If you're back on the latest stock T-Mobile firmware (8.1) ,T-Mobile US hasn't pushed it (9.0) out yet. (guessing you're on T-Mo US,going by your info)
https://support.t-mobile.com/community/phones-tablets-devices/software-updates
https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-39346
No word on when,never is,it could be tomorrow,Labor Day,or,anywhere in-between.
If you want the new US Carrier 9.0 firmware right now, you'll have to use Odin to load it up.
whelp, I can't get past the note 9 screen now...

Hey Venom, ever since upgraded to pie via an update file from XDA, my software update screen says this and I never get OTA updates. I always have to flash each rom manually thru Odin.
Any ideas why my phone can't update via OTA anymore? I have not tried factory resetting or anything. I have however flashed several firmwares via Odin with no change.

Same thing happened to me. not sure if i got a bad download or what but i grabbed a fresh copy (of n960U1, the unlocked rom without carrier bloat) and i was able to receive OTA updates again.
@Venom0642 i have a question, why are incremental updates only say 200-1000mb over OTA, but when flashing they are always the full 4-5gb ROM files?

Hi,
I have had an issue with my Note 9 with the firmware from November right before this. I prefer Oreo to Pie so I wanted to update. The AT&T N960USQS1ARL2 files I have downloaded do not includ the home_cmc file and I do not want to reinstall apps and data. Please advise how I can get the home_cmc file.

There has never been a way to unlock the bootloader on the AT&T variant. Root hasn't been available since Lollipop. Not aware of anyone still working on it, so don't hold you breath...

I know. A real bummer. I was really looking forward to get the most out of this phone but AT&T have really made sure that you can't do anything.
Well you know I got can hope and dream for root on a AT&T, maybe one day soon, maybe not.
I can update this firmware if my baseband is the G920AUCS4CPG1? My model is S6 SM920A 64gb AT&T.
Is there a problem with the bootloader blocked or unlocked? is that I do not know how it is on my device
i really need this firmware and the link is down can someone help me to get another link
I am wondering how OTA updates work for an unrooted, stock F / DS? I find it surprising that I am still on the August 1 security patch, and other F / DS models are on September 1, while some even received the camera patch. How does this work? Is it normal for it to be this far behind for the same model?

You did that without root? Did you have to factory reset the phone, and did you lose any data? Is it just as simple as flashing the firmware files with home_csc?

I did it without root and flash it with Home_CSC. I did couple of time using the CSC for clean setup. But now I am having error "SW REV. CHECK FAIL. DEVICE: 2. Binary: 1." when try to flash back to firmware with Aug security update. Will spend sometime to work on it. Currently on BTU firmware Oct security update, no other issue found also running with samsung experience 10.

I always wipe after a flash so I can start fresh. If device boots back to recovery after you odin your going to have to do a wipe anyway.

I followed the instructions and indeed I was able to get on ATT firmware but now I have a ton of bloat? Is that normal. I’ve read about other users who’ve switched firmwares with no bloat. Did I miss a step. I did flash the userdata file as well. Is that where the bloat comes from possibly?

@butchieboy When I first flashed the U firmware for ATT, I was on RJA. I then updated to ARK5 but all the carrier bloatware is present. I mean there's a ton of it. When I placed all of the files in Odin I also flashed the user userdata file along with BL, AP, etc. only because I read to place all the downloads files in each slot. Could that be the issue? I didn't see a home csc, only the full wipe files.

Yes, I ended up purchasing package disabler pro and got rid of most of it. Thanks! I have a quick question for you. I'll ask you your opinion since you have the knowledge. I see a thread where there's a Pie leak for the N9. The instructions take you from ARJA to CRKE (Pie). Since I'm on ARK5 (Dec 1 Security Patch) can I still follow the instructions to flash the Pie Beta and when I do any firmware flash, should I remove my sim card?

You will have to start with ARJA as the base for all Pie leaks. That means you need to use Odin to get back from ARK5 to ARJA and then you can run the update zip. Hope this helps.

I have already downloaded the firmware for the AT&T version. Here are the following numbers:
AP: AP_N960USQU1CSAA_YYYYYYYYYY_ZZZZZZZZZZ_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT_meta_OS9.tar.md5
BL: BL_N960USQU1CSAA_YYYYYYYYYY_ZZZZZZZZZZ_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5

CSC: CSC_OMC_OYN_N960USQU1CSAA_YYYYYYYYYY_ZZZZZZZZZZ_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
USERDATA: USERDATA_ATT_N960USQU1CSAA_YYYYYYYYYY_ZZZZZZZZZZ_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
where X = CP11692010, Y = CL15119493, and Z = QB21580044.
Once you have downloaded the Pie firmware for Sprint, can you check if the X, Y and Z values match?
Furthermore, should I flash the USERDATA file as well if I want to use AT&T features like myAT&T, AT&T Wi-Fi Calling, and AT&T Visual Voicemail? I worry because if I don't flash it, some AT&T features may not work correctly, especially for the 5G E symbol.

5G E is just a symbol. You are NOT getting increased speeds from seeing it.
Userdata is no longer needed. This is universal firmware, and it uses the SIM card inserted to determine which bloat/features to enable.

If I use this on Unlocked u1 phone with Google fi simcard, will i get ATT boot logo at start-up?
I have N950UZKAXAA (USA Unlocked, carrier free) but about 8 months ago, i flashed the carrier version of Oreo with the hope that it supports AT&T wifi calling, but it was still blocklisted, so i moved on to Sprint. It gets monthly security patches up until February 1 (currently on N950USQS5CSA1).
I want to flash back the carrier free firmware, as i think it got Android Pie. Is it possible to flash Android Pie or Oreo again? If so, what version is good to flash?
Thanks
I think I can follow this below firmware ?
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-8/how-to/guide-sm-n950u-u1-t3685884
Oreo
N950U1UEU3CRC1
with "Odin3_v3.13.1_3B_PatcheD" ??
The guide says : Note - If you are flashing Unlocked Firmware from Carrier Firmware you must use Prince Comsy Odin otherwise, use regular Odin.
But no prince comsy for Oreo !!!

The Z builds are all bets builds. If you're still on a beta build of Pie, you'll need to flash to an official release. I sold my Note 8, so I'm not sure what the current build number is.
