I'm no expert here so don't take my word for it, but I believe the boot logo is on your SIM card.
I say that because I bought an "unlocked" Note 8 from Amazon. When I first booted it up, it had the TMobile bootup logo. I thought I was going to have to return the phone because of it. But I went ahead and put my Verizon SIM card in and rebooted, and the TMobile bootup went away and now I have the Verizon logo on bootup. So that makes me think it is on the SIM and not in the ROM or the phone. I know that a new ROM can make the carrier boot logo disappear, but I am not sure how that works.
I am sure there are folks on here that can tell you exactly what you are asking that have much more knowledge than I!

It's not actually on the sim card the phone has all of them already listed in it. When you put a sim card in it just chooses the correct file to boot.

Ahh, those sneaky devils-I did not know that, thank you for the info!

You would have to install the stock Samsung OS onto your device. As the Cell Provider Logo is attached to the Cell Providers moddified version of the Samsung OS.

[Q] How to know bricked device original firmware

Hello!
I have a Samsung i9003 (aka Galaxy SL) which for some reasons has been semi-bricked by a fellow. The device boots forever with restarts, Samsung animation and Samsung logo for 5 minutes then starts over again. I have tried to flash it with four(4) different stock firmwares from samsung-updates using the CHN, YOG, ECT and TGY files. They all ed up in animation and Samsung logo then re-does that.
I am afraid I may be using wrong files and can't get it to boot, I want to know if I have a possibility of knowing what firmware was originally in the device so that I can re-do it.
PS: I know bit about using Odin, Pit files and Bootable SD's, so someone enlighten me on knowing the original carrier or firmware file under such caliber.

Error Messages
Hello! Thanks for your support, I have different error messages depending on the file used and if the SD card is inserted or not. The most common error though is the one about failure to mount SDcard. I'll send the original error upon re-flash. it gives something like error series 7 or sorta. I'll be back later on today. I'll heck that link given and shall give feedback.

Razr xt910 with a fake sim
Hi
Please I would like to know if you can help me, I'm desperate. I have a razr xt910 with a fake sim, but it is not my fault.
I bought this phone from Amazon and it was supposed to be unlocked, but sadly it was locked.
I bought unlock codes from webpages with my Imei number and none of them worked, and one person told me that the reason why the codes don't work is because the firmware installed is a modified firmware and that the sim is incorrect. All the functions of the phone work perfectly, I can even conect to wifi, but I can't make phone calls. Please if someone knows a way to fix this problem I would be very greatfull.
This is the information of my phone
Motorola Droid Razr Xt910
System Version: 672.180.41.xt910.yoigo.en.es
Baseband Version:U_04.10.00R

Check here as to what is your original firmware by entering your IMEI here
and check here if your phone has been reported stolen or blocked
Apparently you need to use a MicroSIM card and sometimes people just use a cutter to cut the Normal SIM card, as such if that is the case, could have been cut erroneously or damaged, suggest you try another SIM Card
Xsenman
Thank you very much for your answer, currently I am using a microsim that I requested to my Carrier here in my Country, so the microsim is not damage, beside if I test the microsim in other phone it works.
The problem is that when I insert the microsim in my phone, I get the following message: Sim network unlock pin. But when I insert the code I bought to unlock the phone, the code doesn't work.

Have you tried getting the PIN from your carrier ? or If you have the manual of this phone, they would have mentioned the USIM lock code in it, For Galaxy S its 00000...would be something like that, written in the phone manual or even an app like this Since your phone is Motorola , you need to search for the correct forum to get better response, sorry
If all fails, you need to visit a Mobile tech center ( you can find them in shopping centers and sidewalks even) they will use a box to unlock it for you ( you need to pay off course)
Thanks for the answer again, sadly there are no motorola help centers where I live, so I am on my own now, I will try to install a clean firmware to see if that helps.
Thank you for the help

