Hello guys, I need help with this and I know a lot of people need info about this too, I want to root my Huawei P7 L10 with Android Lollipop 5.1.1 (P7-L10C900B839). I already tried with ROOT GENIUS and it didn't work, I got a message something like right now there is not root for my phone, and another saying that the phone disconnected from the pc WHICH IS NOT TRUE. So, could anyone help me please? Also, I don't want to unlock the bootloader, I may be wrong so you should correct me if I am but I think if I just want to root I don't necessarily have to unlock the bootloader, I just want the root for a few minimal changes (to change the font since EMUI 3.1 doesn't let us do that and apply the new emojis to my phone changing a system file). So yeah, could anyone help me, I already checked the other threads and they only suggested a procedure involving unlocking the bootloader...so HEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP PLEASE :crying:
there is no other way than unlocking bootloader if you want to root your phone..
for b839 you need to replace the stock recovery with the newest TWRP custom recovery..
through this you can flash the super su (should be available as a zip-file)..
after that you have to delete the set_immutable.list by installing busybox and through commands by a terminal emulator..
when you have done these steps you should have successfully rooted your phone..
if you have read the threads entirely you should have read these information as well - because this had been adviced many times since the b805 beta..
for replacing stock boot or recovery it is always neccessary to unlock the bootloader, otherwise you will always get a "failed" if you try to flash a custom one..

Ok thank you for clearing this to me, I wasn't sure so I asked. Now I wish you could tell us step by step how to unlock the bootloader of the B839, I read the [GUIDE][HOW-TO] Unlock Bootloader Huawei Ascend P7-L10 thread but they talk about the B121, B126, nothing about B839
I used to root my phones long time a go, so I have a little experience, but I have never unlocked a bootloader or rooted a huawei, this is my first huawei. Could you please help me with this? I Know there are people looking info about B839 too. Thank you.

It's really simple, once you've unlocked your bootloader and updated to the latest stock firmware, just flash a custom recovery using flashtool (flashtool flash recovery RECOVERYNAME.img) and flash supersu zip in recovery.
https://download.chainfire.eu/696/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip
http://www.mediafire.com/download/wl1gua834qefkvy/recovery_cwm_emui3.0_B609.img
Ok, but I don't know how to unlock the bootloader part sorry, as I said I have never done that. But the other things you said and the other person above about the flashing a custom recovery and flashing super su zip I think I don't have any more questions, although I don't know why in the second link you sent it says emui3.0 and B609, it will work with my lollipop 5.1.1 emui 3.1 and B839? because downgrading is not an option

Hi everyone!
I just purchased a P7-L12 and I just upgraded to Lollipop 5.1.1. I'm very sure this update locked bootloader. Previous versions have unlocked bootloader.
Does anybody know the steps to unlocked this?
on huawei website should be a button for unlocking bootloader..
it is a small one..
just so the steps the website asks to do and you should get clear instructions how to unlock your bootloader..

Here it is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/ascend-p7/general/guide-unlock-bootloader-p7-l10-oem-t3062851
I just tried the dialer code thing and I got this:
FAILED (remote: data parse fail)
boss follow these procedures
1- Download adb or fastboot programs and save them to c: partition on your computer.
2- go to the file were you download the programs.
3- Press ctrl button at keyboard and right click at the mouse at same time.
4- You one option I don't remember exactly but it says something like open file here with adb.
5- You get the cmd screen for adb then you should type the following:
a- adb reboot bootloader.
b- fastboot oem unlock UNLOCK CODE.
It's not going to work, you need to request huawei for unlocking code
yaaa this is what I told him he needs to have unlock code that's why I capitalized this word.
Just go on huawei website and find about bootloader unlocking code. Its very simple

This is the link to unlock bootloader:
http://emui.huawei.com/en/plugin.php?id=hwdownload&mod=list
There is a button Unlock Bootloader. Fill the form and then the unlock code will be generated!
I always get "server is busy" or something like that....

hey xda world,
first this is my first post ever on this forum and i cant hold myself of being amazed from how helpful and smart the people here,
my case is kinda hairy so bare with me
now lets get to the mess, so i got yesterday myself a p9 *EVA-L09C02B123/Vodafone*, unlocked its bootloader then installed twrp and root, after doing the process i tried to lock the bootloader because of the annoying message at the bootup, but i couldn't because of an error from fastboot {Root type is risk}.
i looked up the error around the interwebs and xda ofc, and somewhere i found that relocking can only be done if all the partitions are oem/stock, so i decided to get rid of the twrp and flashed back the default recovery from the SRK Tool and still couldnt relock it.
then i started to look for stock roms and couldn't find a stock for the L09C02, so i tried the dload B136 and it failed at 50%, knowing that oeminfo dictates which version the phone should get, i got the C432 one and flashed it using twrp, did factory reset and i noticed the vodafone boot logo being replaced by the default huawei, at this point the build became *EVA-L09C432B123* and tried the b136 dload and still no luck and failing at 50%.
please help ! :crying::crying::crying:
Welcome to xda
Does your phone still boot? And what is it you are trying to achieve right now? Relock your bootloader?

my phone does boot, and yes i want to relock for the reason i might want to sell it but having that boot message is kinda cringey for non power users.
also an update on the case, yesterday after posting this thread i downloaded an update zip from this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=67122856&postcount=47
then i flashed the zip using twrp and succeeded, now the version is L09C432B136 but still no luck locking the bootloader.
Possible bad download? Try downloading the whole stock rom again.
Any error messages?

