop play market =]

Hey! I'll keep simple. No root, Flash or any custom thing is required. Simply a working Nexus 6P for this to work (Android 6.0+) .
Check Images bellow: "Home Screen Preview" - "Lock Screen Preview" - "Nav Bar Preview"
Disclaimer: I do not own any of the applications submitted in this thread, all credits goes to its original developer, just a fan who wants to make his phone look better :fingers-crossed:.
First of all make sure you have no Pixel Launcher installed (Officially extracted, modded etc...). If so, you'll have to uninstall it for the this launcher to work.
Install this Pixel 2 Launcher by paphonb
Now, for the Pixel 2 Live Wallpaper proceed to this page and make sure you follow the instruction ( Android 6 - Android 7+ pre-requirements)
for the wallpapers:
:
Downloads
Pixel Wallpapers 2017 6.0+
Live earth wallpapers (WallpapersBReel) 6.0.x Mirror (Google Drive) Alternate Fix ARM64
Live earth wallpapers (WallpapersBReel) 7.0+All Mirror (Google Drive) ARM64
Universal APKs for all devices (Texture Fix by @jekapaty) Testing ARM/ARM64
Live data wallpapers (WallpapersUsTwo) In All devices
Unmodified version added for Android 7.0+ devices. They are working fine so, no need to modify anything.
Please uninstall previous version first to avoid signature conflicts. See full thread here (UPDATED REGULARLY)

Last thing, for the Custom Nav Bar you'll need to pay a small fee for the full version which will have the Pixel Launcher Nav Bar theme (optional).

Hi, do you know how to get a static version of the pixel 2 wallpaper, like just a png or img file of it? Just to save battery life because I don't want to use the live wallpaper

So, i found the problem, look really strange but, looks like turn off MIUI Optimization in developer settings change icons shape, at least 3rd party ones! So, i fount that after reflash the whole ROM again...good, a tons of settings and changes to made to put them like i want but at least found the culprit!
Hope Xiaomi do a update to fix this, since i dont know why and how MIUI Optimization can affect icons shape, and this dont make sense at all!

Thankyou, that fixed it and also fixed the leftmenu first panel in homescreen where by trying to expand it was causing a weird visual bug where, now that i can see it normally, was basically trying to expand it but keeping the bounds of the original panel, therefore just spreading the icons inside. Now everything seems working fine.
Also reverting it back on active is not causing the bug to reappear.
Xiami Mi9 t pro (right out of the box literally opened it 3 days ago)
After update to MIUI 11.0.3.0 on Mi MIX 3 happened to me as well on stock ROM. Turning off optimization also helped.
God thank you, sun_is_shinning. I already tweaked the hell of themes and icons with no result. Now I want to use my phone again.
Also in that update they did something to animations so they became annoyingly slow. I made all the animations 0.5x in developer options and it became less annoying but some apps relying on it are now showing ridiculously fast animations but it's bearable.
Hi, I cant find this "MIUI Optimization" menu in developer settings.
MIUI 11.2
help bro is there any alternative way to fix the square icon ? other than flashing whole rome
As you can mix and match themes to get the best result. MIUI 11 themes availability are region dependent. This means changing region can unlock themes for that region. Good news is once you download a theme changing region will not remove it.
Share here Homescreen screenshot. [mention region for theme]
To apply a specific weather widget (without changing anything else)
=> Open theme app.
=> My Page
=> Select a theme
=>check "homescreen", uncheck all others
=> apply
HTC style widget
Theme "Dark RUS" by Zlyden
region Indonesia
Htc Syle Black Color with seconds animation
Theme => Dark Rhyme by man
region Indonesia, India
Totally confused and really need some help
Hi there,
So, I came across this thread because I was looking for the way to get a certain feature on my Redmi Note 8. On several models of Android phones, I have seen that people get real live weather conditions on their lock screen or home screen. So, for example, when it's raining, it shows actual rain falling down. When it's thundering and lightning out, it shows lightning flashes on the screen.
Does anyone have any idea how I can get this feature on my Xiaomi Redmi Note 8?
I would be so forever grateful if anyone could pass on what they know. Thanks so much.
I love simple homescreen.

through a live wallpaper from the play store perhaps, there isnt any built in feature for that in the Note 8.
if you search about there should be some threads on workarounds to apply the live wallpaper on the MIUI lock screen too afaik.
Hi,
Today got MIUI 12 Update 12.0.1 but unfortunately have problems setting Super Wallpaper.
When I press wallpapers it automatically diverts to Themes/Wallpaper app
There was one exception, when I rebooted and pressed wallpapers it gave me an option of setting Super Wallpaper I managed to set it to Mars but after that same thing. I press wallpaper it goes directly to official Themes app.
Anyone experiencing this kind of glitch?
P.S. Also anyone know how I set clean factory miui theme?

You can use Super Wallpapers In the Themes App by going to your profile (Person Icon in the bottom) -> Wallpapers -> SuperWallpapers.
For me, it always fails to download. But maybe it works for you.

I'm in 12.0.1.0 (QFAEUXM). I'm located in Argentina. I confirm that I could access Super Wallpaper from my profile in the Themes application. I downoaded Earth and applied it successfully. However, only Earth and Mars are available.

This is weird. Are you saying that you see only in grey the wallpaper? I confirm that I don't have this issue. Try disabling anti-flicker mode if it's enabled and play with the colours settings. Is it the same after a reboot?
Hi, Can't launch "earth" , mars ii working but there is a message '' pls update'' with no result.

Hi guys,
I have a freshly rooted Xiaomi Redmi 4x with Havoc OS 4.16 installed, which is based on android 11 and Pixel 5.
Thus, this is a question about Pixel 5's UI even if the phone is not a pixel 5 ( it does appear as one in Google Play Store).
I noticed when I install an app, the automatically generated home screen shortcut is created not on the home screen but on the next one to the right. The more I think of it, the more I realize this might be in fact a good design idea, because the user might want to keep the main home screen clean and under his/her control. However, for the sake of it, is there a setting to tell the UI to create new shortcuts on the main screen instead? I looked in the settings but could not find it.
I do know I can move them, no issue in that.
Edit. This might be the wrong forum though, 'cos I just read Havoc OS uses Material Design 2 UI.
"Havoc-OS 4.x is based on AOSP, inspired by Google Pixel. Has a refined Material Design 2 UI crafted by @SKULSHADY".
I don't suppose Google Pixel 5 uses this UI.
If that's the case, I kindly ask a mod to DELETE this. Thanks!