[Q] Unable to unlock phone

So, basically, I got a new pay-as-you-go SIM and I don't want to buy a new phone for it. I was looking for methods to unlock my current galaxy ace, it's rooted and I have a custom ROM on it- The Ultimatum by The "A" Factor. I got my unlock codes and put the SIM in expecting to get a screen saying phone is locked, please put in unlock code or something similar that usually happens. However nothing came up but when the phone finished booting, I had no service and can't use it for calls or anything which suggests that the phone is still locked, I tried using the *#7465525# service code, but I got an error saying no service or incorrect MUDI code or something like that. Is it possible that flashing a new ROM wiped the unlocking procedures and is there anyway for me to know if my phone is unlocked and if not, can I still unlock it?

Didn't show you nothing to introduce the code?¿
... try introducing another SIM from other carrier... when you boot then automatically should ask you to introduce the unlock code
If it doesn't work you could phone to the device's carrier, the carrier must help you if you finished your contract

I do have another SIM from another carrier, but the screen isn't showing up, I've been scouring the internet and found http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1335548 , turns out it won't show because of my ROM, so I'll have to switch to stock like you said, before I do that though I'll try that code he said at the end to see if it will unlock. Thanks :good:

rooted, encrypted i537 stuck

hi all
I have a Samsung S4 Active for AT&T.
It is rooted and encrypted, running original MF3.
All of a sudden, it rebooted.
When I entered the pin, it just takes the pin and they keyboard disappears.
It does nothing whatsoever after that.
I can see the "Enter your pin..." message and the pin textbox, but nothing after that.
I also switched the AT&T logo for the original samsung, I suspect if I send it to AT&T or Samsung, they will just say warranty is void....
help!

I tried going into recovery menu and wiping it, doesn't work because /data/ is encrypted and doesn't mount

They won't because you're not sending it in for warranty, they're just going to flash it in the store. The worst thing they will do is say no, nothing will be sent to Samsung or AT&T about your phone.
ok, ended up flashing 4.3 on my own
lost all data, but it works

[Q] Help! Device Locked Due to Abnormal Factory Reset

Hi all,
I am in desperate need of help with this AT&T Samsung Galaxy S5 that I found in abroad. Before I get chewed out with accusations of theft, I found the phone in a restaurant and gave to the staff who returned it to me after 3 days an no one had come to claim it.
Anyway, I have been trying to unlock it for use in Canada. I'm a bit of a noob, so please be patient Started with a commercial unlock code to SIM unlock. I received a "successful" message, so I assume it worked. However, I was told that AT&T locks other SIM cards from working on their firmware, so I began to try to flash and install a custom rom. I went to geohot's towelroot page and clicked the lambda. I think it did something. For some reason, I decided it would be a good idea to do factory data wipe from the volume down+power+home recovery screen. Now, I can't get past the initial setup which is asking for my original Samsung login ID, which I obviously don't have. In addition, I can't flash the rom with Odin or install off of external SD card.
Please help!!!
Thanks!
AK

I do already have dev options enabled, but can't see OEM Unlock there. It is not bought from a carrier, I bought it straight from Samsung and can change carrier simply by replacing the SIM card

Will do. Is that the same as a hard reset? This erases all my data, such as pictures and stuff, right?
PS: Found out that my mother's phone, which was bought together with mine and is the exact same model, has an uptime of almost 900 hours and also don't have OEM Unlock available in dev settings. She also have never flashed anything on it.
When it boots up is their any other logo their besides Samsung?
Reset or hard reset is the same do it from stock recovery .

There are 2 Samsung logos. First a still image that says Samsung Galaxy A8+ Powered by Android, then a Samsung splash
That is normal I bought mine from China and been rooted since day one.
If you can't get oem unlock to show ireally don't know what to say.
I did not follow root directions I did it my way.
When you put a Sim card it activates rmm state lock that hides your oem unlock.
You can try a hard rest for 168 hour no reboot and don't disconnect from network if you do you have to start over.
Here is a long shot you can try remove Sim card and do a hard reset and reboot see if you can see oem unlock.
