How to make and/or recieve calls whilst using internet sharing - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

I am having problems using the internet whilst making or recieving calls, does anyone know how to rectify this or could this be a pc fault as i am running vista? Or could it possibly the rom (2.03.l3v5y WWE)

Mine does this aswell mate. Always has, regardless of what ROM im using or what pc im on.
Dont know how to do both but i really would like to know.
Also, to prove its not the pc, whilst i was on the phone (loudspeaker) i tried to use google maps to find a shop, and it reported that there was no data connection - so it seems the phone cuts the data off whilst on a voice call.
I hope someone knows/can find a solution to this....

Try This......
On the handset, tap Start and select Settings.
Tap the Connections tab.
Tap the Connections icon.
Tap the Advanced tab.
Tap Select Networks.
Under the first drop down box, tap New…
In the Enter a name for these settings: field, enter Orange WAP
Tap the Modem tab.
Tap New…
In the Enter a name for the connection: field, enter Orange WAP
Tap the Select a modem drop-down list and select Cellular Line (GPRS, 3G).
Tap Next.
In the Access point name: field, enter orangewap
Tap Next.
If required, in the User name: field enter Orange
If required, in the Password: field enter Multimedia
Tap Finish.
Tap the Proxy Settings tab.
Select the This network connects to the Internet option.
Select the This network uses a proxy sever to connect to the Internet option.
Tap Advanced… Tap on HTTP.
In the Proxy server field, enter 192.168.71.35
In the Port field, enter 8080
Tap ok five times
This changes your setting from GPRS to WAP.
It mite work cause i think its got sumthing to do with how your actually connecting to recieve data & voice calls & if your in the right area where you can actually recieve what you need to do what you want.
I use the internet on my HD and make n recieve calls all the time area dependent....
The settings above are for Orange users only....

thedaddyy, I tried your suggestion and it appears to work
The speed is massivly reduced whilst on the phone but it remains connected and able to browse.
I used speedtest.net to check the speeds of the connections and the results are below. I had HSDPA connection with only 1 bar.

APN setings for my newly flashed Cappy

So, the CM10.1 flash is running perfectly! I like to give a big thanks to all those who helped. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
However, before the flash I was able to get 3G running a Straight Talk SIM card. At the moment, the best I can do is Edge. Straight Talk offers the following settings, which are the same as I had in 2.3.5:
Name : Straight Talk
APN : att.mvno
Proxy : Left Blank
Port : Left Blank
User name : Left Blank
Password : Left Blank
Server : Left Blank
MMSC : http://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS proxy : proxy.mvno.tracfone.com
MMS port : 80
MCC : 310
MNC : 410
Authentication type : Left Blank
APN type : default,supl,mms
So why no 3G? Even when I flashed back to stock, it instantly gave me 3G. Any ideas?
Courtney
Looks like a lot of people have checked out this post, but no one has answered. Well, I figured it out and thought I'd share so everyone knows:
Firstly, I had to make sure the the APNs were right. I double checked that with Straight Talk, which they were correct. Next, I went to phone and typed in *#*#4636#*#* to access the advanced phone setup options. I then switched it from "unknown" to "LTE/GSM/CDMA auto (PRL)." This kicked it into HSDPA, which is better than 3G, so I'm more than thrilled at my new setup! I never got H mode in 2.3.5. It's like having a new phone!
Thanks again to everyone who helped me out!
Courtney
I think a lot of people, myself included, browse these forums in order to gain more knowledge about our devices and android in general. Not everyone, myself included, have the experience and/or knowledge necessary to help other users solve their issues. That being said, thank you for posting your results so that other users may learn from your experience. Glad you got it figured out. Edge is a slow beast! I know. It's all that's available in my area running a T-Mobile sim in my cappy.

Nice work, Courtney.
Thanks for sharing your progress.
By the way, there settings in CM10.1 settings menus that let you control the hsupa, hsdpa, 2G options.
Settings, Data, more is where you can toggle 2G only to save battery.
Settings, advanced settings is where you will find the radio mode settings.