this is not a fix to lock the bootloader as that is hardware level not software level. Use the tool DC-Unlocker or SRK Tools, look on the other threads under Huawei P9 and you will find these two options to lock the bootloader again. I have already done it on mine after de-branding and network unlocking my (what is now a....) EVA-L09C432B136
If you can boot and have the correct version, I'd say try a factory reset, download that full stock rom again and try flashing. I don't see why that shouldn't work. Unless there is something different hardware wise about those branded ones...
first must remove root via super su, then flash stock recovery then relock
I get a "root type is risk" when i relock with SRK Tool, any idea?

i had an issue trying to update from B136 to B166 and i ****ed up everything
Only solution i found was to dload with stock rom B136 provided by PaulObrian in dev section, successfully, and guess what ? bootloader was locked again
Anyone succeed with manually updating P10? I have tried with no sucess.
Old method is not working.
Thanks
No but did you made the dload folder with the update.app file and then booted into the stock recovery mode?
I woudnt know any other way since they removed that from update settings : |
I tried that, does not work.
You can't manual update the P10 or P10 Plus, since it requires an online check.
They removed the ability to manual update via dload methode.
The only way at this moment is to use FunkyHuawei!

Not always correct. It depends on the local country laws you live in.

Is it same with P10 as it was with P9, tha it say relocked instead locked bootloader, when you lock it again?
nope : Phone LOCKED
FRP unlocked so they cant see the difference they can only find out if they check if you got the bootloader unlock code.but you also could request the code and dont use it.
Any progress here? The update has been out for months in other regions but I still haven't got anything here in Sweden :/
so I was trying to update to EMUI 9 using Beta Flashy and I forgot to reflash stock recovery after flashing root via TWRP to get Flashy to work, so after the update, it couldn't reset, and when I checked bootloader, FRP was locked and now its stuck in bootloop. can anyone provide me with a method to fixing this issue without requiring me to pay the absurd amount that FunkyHuawei and DC Unlocker charge for restoring?
thank you
edit: solution here
Try Dload method and go back to EMUI8

Have you tried factory reset from stock recovery?
Flashing someone elses oeminfo will not help you. All it will do is lock bootloader and change your unlock code. (that thread is for Mate 9 on Nougat where oeminfo can be flashed without breaking anything. On Oreo and higher it uses oeminfo to calculate unlock code. But it also uses the imei that's embedded in oeminfo to calculate it. If you flash someone elses oeminfo your imei in oeminfo will not be the same and unlock code will change)
You most likely didn't do anything wrong. Updating stock firmware will replace your recovery with stock recovery. If it got that far in installation that is?
FH should work but it cost a lot. DC does not work since June so don't bother with it.
Else you can try service firmware from androidhost.ru.

Wait, you were on B128?!
That's from December 2017/January 2018. And that's the reason why it won't downgrade. It has old bootloader, and you are now on new bootloader. (Since Pie has new bootloader and it flashed).
Try a more recent build, like B139 or B140
You can also try downloading from androidhost.ru using JDownloader, it seem to ignore the limit.

It's just that B128 has old bootloader, and Pie (Including Oreo firmware from June and forward) has new bootloader. You can not downgrade from new bootloader to old bootloader.
So that's most likely why it fails to flash B128.
And you would only be able to update Pie using NoCheck recovery/TWRP, which is impossible to flash as you are FRP locked.

Check the instruction pdf that's included in the firmware, it will show you the directory path to use. And if you need to use microsd or USB OTG to SD adapter or something.

yeah i did, it was relatively easy. just go to https://androidhost.ru, download the version for your phone, and when you unzip, you'll find a folder with instructions on how to flash. easy process, although keep in mind, this process will relock your bootloader (if you already unlocked it).
if you did unlock and it relocked, firstly, check your email if you still have the unlock code buried somewhere in your deleted emails, and if not, then check out this guide, should help you find your unlock code. it worked for me, and only cost $5 or so.

I was trying to rebrand and convert my phone to dual sim, only this can't be done on Pie and FunkyHuawei didn't make this known. And since I hit this issue out they are not responding to my emails anymore. Which sounds par for course with them from what others are saying. Anyway, I needed to downgrade to oreo to continue with the rebrand but oem unlock feature in developer mode was greyed out. So I did a factory reset but the oem unlock was still greyed out afterwards. And now when I go into fastboot, it is showing the phone as unlocked but FRP as locked. And I can't do anything in fastboot now as a result. Is there any way to unlock FRP again?

Well it seems firmware finder was my friend on this occasion. I found a load of folders and files with weird names on the internal storage and removed them. It seems these were were placed there by Funky as erecovery started working again, instead of twrp. And I wasn't getting the message to continue rebranding either. The internal storage was still read only, so I had a look at FF as a last resort. It recommended a higher version of the original so I went with that. It took around 3 hours for it to download and install but everything was back to normal afterwards. Including frp and oem unlock.
As for rebranding, well I'm no further on but I shant be trying it again until I can downgrade to oreo. If I could only figure out how to do that.

Honestly unless you really really need it. I wouldn't bother mate. Massive ballache
This is such a lame phone, can't wait to be rid of it.
Downgrading should be achievable by either hisuite or by a flash script. Literally just like installing a new os. I used the latter as hisuite bugged out after fiddling with host files thanks to fh. Search this forum for pats with the word numpty in title. I wrote an exact step by step on the process I followed
When you do the rebrand if you don't need dual sim, just use the standard debrand P20 tool and key the model and regions manually to ensure no **** ups.

If there's any dload firmware available for your device (search on androidhost.ru for your exact model and region), then you might have a chance to fix this issue, by downgrading/updating with the dload method.
