I've hard reseted my phone and now can't use it - Xiaomi Mi 8 Questions & Answers

I've having issues with my smartphone (GPS, camera... ) So I thought that a hard reset could help to fix those errors (since I've updated my phone to android 9 using the oficial OTA).
But after the hard reset, I connect to wifi, unlocked the phone using my MI ACCOUNT, but after that, a prompt ask me to "re enter" my password again. But I don't have any idea of what password is asking for.

I've tried my pin code, and others passwords but no luck. My device was locked with fingerprint and word-protected screen, but since there's only numeric keyboard can't type my password either.
What should I do? I CAN login to my google account on PC

Just found a solution myself
Follow the instructions:
1. On the screen of selecting WiFi network, select your network. Get connected.
2. Then hit "modify", and hit "change password" field.
3. Tap "show password" button, then type your phone number (or any other one).
4. Long tap and hit "call". A caller app is loaded.
5. Hit Save contact.
6. Tap the contact, then hit "share".
7. Choose Gmail app (note: adding Gmail account won't work from there, tried that).
8. Choose "Exchange". Type your email address (or any other one).
9. On the next screen (password selection), hit "select" to choose a certificate.
10. At this moment a device locking screen will be brought up. Change the lock to a PIN number.
!!!Voila!!!
11. Then go back to the beginning of the phone setup process and add Google account with no extra questions.

How to make and/or recieve calls whilst using internet sharing

I am having problems using the internet whilst making or recieving calls, does anyone know how to rectify this or could this be a pc fault as i am running vista? Or could it possibly the rom (2.03.l3v5y WWE)
Mine does this aswell mate. Always has, regardless of what ROM im using or what pc im on.
Dont know how to do both but i really would like to know.
Also, to prove its not the pc, whilst i was on the phone (loudspeaker) i tried to use google maps to find a shop, and it reported that there was no data connection - so it seems the phone cuts the data off whilst on a voice call.
I hope someone knows/can find a solution to this....
Try This......
On the handset, tap Start and select Settings.
Tap the Connections tab.
Tap the Connections icon.
Tap the Advanced tab.
Tap Select Networks.
Under the first drop down box, tap New…
In the Enter a name for these settings: field, enter Orange WAP
Tap the Modem tab.
Tap New…
In the Enter a name for the connection: field, enter Orange WAP
Tap the Select a modem drop-down list and select Cellular Line (GPRS, 3G).
Tap Next.
In the Access point name: field, enter orangewap
Tap Next.
If required, in the User name: field enter Orange
If required, in the Password: field enter Multimedia
Tap Finish.
Tap the Proxy Settings tab.
Select the This network connects to the Internet option.
Select the This network uses a proxy sever to connect to the Internet option.
Tap Advanced… Tap on HTTP.
In the Proxy server field, enter 192.168.71.35
In the Port field, enter 8080
Tap ok five times
This changes your setting from GPRS to WAP.
It mite work cause i think its got sumthing to do with how your actually connecting to recieve data & voice calls & if your in the right area where you can actually recieve what you need to do what you want.
I use the internet on my HD and make n recieve calls all the time area dependent....
The settings above are for Orange users only....
thedaddyy, I tried your suggestion and it appears to work
The speed is massivly reduced whilst on the phone but it remains connected and able to browse.
I used speedtest.net to check the speeds of the connections and the results are below. I had HSDPA connection with only 1 bar.

scan eye iris, fingerprint, or voice, when the new text message arrives

BIO.ID. is a program for Windows Mobile phones.
It displays user identification gate, eye iris, fingerprint, or voice,
when the new text message arrives.
In other words, it is a new text message notification alert.
It replaces the default system notification
with much better effects. Plus, a few new functions.
Because Windows Mobile phones have not build-in identification sensors,
at least for now, in 2008, this is only simulation, only a fake.
But it allows you to feel much better, and in some situation to really wow your friend.

}
BIO.ID. functions and features:
3 themes: eye iris scanner, fingerprint scanner, voice reconizing
2 voices: woman, man, to announce messages, or short vibrating without announces
"You've got message..." repeats after a minute, then every 3 minutes, up to 10 times (to save battery)
auto-deleting every message marked as Read in Inbox, or when you open some message to read
delays of deleting: 15 seconds, minute, 15 minutes, one hour, or on the next morning
modes of deleting: move to Deleted Items folder, or delete completely While BIO.ID. interface displays on screen:
first pressing of any button, or quick touching the screen: start to scan
next one pressing or touching: finish, turn off BIO.ID. interface, and open Inbox
additional possibility of user action: to omit the scanning mode: quick move on the screen up and down a little,
or quick press up and down navigate buttons: it will bring the Inbox faster without voices When you use so called: Profiles, or change sound volume down,
BIO.ID. will not play alerts, when you use Silent Profile, or vibrating, or volume set to zero. In opposite it will try to vibrate shortly, if you set any BIO.ID. voice to use.
BIO.ID. using:
To start or stop this program, click the icon on Start menu, or Programs screen.
To activate BIO.ID. check Enable notification box. To turn off, open this dialog again and uncheck this box.
BIO.ID. other screenshots:
This programs works on any screen size and orientation, both in Windows Mobile Professional (PPC) and Standard (Smartphone).
You can read the name of the last Sender of message, and the time, before you decide "to start scanning".
If you don't want to read message(s) at this moment, just leave your phone. The next upcoming message will start all from the beginning.