Have you ever been in a situation where you needed to connect to a Wi-Fi network, but couldn’t remember the password? Or maybe there’s a network you’ve connected to with your jailbroken device, but now you need to access that network on your Mac or PC.
Well, the days of forgotten Wi-Fi passwords for computers may be a thing of the past. Wifi Password Manager is a new Google Playstore application that will list all saved Wi-Fi passwords that you’ve connected to from your rooted android device. Of course, in order for this app to be useful for the situation I mentioned, you must have previously connected to a specific network from your device in the past.
That being said, if you have built good list of remembered networks, and you need to connect to one of them from a computer, this little android application will definitely come in handy.
Once Wifi Password Manager is installed, instead of asking around for the Wi-Fi password, launch the app, tap on “Wi-Fi Password,” then select “Known Networks.” This option is made available via Wifi Password Manager and it will display a list of all known network names and their associated passwords.
Yes, my Wi-Fi password is “animalfarm.” Don’t judge me.
On top of that, you’ll be able to tap on a network in the list and copy the SSID or password. From there, you can sms or even whatsapp the information to someone or write it down and be on your way to connectivity back at your computer. It may not seem like much, but I can think of many situations where this little application would have saved the day.
The best part is, Wifi Password Manager is completely free. And for now ad-free! If this had been available in the past, I would have easily paid at least $0.99 to save me from a forgotten Wi-Fi password nightmare. Thankfully, it’s available now and you can install it via Google Playstore for free. There are no options to configure for this application.

Verizon VoLTE (Verizon Nexus)

Soo I'm stuck I came from a note 3 and never had a problem. I have enhanced LTE checked. I flashed the Verizon radio, and ive tested on euphoria/benzo/etc no luck. I need data when IN a call what can I do?5m I can flashback to stock and call Verizon help I will pay someone money to get a successful resolution.
Did you activate it on the Verizon site? I did that right after I got my sim in yesterday and when I went into the enhanced menu to turn it on it was already on.
"In order to enable the setting on your phone, head into the dialer and type in *#*#4636#*#*. When you hit that last *, your phone will jump into the hidden settings menu. Choose “Phone info” and then scroll down until you see an option for “TURN ON VOLTE PROVISIONED FLAG.” Tap that and then reboot your phone (I had to reboot twice for some reason to get it to work). Once booted, head into your phone’s regular settings menu, tap on “More” under “Wireless & networks,” then “Cellular networks.” You should now see an option for “Enhanced 4G LTE Mode” and it should be toggled on."
Enhanced LTE is already under cellular network and when I dial *#*#4636#*#* i see the option remove volte provisioning flag tap it and nothing happened

If it says Remove, its enabled so it should be working. That doesn't make sense unless you're not on LTE when you're trying to use it?
Anyone got Stock Verizon rom
Mine says LTE when I make a call the lte vanishef
You turned it on via your account right?

I've hard reseted my phone and now can't use it

I've having issues with my smartphone (GPS, camera... ) So I thought that a hard reset could help to fix those errors (since I've updated my phone to android 9 using the oficial OTA).
But after the hard reset, I connect to wifi, unlocked the phone using my MI ACCOUNT, but after that, a prompt ask me to "re enter" my password again. But I don't have any idea of what password is asking for.

I've tried my pin code, and others passwords but no luck. My device was locked with fingerprint and word-protected screen, but since there's only numeric keyboard can't type my password either.
What should I do? I CAN login to my google account on PC
Just found a solution myself
Follow the instructions:
1. On the screen of selecting WiFi network, select your network. Get connected.
2. Then hit "modify", and hit "change password" field.
3. Tap "show password" button, then type your phone number (or any other one).
4. Long tap and hit "call". A caller app is loaded.
5. Hit Save contact.
6. Tap the contact, then hit "share".
7. Choose Gmail app (note: adding Gmail account won't work from there, tried that).
8. Choose "Exchange". Type your email address (or any other one).
9. On the next screen (password selection), hit "select" to choose a certificate.
10. At this moment a device locking screen will be brought up. Change the lock to a PIN number.
!!!Voila!!!
11. Then go back to the beginning of the phone setup process and add Google account with no extra questions.

Force 3G only / 4G only possible?

Hello,
in my office, the network signal isn't the best. I have 1 bar at 4G, 2 bar at 3G and 3 bar at 2G. So the phone choose 2G all the time, but 3G is possible and fast. On my old Huawei, i had the network mode "3G only", but the realme has only "3G/2G auto", so it's still choosing 2G.
Is there any Possibility to force 3G or 4G?
I already read of the Settings Database Editor and installed it, but didn't find a proper settings item.
Also i tried to get in the engineering mode by dialing *#36446337# but it didn't work.
Thank you for your support.
Hello use this code on dialer *#2323#
Sorry, doesn't work. Nothing happens.
on the Chinese version of the phone appears the choice of network type
With the app "Force 4G LTE" i come into the screen "about the phone", where i can change the network type to "LTE/WCDMA only".. but it's full of ads...
i dont see any options to choose from as well (like 3G or 4G connection) default is just showing 4G

Force 3G only/4G only on realme device
I am using realme 5s and I have the same problem but finally I found a solution. You can download an app named "4G LTE SWITCHER(No ads)" from playstore and as the name suggests it has really no ads and it works for me!
