Pie beta MultiStar? - Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Questions and Answers

Has anyone had success getting MultiStar to work with the Pie beta? It doesn't show up in the Good Lock 2018 so I installed the MultiStar APK and then used ActivityManager to create a shortcut. This works, but when I enable Multi window without pausing it un-enables itself every time I close the app.

I have same problem on note 9 and i need multistar for work

I don't have anything to say or share relating to the topic, but I just wanted to point out, the opposite of "enable" is "disable", not "un-enable".

Nothing so far from Good Lock has worked for me, except hiding the clock icon on the status bar with QuickStar. No blur's, no transparent effects are executed.

Same for me. Only GoodLock module that works for me is the One Handed Operation+. Nothing else works. I think it's because they're not compatible with Android 9. I think we have to wait for Samsung to update their modules.

I have Pie Beta on my device now and I can confirm that none of the GoodLock modules work. Best you can do, is wait for Samsung to update the modules to work on Pie, which I'm guessing might only be when they're done with the stable versions and rolled them all out. So it might be a while.

Thanks for the input everyone

Anyone installed Custom Navigation bar?

Has anyone managed to successfully install Custom Navigation bar?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=xyz.paphonb.systemuituner
Right after I sent the ADB command, my systemUI consistently crashed. I had to do a factory reset and wasted quite a bit of time.
Wondering if anyone got this to work...
Thanks!
Similar to me, waiting for update.
Setting the navbar color via ADB was easy and works great. That said I didn't do anything else with it.
It is not only about the color. That app is also allowing to add 2 extra buttons to the nav bar with any key code. It is extremely useful, it works great in Note8, but it fails in Note9. Can't wait for an update.
Trimis de pe al meu SM-N960F folosind Tapatalk
It seems that even though the app got an update for Android 9, in the mean time, Note9 was set as incompatible device (which should prevent others getting into trouble).
Hopefully a fix is on the way, as it was very useful.

Perhaps not that much customized, but I'm using wings substratum to darken my navbar icons and swift for amoled black navbar.

I was using it to add 2 extra buttons on the sides:
- menu button - very usefull in old applications
- sfinder in the other one
But you could map those 2 buttons to whatever keycode you wanted... which is extremely useful!!
I'm using substratum with no problems, yeah it can't add extra buttons but 3 is all I need.

I haven't seen that, but I haven't chosen a color. I have it set to let the app in use dictate the color. I have seen only one app that I dislike the color choice, so far.
I too dont like default nav bar button looks. However I use more safer way to get customization. There are quite a few samsung themes (paid most ones few free ones) provide nav bar custom look buttons such as below. Ofcourse they wont provide new buttons but merely change the look.
Invaser Soft theme I use on note 9 gives the attached look.
so, is there any update on this for the Note 9?? I'd really like to add a power button to the bottom rgiht.....

Samsung Experience 10 Launcher

Not my work, just sharing it here for good vibes - https://www.xda-developers.com/download-samsung-experience-10-launcher/
That's awesome. I can't wait to see the auto light /dark mode in action
Finally, the empty space where the icon labels and the nav bar hide...IS NOT space anymore. This and the unscrollable wallpaper on the homescreen were the only two eye poppers i always had in the new TW (weirdly, bot used to be hidden mods)
Well done Sammy, i even think they are using the boards here for feedback, sneaky bastards.
PS, dont forget to make the new launcher as default, or else it will crash and notify about some java thing.

Does not work on at&t note 8. Just crashes. Maybe because the app I have is not a update to 9.5 version but it's own apk. That's how it installed anyway.

You probably just set the old one as default again. Clear the launcher default settings (not the cache/data) and try again, i've already got it on on an S7E, S8, and S8+ phones. It should work as the leak itself comes from a Snapdragon variant dump, just like yours.