Tasker and Google Maps, action Tap, Done button ?

Hello guys. When google maps completes a trip it displays a completed trip splash screen where one has to click Done in order to continue. I do lots of trips and would like to automate this with tasker.
I would like to schedule a task that will execute click of Done at the end of the trip so maps can go to their default screen of showing your location. I do lots of trips and i find this splash screen unnecessary.
Most of the tutorials i found use time as variable but time will change all the time so can not use time and need to use some other variable. Not sure how to set this up especially the variables.
Anyone can help me out what actions to setup in Tasker in order to execute this after each trip completes? Thank you in advance.
Get AutoInput Tasker Plugin. Then create a Profile-->event-->Plugin-->AutoInput-->UI Update. Set it up using guides/tutorials to monitor Google Maps for that "Done" button to appear. Then for the task, use AutoInput to automatically tap the "Done" button for you.
Watch a bunch of tutorials about AutoInput....it is the key here.

Hi @Stupifier Thank you for that. I think i'm getting there but have last hurdle. One thing i'm uncertain now.
Do i choose for text YOU HAVE MADE or DONE ?
Should i check only clickable and "DONE" text and ONLY visable "YOU HAVE MADE IT" text ?
Anything for Variables ? After i create Profile and set all of that it won't let me complete without setting tasks. It want's to delete unfinished profile as no tasks have been set.
Here is the task / splash screen what i need to auto task / auto input. The automation of click "auto click" needs to be executed on Done button.

What to put in for Text. Do i choose for text YOU HAVE MADE or DONE ?

Tasker won't let me complete it without tasks setup. I thought autoinput would set this up based on what i inputed into fields in screenshot above. I guess tasks are still missing? Thoughts?

FINALLY! A way to permanently fix proximity sensor. [Without root/changing Rom]

Its been a while since some users of this phone ran to this problem. But in the end there's a way to fix it...
How:
Unlocking factory mode and correcting proximity sensor.
Go throught this:
Dial *#06# to open up the IMEI information screen on your OnePlus device. Then, long press on the IMEI 1 field to copy it.
Open the unlock code generator by clicking on this link and paste the IMEI in the blank field.
Select Unlock for 10 Minutes.
Press “CONVERT” to get the unlock code.
Dial *#*#5646#*#* on your phone. You should see a screen that prompts you to scan a QR code. Press the back button so that you can access the code input field.
Enter the unlock code in the field and press the “OK” button.

If everything goes right, you should see the following screen:

Voila! Now you can access Factory Mode by dialing *#808# or *#36446337#.
Trought the FactoryMode:
When FactoryMode window pops-up you will be in Assembly test projects scroll right to: Device debug. You should see the following screen
Go to Proximity Sensor Test
Check For yourself the infrared proximity test
Mine was crazy and kept stuck in near after I put my hand over.
If you got to here its time to do the calibration.
BE AWARE TO REMOVE THE CASE AND CLEAN THE SURFACE NEAR THE FRONT SPEAKER
Get yourself a white paper or a whitemask (Yeah i've done this way lol) and go near to a window for nice illumination, not too bright nor poor light. Just what you can get near a window in a cloudy day.
Put the phone on a flat surface
Do as the calibration test say and put the paper/mask over the speaker of the phone above 5 cms. and Check.
Go to test, try covering/uncovering with your hand over 5 cms and you should find yourself with something like this, if not try calibrating again:
Your browser is not able to display this video.
Nice!
Hi! I don't know if you are still following this Post.... In my OP 9RT I cannot go into Factory Mode, the code is not working. I got the device specific code from the Link provided with my IEMI , but the *#*#5646#*#* isn't working!
Any work around possible , please?

[TUTORIAL] How to bring back Google Discover App Shortcuts

}
For some of the categories like Sports, Weather, Finance, etc. you would have seen a prompt like the one above on the Google Discover feed.
If you choose 'No, thanks', you may not see it again. Google app doesn't provide a way to add these to your homescreen (only Google knows why) if you change your mind later.
One way to bring back the prompt is to delete Google Play Services data, something which is often NOT a viable option. If you have paired your smartwatch with your phone, you shouldn't delete this data as it holds the pairing key for your watch. You'll have to factory reset your watch, pair it again with your phone and redo all the setup on your watch from scratch. For me who is having 300 apps and watch faces installed on the watch, with no way to backup and restore the data, this is an option that is untouchable.
HOW TO BRING THESE SHORTCUT PROMPTS AGAIN?
1. Open a Chromium based browser with Google as it's search engine.
2. Open Incognito (Private) tab.
3. Type Sports (or any category whose shortcut you want to add) and start the search.
4. It will open the Google Sports web app in the browser and the prompt to add shortcut will show up.
5. If you click on Add, you'll see this:
6. Click on Leave. This will then give the option to add the shortcut to the homescreen:
I have seen that this launcher prompt above doesn't always show up (not sure if this is because I already have this shortcut on my homescreen). In that case, close the incognito tab, open a new one, and go through the steps once again and it will show up.
Tested to work on Android 13 on multiple devices.
7. The shortcut on your homescreen will now open in Google app (not the browser that was used to create it), and this is what we want.
Hope this helps.
