Hi,
How could i flash Custom ROM with Odin..
Because
1. I am not able to go into recovery mode by holding Volume up+Volume Down+Power Buttons
2. I could not reboot into recovery mode using adb commands (stuck at at&t screen)
3. I could not reboot into recovery by flashing any kernel with CWM.. obviously i have to use volume up+Volume Down+Power Buttons again :-(
I am able to flash stock ROM through ODIN 1 click downloader (currently on I897UCKI2)..and its the only way i could flash a ROM now..
So is there a way to install custom rom through ODIN ?
Please help...
If you can get into download mode (power off, hold V+/V-, insert USB), you can try flashing a ROM via Heimdall. Apex 12.5 has a package you can flash from Heimdall.
You can also try Mosaic 9, as that has an Odin-based installer package.

Hey,
I'm using samsung galaxy star s5282. I rooted this phone 2 days ago. Everything went good until today when i was i my class it suddenly switched off. When i rebooted it, it hang on the samsung logo.
I tried to boot into cwm recovery mode by pressing v+, home, power but it boots into default system recovery mode.
I again flashed cwm recovery many times using odin but it dosent work. Odin shows pass but when i reboot my phone in cwm recovery mode my phone enters in default system recovery mode.
What should i do please please please help.....
Note many devices will replace your custom recovery automatically during first boot. To prevent this, use Google to find the proper key combo to enter recovery. After typing fastboot reboot, hold the key combo and boot to TWRP. Once TWRP is booted, TWRP will patch the stock ROM to prevent the stock ROM from replacing TWRP. If you don't follow this step, you will have to repeat the install.
applies to all recoveries
cheers

Surenda 1863,
I had exactly the same problem and it took me almost one week of fiiddling and searching the Web to solve it.
The solution was in front me since day ONE : install ODIN on the PC !
In my case, I had I had accidentally wiped out the stock ROM and the tablet was hopelessly frozen on the download mode. I couldn't turn it off to boot it back with any of the usual buttons ( Volume , Home, Power)
I made the wrong assumption that since my PC didn't see the tablet, it couldn't connect to Odin either . I was wrong!
Here is what you have to do:
1. Install Odin on your PC. Connect the tablet to it. You will see that Odin sees the tablet because there will be a caption saying "added" on the top left.
2. Press the AP tab button at the right to go to the location where your Stock ROM is. The stock ROM file will have an MD5 ending.
3 Once the file is loaded (next to the AP button) just press Start. You will see the DOWNLOAD bar gradually filling up on the tablet and at the top left of ODIN.
4. When the operation is terminated, you will see a caption " PASSED" at the top left of he Odin screen and the tablet will automatically boot up to the HOME screen.
As simple as this! I didn't even have to worry about flashing the TWRP ( or CWR) recovery system, probably because the OS ROM was already wiped out. May be your case is different. I only know that in my case it worked like a charm.

Your Bootloader is messed up.
1. Goto Downloadmode
2. Extract AriesVE.ops from Ariesve.zip and Insert AriesVE.ops @OPS in Odin
3. extract boot_loader.tar from bootloader.zip and insert boot_loader.tar in Odin @BOOT
4. Flash
Reboot and it should boot to Android

First powerdown, pull out Battery, SIM CARD, and EXT.SD card, press power button for a minute, than powerup without SIM and Ext.SD Card....
Try a solution from My Android Solutions
(Do remember to backup your contacts, data, images etc and also your EFS folder before flashing a ROM and make sure you have more than 50% battery charge before you attempt any sort of flashing.)

Dear friend,
I have the same problem as the Author. I installed CMW v5.5.0.4 so I flash cyanogen ICS.
Anyway, I entered Downloadmode, I connected to Odin and did as you said.
As a result, when the phone is shut down
a. When I press the power button, "Samsung" logo appears, and then black screen forever. Then I remove battery.
b. When I press Vol Up + Power button, it enters CMW (but when I select "Reboot now" it goes samsung-blackscreen like"a"
c. When I press Vol down+power+home key, it goes to downolad mode (I did a 2nd time what you suggested, but Nothing improved).
Please help, I am desperate.

I've put the cwn 6.0 and the problem is gone now, no loop,...works fine, ..i've tried some games/apps, and it seams that not all of them are working ,..but it's ok , the root and the ICS will do
i9001 bootloop
this is the only thing it worked for me:
Put this file on sdcard
Load it via recovery with "install from sdcard"
it will automatically reboot the phone
once solved, copy to sdcard and restore attached stock recovery.img or don't reboot into recovery again, as it will bootloop again:
from within phone, start terminal emulator and type:
su <enter>
dd if=/sdcard/recovery.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p13 <enter>
of course, needs root
---
i installed supposed "stable" twrp 2.2.1 and it produced bootloop into recovery
don´t know if last twrp 2.4.1.0 or cmw 6.0.3.7 for stock roms will solve it but i won't try, i restored stock recovery.img from a backup i made with "online nandroid backup"
bootloop is veeeeeeery common in i9001, the fix above that worked for me erases (fills with zeros) param partition mmcblk0p14, a partition for temporary commands that non-stock recoveries don't erase before rebooting and cause bootloops