No it's exactly the same as 9 minus the settings. And I could not get it to stop crashing on my note 8 n950u with 8.0 crc2 build.
Ok it worked fine just not a lot of changes to me.
HOW TO UNINSTALL
I had to open the launcher settings and then go to the About section to get to the app options. Then I set Nova as the launcher and it lets me uninstall the version 10.
Thanks bro
Work perfectly

Couple of questions about Realme UI

Hello, I have a couple of questions. I'm using the X2 Pro completely stock on c25 rom.
1. When I try to activate split screen in the settings it gives me a failed toast notification saying "This function is not available in the current mode". What could that mean and how to fix it?
2. Could you make off screen music control gestures work with poweramp?
3. Is there a way to completely remove the VPN notification? Or at least remove it so the icon is not showing on the always on display (which is distracting since I'm expecting regular notifications there)?
4. Is it possible to move the status bar clock to the right and/or add seconds to it (tried with SystemUI Tuner app and didn't work)?
I know this is a lot of questions at once but I guess it would be helpful for everyone.
Thank you in advance.

General Love the new GoodLock (esp HomeUp)

Samsung released their major update for GoodLock and the associated widgets this morning (i got them in UK at least anyway)
The new HomeUp is great ... adds a major element which makes the app tray so much nicer ... VERTICAL scrolling in one long list instead of pages.
I already really like the ability to make the home screen & folders support many more rows/columns -- but this no more horizontal app tray = best bit ever
Makes OneUI finally for me a decent launcher
Why they just don't incorporate GoodLock and the extras into the main codeline i have no idea
What version of GoodLock and HomeUp do you have?
About the vertical scrolling, I can't the "priority app list" on the top of the drawer, why they didn't add a switch for that... Anyway I'm back to Nova hehe

All good lock new modules are now up on apkmirror
Thx 4 info but I need patched one from here https://downloads.corsicanu.ro/GoodLock/12/
EDIT: patched new versions are available. I had hoped for option to remove priority app list but not this time (again)
I use Fine Lock, it's a Good Lock launcher that lets you launch any module and it comes with some additional features like customizing the UI of the app and let you know when a module has been updated.

Yeah, so good change but still unusable, why the hell that part is not optional as it take nearly half of the screen -.-
They even fixed my problem of being unable to save and restore setups - something triggered by the OneUI 4.0 update. Finally sorted out.
Agreed that most of the HomeUp features should be integrated in Home UI settings. I guess Samsung thinks users would be overwhelmed if they cram all the options in.

How To Guide [No Root] Gesture navigation on third party launchers

Hello, everyone.
Lately I have been looking for a way to disable navigation bar on Stock rom, and use gestures on third party launchers, for example on Nova launcher. After trying different things, here what worked for me:
First, download Fluid N. G. app and set it (make sure the app stays working and the battery saver doesn't kill it). Don't hide the navbar using Fluid N. G., not only this won't work, but also will cause the navbar to reappear after every unlock. So, don't use the hide option from Fluid N. G. (see the screenshot below).
You also need Tasker app, So install it.
Since the device is not rooted, you need to grant some permissions for the Tasker app, in order to work. To do this, follow the instructions Here.
Once done, open Tasker app, select profiles and click "Import profile". The file that you need to import is in attachements. Enable it, reboot your device (wait for few seconds) and VoilĂ  !.
I tried to keep it as simple as possible. The results are attached below. Good luck!

One thing though, FNG bottom gesture isn't as responsive as Miui gesture. Takes like a second to open recents. Found a good FNG file and imported its settings. Better now.

Not tested this myself yet, but i doubt this was removed on Android 12 or Miui 13, this is kind of a basic function.
That build.prop is telling the OS the device has hardware keys for navigation. I've been using this for perhaps 10 years now .

This will only hide the navigation bar, gestures will not work, so before doing that, you need to install a gesture navigation app like Fluid n g.
From my understanding, in android 11 google disabled navigation gestures when not using the system launcher. Probably because third party launchers failed to integrate those animations correctly, which made them look laggy ( same when using fluid n. g. unfortunately)
You can see that in android 10 phones. When you change the launcher, the gestures will remain but there will be no animations.
So this is probably their way to avoid it.
if you look in the system Ui code you will find something like:
if( the launcher is system launcher)
enable gestures
else disable them.
if this is the case. A patched system ui app should do the job. i'll root my device this monday, and try to decompile the systemUI app to see if that's the source of our problem.
