Failed update to android 8 oreo, can't find boot partition? - P8 Lite (2017) Discussion

Tried to update to Oreo using HuRUpdater on my PRA-LX1 because Huawei still haven't pushed out the update, but something went wrong and I can only boot to eRecovery or TWRP. The firmware I tried to install was PRA-LX1C432B369, which firmware finder said was ok to install. After the failed update, I tried to restore a TWRP backup of Nougat but I got an error that the boot partition couldn't be found. Looking at the Mount section in TWRP, the boot partition doesn't exist so I can't flash boot.img. Bootloader and FRP are unlocked so that's not an issue.
Is there any way I can restore from a backup of android 7 when the phone has the android 8 partition table? Or should I try to downgrade to the original PRA-LX1C432B191 firmware I was originally on?

Use the method here... https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-9/how-to/guide-mate-9-flash-update-package-t3593108
Originally written for the mate 9, it's been updated for the p10.
It will debrand if you're not already on C432, and/or update to any C432 rom (I believe the latest is B133 which I'm on)
It will wipe your phone though, so backup anything you need to your external sd card.
I had tried this method but not working for me on W10 strange

If you are on EMUI 5.01 (Nougat), do rollback to EMUI. 4.1 (MM), it will fix the problem and by OTA upgrades you will go back to N.
It's a known problem, discussed in several threads, resulted usually by messed up flashing or backing up and restoring partitions in TWRP.

You can find several stock recoveries for L09 c432 b39x at my Mega:
https://mega.nz/#F!w41RmZKB!IG53JadhjUKgFK8anbctIw
You can always download Update.zip from FirmwareFinder, unzip and extract recovery partition (not recovery2) by PC app Huawei Update Extractor (find on XDA).
You must use recovery for your currently installedl build.

Help me! :crying:
I have managed to repair it.
I flashed an AOSP (Omnirom) for fastboot flash and I was able to make wipe factory, after that I was able to flash HWOTA version B128 and later B149, now everything is perfect.

It's probably because System was wiped, you would have to flash system again and reboot, then try HWOTA again.
Or because it failed to mount /system

Phone reboots into TWRP on software update

I purchased the phone through aliexpress, and have been trying to lock the bootloader so I can get fingerprint access working. I installed TWRP, and was unsuccessful in locking the bootloader through the guides in the forum.
I factory reset my phone, and when it came back up, it showed I had a software update, which I downloaded. There is also a pop up from Android System saying that my device is rooted (Probably from the aliexpress vendor). When i try to update the firmware, it reboots the phone and goes straight into TWRP recovery. Below is a screenshot of what I'm seeing. The picture is also uploaded on imgur dotcom/a/cHhsGvR
Can someone help? Thanks.
