2 nights ago my brother in law got update at 5am in Serbia. He lives and bought phone in US. At 10am when he tried to use whatsapp phone froze in middle of typing and went black without even logo shut down. Inresponsive since then. Could it go brick from new update? Anyone had similar exp?
When I used to work in cell service downgrading held risk of killing the phone 100%. Is there any way to get it alive without burning your data?
Try wiping the cache from recovery. If that doesn't work, a factory reset may be needed.

I have only had my streak for a few weeks and in that time I have been unable to use it for more than a few minutes before it freezes and I have to reset with the pinhole button. Has anyone else been having this issue? I have had it replaced. I have reset it to stock, had it rooted, left off all applications and Dell support is as helpful as a bulimic in an eating contest. The problem is that since I had it replaced once so I can't get a refund...
Does anyone have any advice or a similar issue?
I had to do it once back the week I got it in early Feb, but not since then. That's very strange...
Mine was same after second day after my purchase... I did a factory reset and it was fine after than.
Then subsequently those freezes are all because my relentless trial of all softwares that requires root. So those should has nothing to do with stock rom then since freezes disappear after i uninstall some apps.
Ah there is a pin? Had missed that.
It would have helped yesterday when my S7 froze and I had to let the battery run out.
This morning, fully recherged it died all of a sudden while I was using Google Maps and for a few minuts it was not even showing a light when recharging...all of a suddent it came back to life. Very odd!
Hey guys, i have had the thrill since release date and about a month ago started having problems with data. when i turn on the screen, it shows that im connected to hspa+, but wont get the send and receiving of data arrows to light up. I usually wait about a minute with it trying to get data before i turn off the screen and on again. Usually I just solve the problem by rebooting the phone. This has really started to make me mad and made me want to sell this phone. Its pointless to have a phone in which you only get data half the time you turn the screen on. Any advice would be helpful, thanks.
Just did a nandroid backup, ill see if it improves anything

check your data usage, i got throttle a lot after hitting 5Gb in two weeks.
i'm having the same problems with my phone... i've got unlimited data too so i didn't figure it should be a problem. I'm new to the androids so i don't get what the whole up/down arrows are but it seems if i go from a wifi spot to a non wifi spot my internet shuts off.
No Data
I had the exact same problem about 2 weeks ago. I called customer service they had me hard reset, which resulted in the same problem. Then I they had me factory reset, after the factory reset I was going through the Android setup process when the setup force closed. This basically soft bricked the phone. I would go into recovery then factory reset the phone again, they same result. Just a black screen, with the home keys lit up. I was able to get a new phone through warranty. I am hoping for this one to die as well and be done with this nightmare of a POS phone.

Hi All,
I could use some help.
My phone started crashing when I was trying to answer calls (though not all the time just random calls now and again) about 3 weeks ago. So I thought I'll do a backup and Hard Reset the HTC IncS. However, since then my phone will occasionally boot up but will crash within minutes or gets stuck in a boot loop. The phone is UK Vodafone in original condition, ie no HBOOT or roms have been installed.
When I now try to perform a Hard Reset using the volume down and power buttons it tries to do it then screen goes blank and the only way to get any life is pull the battery, on reinserting the battery and connecting the charger it instantly switches on and tries to re-perform the Hard Reset.
Does anyone have any clues or ideas on what I should do next.
Return it to your place of purchase for repair.

I thought it was 2 years?
Warranty
I'll look into that, but I honestly thought it was a 12 month warranty.
i'm having some serious problems with reboots. it happens at least once or more a day. i researched some yesterday and some people say factory reset helps others say flashing a custom rom did the trick. i wiped and installed CM12 last night and the phone just froze up on me for about 2 min then rebooted.
is anyone else having this problem?
been happening a few times for me on rastapop rom with elementlx or lean kernel never had one problem when a was on sinlessrom
If you're getting random reboots on stock, flashing custom is not going g to help. Best bet is to flash fully stock after a wipe. If its still a problem, you probably need to be thinking about warranty
In wondering if it's not happening to more people and they don't realize it. I know it's happening when in my pocket as well cause I'll grab the phone at times and it tells me I have several apps available for update in play store. Once I clear that it won't come up again until I reboot the phone.

Browsing around I found this thread that seems related. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3013352

Checking system uptime from the terminal confirms that my phone has definitely not rebooted in 8 days, 20 hours, 34 minutes, and 1 second.
I've been having this problem since I got my phone in November 2014. It happens several times a week. Here's the discussion thread on Google Product Forums. They say they're working on a fix. BTW, I've tried troubleshooting over the phone with T-Mobile tech support and didn't have any luck with what they suggested.

So I've been going threw this for a while now. I have had the day of today , early morning went to court for a hearing, pulled my phone it to check the time and it was already rebooting. Figured wth I'll call Motorola today about this. Called them and the noon English speaking women on the phone kept asking me to do a factory reset etc after I tried explaining that I have factory reset the phone 3 times already, 2 times before flashing a factory image (5.1) and once after to get my storage (64gb) to show up properly. Finally I asked for a supervisor. Again another women that barely spoke English (don't think I'm racist or anything here, I just get sick and tired of having to repeat myself and asking them to repeat themselves. It turns a 15 min phone call into a 30-45 min one) and the lady starts asking me to hold the power button for 30 sec etc to hard boot it. Again after I explained that I flashed a factory image to the phone and still have the problem. By the end of the call she was telling me that when I get the replacement phone and it continues to have the reboot problem to hard reboot the phone daily to avoid random reboots. I asked if they all had this problem and she said that they have been trying to fix it but there is no solution. Wtf! So now do I believe this lady and deal with it or do I get a replacement. T-Mobile wants $20 for a replacement to save me the hassle of having to put up $500 while I wait for Motorola to exchange my phone.
Two nights ago I was on my way to the airport and my phone froze then shut off. No big deal, it does that sometimes. However, when I turned it back on, it would load up the LG "Life's Good" screen and then restart, over and over.
I loaded into recovery mode and did a factory reset, and cleared the cache. After that, it would go past the LG screen to the "Android is updating Apps" screen and count up the apps until a certain point (9/45 usually) then shut off completely.
I didn't have access to a computer for the past two days so I couldn't try anything else. This morning I used LGUP to upgrade the phone to ZVB (what I was already running). The update went through successfully, at least on the computer, but now the phone is stuck on the "Life's Good" screen again, this time it isn't rebooting, just stuck on that screen with the blue LED going on and off repeatedly.
Any ideas what might be wrong? Did I screw something up by factory resetting, or by using LGUP? Please help.

Sounds like tbe famous boot loop issue. Its a hardware problem known issue. Theres a thread on the general section about it. Take it to sprint or call lg. Should be repaired for free.
I agree with TheMadScientist420. This is the same thing that happened to me. Was rooted on ZV5, went to unplug from charging and the screen didn't turn on. Pulled the battery and it would loop at the LG screen. Never got the upgrading apps message.
Cleared cache to no avail. Then factory reset with the same issue. I opened a call with them on 06/09. Shipped it to their Texas service center on 06/10 from PA. They received it on 06/14 and repaired it on 06/17 . It was shipped to me on 06/20 and I received it on 06/23 so you're looking at a 2 week turnaround on your phone.