AMAZING!!! You are a lifesaver. :highfive:
I had bricked my Galaxy S Plus after flashing TWRP which caused a recovery bootloop. I tried using download mode to reflash bootloader using Odin but my PC said "USB device not recognized". I tried tons of drivers, factory resets/system format(which was a bad decision), different cables and even PCs but I couldn't get my device recognized at all. I thought the phone was a paperweight now but I finally found your post and successfully booted my phone to unofficial CM12 without any problems!
Thanks a lot once again!!:good:
haha
perfect it worked for you! another smartphone saved!!
nice my explanation helped you!
you are welcome
After downloading CM11 and GApps, I put it in my SD card and went into my recovery cwm9 by using an app. I got in and tried to flash my zips but I couldn't find them. Before I actually tried to flash them I did this first:
Wipe cache ( only required on first installation )
Wipe Dalcik cache ( only required on first installation )
Format /system and optionally /data ( Only necessary if coming from stock or a different ROM )
So when I rebooted I was greeted by getting stuck at the T-mobile boot splash.
I don't know how to get into recovery manually. I can't try to use download mode because I used fastboot. When I get into fastboot I tried using ADB to boot into recovery but device is not found when I'm in fastboot.
Please help me, I literally just got this phone and wanted to flash a custom rom because the LG stock is disgusting.

See FAQ thread for getting into recovery.
[SIZE=+1]Q14: I've flashed a custom recovery but what are the key combos to get there?[/SIZE]
Power off the device
Press and hold Power + Volume down
When the LG logo appears on the screen, quickly release the Power button, still holding the Volume down button, and press and hold Power again until the "Factory Reset" screen appears. Don't worry, this won't reset the device.
Use the volume keys to navigate up and down and Power to select. Scroll down and select "Yes" and repeat once more. It may take up to 10 seconds for the device to boot to recovery.
I've now gotten into the recovery and installed both cyanogenmod and GApps. I've actually had to change the rom found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-l90/development/rom-cyanogenmod-11-lg-l90-lg-d415-t2871371
I've had to change the updater script that contained "w7" to "w7ds" because it said my device wasn't w7 and that it was w7ds.
I've rebooted and now it's just stuck on the cyanogenmod boot screen.
What do?

You've got an older recovery it seems. Download Philz-Touch from my thread, the link you posted, or get TWRP from this thread
Since you're having booting issues, use fastboot to flash the recovery.
Thing is when I'm in fastboot, ADB won't detect my device. I've only gotten it to detect my device once and that's when I was unlocking my bootloader. I don't know how to do it again.
So what do I do? BTW, thanks for helping me.
Edit: I formatted everything again and tried to reinstall the cyanogenmod and GApps. Seems like I just had to wait for the boot screen.

Put device in fastboot mode. ADB can't detect the device when it's in fastboot mode.
Type:
Code:
fastboot devices
You should see a listing similar to "adb devices" output.
Copy recovery image to the same folder fastboot is in. Then type:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
or
Code:
fastboot boot recovery.img
First one will only write the recovery image to the device. The second on will write the image to the device and should then boot the device to the recovery.
EDIT:
Yes, the first boot takes a couple minutes.
Seems I just had to wait for bootscreen.
How do I turn data on and off?

Well, yeah, but a faster way. Like in LG in the notification bar there was a button that would turn data on and off. Does cyanogenmod have anything like that similarly?

Try booting into download mode and boot into TWRP/CWM instead of installing
The best solution (valid for me with the same problem):
Download the TWRP-3.0.2 recovery, from https://forum.xda-developers.com/le...ecovery-twrp-3-0-2-lenovo-a6000-plus-t3543596
Copy the TWRP-3.0.2-Lenovo-A6000x32.img to the fastboot.exe folder in your PC
Turn off your phone, combine power + vol (-) to enter fastboot
Connect your phone to the PC, wait until it recognizes it.
In the PC, run a cmd prompt, and go to the fastboot.exe folder
type " fastboot flash recovery TWRP-3.0.2-Lenovo-A6000x32.img "
type " fastboot reboot "
Now, you can run the recovery. For me, worked with power + vol (-) + vol (+).
In recovery, connect to the PC via USB and copy to the internal memory the following rom: https://forum.xda-developers.com/lenovo-a6000/development/cm11-lenovo-a6000-plus-bugs-fixed-t3163636
Do a full wipe (I did it even the data partition)
Install the rom via install
Wait a few minutes until the phone boots.
Done!

Flash TWRP recovery for KitKat. Don't flash the latest version as it will not work on KitKat (based on my experience).
Search and look for TWRP for KitKat, flash it and you're good to go.

I am trying to install LineageOS on a brand new SM-T713. I have booted the device into Odin mode and used Heimdall to flash TWRP. AFAICT, this completed successfully.
Now I am supposed to power the device off and reboot it into recovery mode, but I can't figure out how to power it off.
Any ideas?
UPDATE: The solution was to hold down the volume-up, volume-down, and power buttons simultaneously; this reboots the device. Fortunately, the stock OS did not overwrite the recovery partition, so I was able to power-off and boot into TWRP.
