Hi Guys,
My P20 pro had a broken display/glass/LCD. I put it to the repair shop and they replaced the display unit with battery and mainframe. Now I have no working front camera.
proximity sensor is working, brightness sensor also.
I already cleared camera data/cache but no success. What I can try? Is it broken?
Cheers

If it work prior to update, return it to the repair shop, they must derp it in the process, not uncommon thing to happen unfortunately
Okay I just wanted to be sure there is no software related thing I can try.
tomorrow I get a new camera from the shop.
Thank you!
Hello, did you manage to solve this??
im having the same issue.
thank you
The cable of the camera module was broken. The guy from the repair shop ordered a new one.

Hi, I have a problem in my z3c, when I talk, screen doesnt go off. Also when I put brightness on auto, it stays the same all the time.

Are you using a screen protector ?
No screen protector
I didn't face that problem til now, did you restore an old backup to your phone ?
My phone had a problem and the supplier replaced it with a new piece. No problems now
Hi,
What kind of problem?
I also have the Ambient light sensor issue. The proximity sensor also fails.
The first time it happened, I tried (in last resort) a Factory reset, and both worked again.
But I'm not going to perform a factory reset every time these sensors stop working...
Help!
EDIT: I went back to the shop and they took it for repair. They declared a motherboard issue. In the end they gave me a new one.
i have same problem

Hi and sorry to ressurrect an old thread - I'm facing the same issue.
When trying to do the service check I get the same message as this video:
I removed the screen protector and the issue continues - anyone know what could be wrong?
Really hoping I won't need help from Sony as they were not helpful at all with my last query.
The issue can be seen on youtube under video name: Ambiance light sensor problem on xperia z3 compact D5803
Thanks,
Hi! I am having the same issue now... I restored it to factory settings but it did not help. Any ideas?
The front camera of my device just wont work so I went ahead and made the service guys change the camera module but no luck it still doesn't work and is stuck with the same problem they say it might be a problem with the motherboard, any solution except changing the motherboard?

Can someone at least say something?
Hi guys,
I have a strange behavior and I hope you can help me
I recently dropped my Mi5 into the water. :crying: The display didn't work anymore, I found out, that the contact for the display was damaged on the mainboard and ordered a new one.
After installation, the display works again
The only problem: As soon as I connect the main camera unit, the device doesn't boot any longer, but lands in the boot loop. I also have a 2nd camera unit and here the same happens. That means the camera unit shouldn´t be the problem.
Did you have an idea, what could be the issue here and how I can solve it?
Like said before it is strange because without a connected camera unit everything boots without a problem into the system.
Thanks in advance for your awesome help
Just wanted to let you know, that this issue was a hardware defect of the new mainboard yesterday I got another one delivered and everything works without any problems \o/
I must be really unlucky
I encountered 2 hardware failure .
First was battery connector onboard ,known issue to some pixel 4 xl users and had it replaced.
Second is rear camera and flash stopped working .
Tried clear camera app storage , restart removing app update and finally hard reset .
I am thinking of ordering rear camera unit , It cost almost 15 $ on chinese store ?! Is this legit?
And do you think it will solve the problem?
Update: ordered new camera from aliexpress , worth 15$ , take it to repair shop, replaced it successfully and worked fine , didn't take much photos yet but seems promising.
My main camera recently became faulty. Image preview and photos were blurry as hell. Wide angle etc was unaffected. I thought it may be a software issue however hitting the phone temporarily fixed it... Until the next time I opened the app.
My network O2 in the UK have accepted this as a repair fault and are issuing me with a NEW device, not repairing mine and sending it back.
All I'll say is check your camera's...

You mean to tell us to hit our phones once or twice to see if an issue will appear? haha
Your camera was not well connected to the motherboard and that is why it was malfunctioning and hitting fixed it. That, or the cable connection within the camera was faulty.
Regardless, good that you got a new piece without any hassle. If it was out of warranty that would likely have been an easy fix by someone who has half a brain when it comes to repairs.

No sorry if it wasn't clear. Basically the auto focus is faulty.... Hitting the phone kind of knocks it or kicks it back into life.
I'm not the only one with the issue there's a few on Samsung's own forums with the same problem.
I'm hoping it was just a lose connection and my replacement will be all good when it arrives.
I have the same problem after the August security update. Thought that last update from few days ago will fix the issue. My problem is with the zoom. Everything more than x9.9 doesn't work anymore. Doesn't automatically focus. If i come down to 9.9 is clear. Everything more is blurry.
August update and camera is fine so I will not be hitting my phone to fix it
For me August update started the problem.
This post makes me laugh because I've had this problem since I first got my S21U lol. The only solution for me has been to take pictures in really bright environments if I'm trying to get results with high quality and better focus.
Hello,
I also have a problem with the camera. When I am in video mode, a lot of times my stabilization stop working and when I love my phone it is shaky. I assuming that I have a problem with EIS beacuse when I turn stabilization off in the setting it is quite better.
Does anybody have similar problem?
I am one the last update, but the problem was present before last update.

thats your camera's OIS thatts effed up, tthis happened to my otherphone oneplus 3 years ago, i eventually sold it off before it got worse, id say you should get the module replaced under warranty. its definitely a hardware issue,
Update on this... My network acknowledged this as faulty and I got a replacement device.
Camera is fine so far on this one on latest update. I don't believe it is software causing this as a factory reset didn't fix it. Got to be a hardware fault.
Does dropping the phone count ?
Yes I'd be inclined to agree it's hardware now after installing AUHB update. Op how did you get O2 to agree a new device wasn't the repair option available
Yeah I'm experiencing this. It's SUPER frustrating. Just doesn not focus
Stuck on the July update here in Aus (was hoping the aug up would fix it but doesn't sound like it here )
Yeah I thought that but it's unchanged in the last update. The 103 MP camera is shocking currently. The wide angle a bit better maybe but in all modes it's not great. As it's in warranty they can repair it. First phone I've had to send in for repair since my HTC one M7. Still if needs be
